I do wonder how his old-fashioned 4-4-2 with two sweepers and two centre-halfs masquerading as full-backs will cope with modern ball-retaining teams. Death or glory now with relegation looming. Mind you Skizzonito's four no10s approach seems to be working well.Shankley's tactics

What's wrong with van Hanegem? I already gave up on Krol ever starting but how on earth is Bakero (or Oliver Reck for that matter) getting a look in and not Wim? Can you post his stats?

Dodged a bullet then. I was considering Scarone to compete with Fritz Walter but was concerned he would wind up competing with Spencer, taking minutes away from my brainfart of a R1 pick (Romario
). Three of my first 6 picks are hardly playing, and it's not like we are talking Messi or Cristiano with promising futures Holidays over, same team/formation/xxxxxx results...... grim times.
@oneniltothearsenal Who is likely to get promoted from the Championship? Is it Championship teams or have the likes of Chelsea and City been shunted down the way to accommodate us?

Not sure there actually is a relegation and promotion here. Someone mentioned the other day in a previous exercise someone was last every year and suddenyl won in the last. Can't pull that off after several relegations
It's even weirder in your case. With Krol I guess the Brehme stats didn't offer much scope for him on the right and I can see it being a difficult choice between the two (Krol in defence was ruled out in my head the moment I landed Popluhar, a beast as expected). Thanks feck I got Bossis as a jack-of-all-trades defensive backup
otherwise I'd have Angloma there and I didn't even know (still don't) which Angloma that is Pretty miffed that I prioritised fullbacks so heavily (3rd and 4th pick) only to have one of them starting at all. It seems the AI doesn't give two shits about fullbacks, which may explain why drafters often overlook them completely. In reality a Cruyff team is hugely reliant on very specific ones and, in this All-Time format, they had to be very specific top notch ones.

Last Update before end of the First Season.
Yes I have dragged this first season on, for better or worse for some of you but it will be over next week. I am out of town this weekend. On Monday-Tues I will be posting final end of season mega update with season stats and info for all teams in prep for summer transfer window (nightmare for me).

I have neglected the Guttman side for a while. After a promising start his selections have made for more entertaining matches than solid victories. Some expect this might make for a managerial change. We have to see what happens.
Sjor also flirted with a fight for European football early but also suffered a fall from grace. These are sides looking for redemption.
@Gio vs @harms
Lets look in on these two and see what happens. Shankly with his formation have brought Gio well out of the Crouch Zone despite the mockery on social media. Harms slipped out of the European slots and Lattek is allegedly upset. Di Stefano has had a quiet year so far. While he has a solid 7.25 overall rating in 24 matches, he has not been a difference maker in many matches this year as the Lattek side has risen and fallen with the front 3.

A draw makes the rest of the season less fun.
I don’t have any clever words here. But this was an awesome match to watch. Two finely tuned sides in 2D circles makes for some awesome imagination. Both these sides seem to reflect the spirit of their players and manager well. Paul Madely is also one of my new favorites I discovered through these experiment.

The Invicstatic side has sadly been one of my least profiled. I blame it on Ancelotti. Boring manager. No controversies. No Invictstatic Fan TV. Just solid mid table German/Italian stability here. I have to say I love Bruno Conti here. Very solid performances all season. Got me watching a few more Conti videos and appreciating his all around game. Sjor and Ferguson are having a tough season similar to Ferguson’s first with United. Bergkamp needs to play more.

Player of the Spring: Savicevic
Wise observers might remember that I mentioned in the first few updates that Savicevic seemed to be Tuppet’s key player. He didn’t play in Tuppet’s two losses in his first three matches. Then he was brought on as a substitute and starting producing. Then earned a starting role in Tuppet’s rise to the top. He has 19 starts 4 subs with 8 goals 13 assists.
Surprise: George Weah!
In an odd game against Antohan, George Weah’s surprise hat trick fired Simonhch to victory. He also scored the only goal for Simon in a win over harms. He might be a player to watch next season.

Just realised I have scored 8 goals from Corners, if Hitzfield ever gets sacked we have to bring in Pulis.

@oneniltothearsenal what sort of update is that? I was second and all you do is show us the battle between 2nd and 3rd (not involved, draw), then between 1st and 2nd (again, not involved), only to close with some randomer getting a game and bagging a hattrick. I was also top scoring side and no longer.
How many games did I lose on the trot here? I wasn't expecting to reach the top but was hoping to get Wenger's Top 4 trophy

He is my first choice backup for two key roles. That's 65x2 = £153.5M with agent fees.
I seem to have completely cocked up with my random punt on Morales (I could have easily gone with Orsi, Joya, Rensenbrink or Keizer but really wanted to have a gamble on that chap). Although I'm sure Keizer would go the same route of van Hanegem, I'd be happy to include him in a player + cash deal.
