@oneniltothearsenal none of the tags worked.. completely missed this, great work mate.
Lefter Küçükandonyadis.Glorious start. Who the feck is Lefter?
Lefter Küçükandonyadis.
You picked him?
Yeah. He won a photo contest.Lefter Küçükandonyadis.
You picked him?
That's because Pillow sucks balls.Simon is the only team To win away
I thought the manager sets the formation?@oneniltothearsenal you sure you set our formation to 4123 wide?
Some wanted it changed to something else. You know, the entire point of picking a legendary manager is overruling his preferencesI thought the manager sets the formation?
Whatever floats your boat....Yeah. He won a photo contest.
Nothing wrong with wanting him to play a different formation with his preferences intact. Twat. Some wanted it changed to something else. You know, the entire point of picking a legendary manager is overruling his preferences
@Edgar Allan Pillow @altodevil86 Even if you edit the preferred formation everything in the manager's profile will point elsewhere so either you get a confused manager or he changes his preferences (again).
The thing is his preferences would be consistent with a certain formation. Imagine keeping Capello's preferences and telling him to play 4-2-4. It just won't fly.Nothing wrong with wanting him to play a different formation with his preferences intact. Twat.

He was a backup. No idea why he's starting.Whatever floats your boat....
Didn't you get them off OneNil at the start? They are indeed mostly bollocks. Lots of managers have been created as 4-2-3-1.I'm starting to think manager pref is BS, for some reason Lippi played 4-2-3-1 wide, a formation he never really used in real life. This really messes things up because i didn't select many out and out wingers, i think Pires is the only one.
Oldie with great stats I assume? He was a backup. No idea why he's starting.

I had the same issue with Cruyff whereby I thought I'd be playing a rather direct 3-4-3 diamond but the preferences were essentially Pep's, not his. Refused to give him tiki taka players though, just rather direct players with good technique, passing and (hopefully) the engine for a high press game. That's actually why I didn't pick Orsi, for example, had no idea how suitable he could be.
Oops. So that's how you ended up with Toninho Cerezo as a RW?Nope i was drafting under the assumption that manager preferences would be fairly accurate (the formation atleast).
Also Maicon at LB, Baresi at RB, Jarni and Gullit in CMOops. So that's how you ended up with Toninho Cerezo as a RW?
I looked no further than Toninho. That's a fecking car crashAlso Maicon at LB, Baresi at RB, Jarni and Gullit in CM

These managers are mental. Herrera plays 4-2-3-1 as well and dominated possessionThought Gento might end up as a wing-back. Never thought he'd take Cafu's place on the right.
Fortunately the first matchday also gives us the first edition of The Mustard Derby. @Edgar Allan Pillow @altodevil86 @Skizzo @Joga Bonito And it was one of the best matches of the first week. Clough is starting Johan Cruijff and Lefter (Not even trying with his last name) in a flat 442. This was a crazy match. I won’t try to put much suspense here as the reality is Lobanovskyi’s side pressed Clough off the pitch. Also the front three of Ademir, Pedernera, Tirnanic (before he got injured) and Hidegkuti just played some brilliant football. One positive for Edgar was Cruyff getting a hat trick. One of the higher scoring matches by a margin:
For the final match report. We finally get to see @spontaneus1 Hitzfeld’s 3412 against the @Skizzo @Joga Bonito Orange Crush. Hitzfeld has Diego Maradona in his arsenal with Bremner and Sammer behind him. With Carlos Alberto and Cabrini as Hitzfeld’s wingbacks this makes an interesting tactical battle for Lobanovskyi’s Beckenbauer spiked mixture. Duncan Edwards and Valentino Mazzola were selected in midfield for this one with Beckenbauer leading the Skizzonito defense. Skizzonito is already looking like a favorite so Diego needs to bring his best game
Thanks @Ecstatic and @Skizzo appreciate it.

I have no idea why this game is so popular. I find this absurd with AI playing players out of position, rigid tactics and overall chaotic approach.
Travesty that Cruyff has to suffer in a 4-4-2 alongside Scouse cloggers like Schtevie G and Emlyn Hughes, it's about time he moved on to a side who know a thing or two about playing football. See you in January Johann.
Didn't Liedholm start as a left winger for you, who is "N. L..." otherwise?, we also have Madeley who we picked as a utility player starting for us in midfield with the likes of Zito and Nils feckin Liedholm on the bench

Feck off

Play it and you will find out. We have put several square pegs in round holes. If you actually play the game, there is little more satisfying then taking a non league team to the PL. Most managers are honestly very good at exploiting your team's weaknesses etc.
I just think the AI is overwhelmed with the GOATs
Pretty much this. Every player is on steroids in this version so we are getting some insane results. Normal FM doesn't have anywhere near this many goals per game.
