Absolutely.

Unfortunately the one time I can load up on hipster oldies I chose a manager who is incompatible with them. They don't have passing stats, they are watermelon punting stats.

But yeah, sometimes I see a pick and feel I'm the village idiot sorrounded by ITK wolves. Almost like I'm making random punts only to later find the stats are a bit meh.

Its not as much about stats as it might seem though.
I've seen players win the WOPTY that had worse stats than others. Its really building as much synergies as you can then just hoping for the best with the RNG

With this database I think its almost certain that none of the players would have meh stats. Its literally going to be random on who wins the league and who finish last. I am certain if you run simulation 10 times it would have different result every single time.

It still seems like I'm missing something, be it insight on player stats or FM mechanics. It's not that much who people pick but who they aren't picking.

To me it looks like attacking players are more preferred to defenders which makes sense because video games traditionally tend to favor attackers to make the game more exciting.

Also I'd say the fact its a simulation removes the difficulty about trying "sell" a player like Moreno or Bican as opposed to Zico or Gerd so it removes one of the trickier things about picking pre-footage players.
