Neuer went for the ball and fairly won it, had he missed the ball as Scumacher did then fair enough.
Aguero and Mascherano both should have went.

The Neuer punch is a difficult one. He's obviously going for and wins the ball, so I reckon it would've been just as contentious to give a foul for dangerous play than to let it go.

Neuer did what every goalkeeper does: He put up his knee in order to protect himself. And he got the ball. Higuain had no chance to get it once Neuer made his choice. In fact the Argentinian GK did exactly the same thing in the first half, only that Klose saw it coming and avoided him. And it's not violent behaviour by GK's. If they wouldn't don't do it, they get into bodies with their arms up, and expose their whole gut. Kidney, liver, stomach. Normal player go only straight up, no much exposure, a GK is a completely different story.
The real joke was that the fault was given against Argentina, and yes i do believe it shouldve been called an indirect free kick in the box. It appears the refeeres have forgotten they can do that.

Argentina had 3 great chances and failed to hit the target once, apart from that they defended well and were disappointing going forward as they have been the entire tournament.
To sum up they are a difficult team to beat but for me the Germans were better tonight and deserved to win.
Higuain and Palacio, just shocking.
I think they created the better chances. Germany had dominance in the 2nd half but can't remember any real German chances apart from a goal and a Schurrle half chance. Oh and the header that hit the bar. Even the goal was far from a certain thing.
Argentina had a goal disallowed, Palacio should've scored, Higuain should've scored, Messi should've scored...they were all clear cut chances.

Higuain was never going to get anywhere near the ball, the fact he put himself in that position only he can explain. So yes it was excellent goalkeeping from Neuer.

I judge a performance on whoever looks the most threatening. That was Argentina. Germany dominated the 2nd half as I said, but created little.
This is all irrelevant..Germany won, who cares who deserved what? Like I said, they deserved it over the course of the tournie.

That's an incredibly misleading stat then isn't it? Considering they scored but it was offside and Messi had a chance which 9/10 times he puts away. Not to mention the sitter Higuain missed and the excellent Palacio chance.
They could easily have had a few, they clearly created chances. They just fluffed it up in front of goal.
Depends what you mean by threatening. I though Germany created much better "openings" (even though that's a weird, vague subjective term)..Argentina got a couple of good chances from mistakes, created one from good play, and one that was offside and otherwise looked a bit short on ideas.
Germany were probing far better IMO, but often missing the final ball. Or unfortunately having it fall to the big lump Howedes in great positions.

Maybe, just the way I perceived it I guess. Oh well, irrelevant as it gets now. It won't comfort Argentina fans and it won't bother German ones.
And this is an Argentina team with Messi, Aguero, Di Maria (though not tonight obvs) and some very tough defenders. It's not some plucky little outfit that did well beyond their means to soak up and counter.
Argentina were trying a counter attacking game in the knockouts, but in the end they didn't score in open play in either the semis or the final. For a team with such attacking talent, it seems like something went wrong there.
