Fifth Ashes Test, Sydney

Ashley Giles only had a batting average .03 less than Strauss in the end, sure he had 3 stinking decisions but hang your head in shame man! Couldn't believe that when I saw it.

All the England interviews, Flintoff, Harmison, keep saying 'Australia are great, we were poor, we competed at times, there are many positives to take away'. Pieterson however just gave a 10 minute interview to Athers where he outlined exactly where the batsmen went wrong (not valuing their wickets highly enough, importance of making centuries etc) and the bowlers (not bowling patiently, consistant line and length, frustrating the batsmen not allowing them to get bat on ball etc). He's the only one I've heard with the right attitude. And his figures back him up too, best batsmen by a fair distance bar ******gwood. Hopefully he'll get his message across to the rest of that sorry bunch.

Only Warne will be hard to replace I'd say.
Stuart MacGill will come in and replace him. He's still got a couple of years in him and his record is better than Warne's at the same stage in their careers.

All I can say for this series is  All that hype from your media. I feel sorry for all those poor bastards that wasted thousands to come out here and watch that shite. Ahhhh well- there's always 2009 ;)

198 wickets @ 27.20 in 40 tests is hardly shit. And like I said, if you compare Warne and MacGill at the same point in their careers, MacGill has the better stats.

He's 35, so he could still do the job for a couple more years. The only problem is Australia don't play another test for something like 11 months, so that could go against him.

Young off spinner Dan Cullen is coming through nicely at South Australia. He's already played one test and is only 22.

A great spinner but no Warne.

Australia will still dominate with the likes of Jaques,Johnson, white,M.Clarke,Tait, Cosgrove (given he loses 20 pounds), Shane Watson complementing the older generation Ponting, Gilly, Haydos,hussy,S.R.Clarke, Lee. Australia are like the Brazil of football only better.

As bad as we may be at times, we're nowhere near the depths England have reached.

Your lot are fecking shit, and its time you got used to it.Pakistan, SL, NZ are all better teams than yours.

we lose to one team (the world's best team at that) out of the last eleven and suddenly we're shitter than you?

you're dreaming, fruitcake.

Did you happen to see the five Test matches..?This just happens to be one of the most important series for you lot...and you fecked it so bad you're the laughing stock of the cricket playing world.Your quality of play is shit, your batsmen are shit, your bowlers are shit, your only decent spin bowler isn't actually as good as you think he is.Your only decent opening batsman is scared of going to most countries now.

Its the equivalent of India losing 5-0 to Pakistan in such a humiliating manner without even the semblance of a fight...with the exception that most other cricket teams in the world give it some sort of a fight..not England.

Don't for a second think you're any better than Pakistan or India. You might give the Windies a fight though.

India would still get beat in England. And the last time I checked, we drew in India. The fact is, if we're this bad, how bad does that make India then?!

As for England. I'd fecking strip the cnuts of their MBEs. They should never have received them in the first place. Very small time. And looking back at the ticker-tate parade. . . cringeworthy. To be the best, you have to beat teams home and away over a period. By beating Australia, you get the feeling the management and players, thought that had achieved everything. We may beat them in 09, but it's away where it's at.

tbh, i still fail to believe we're suddenly a bad team.

lazy? you betcha! handled by morons? yup!

this was also the problem with Eriksson. we need a leader of men that won't pander to lazy/unfit players on the basis of reputation.

we had players in that squad who got hundreds and two hundreds and 7 fors and eight fors. what we didn't have was the ruthlessness to match the aussies. that's what's so frustrating.

that said, i'm not as worried as i could be.

Flintoff comes across as too nice and soft in his interviews. 'I thanked my team for all the effort and hard work they put in' or words to that effect. er. . . you're deluded mate. They were half arsed.

And we drew in England last time we went there. And keep hammering them in one dayers. Personally, i dont see an order of things developing after Australia. Its them and then the rest. Hopefully this will change now with a new Aussie team forming.

cricket's answer to Roy Keane

on another note, how sweet was Brett Lee to Strauss yesterday? well, as nice as you can be after trying to decapitate someone.

i think that the current english side, if managed properly, has the potential to be better than anyone.

not to mention...

Rank Team Matches Points Rating

1 Australia 45 5933 132

2 England 49 5396 110

3 India 39 4209 108

;)

let's not talk about potential GG. the english midfield has potential too. i agree that england have a young, talented side that can be really good in the years to come but they've been pretty shit of late.

and somewhere above you mentioned that neither india nor pakistan have beaten you of late. wrong. england's first tour after their last ashes victory was to pakistan where they lost 2-0.

er. . . GeeGee.

Australia 43 5807 135
England 47 5344 114
Pakistan 34 3800 112
India 34 3780 111

I was wrong. Highest rating India can achieve is joint 3rd.

Current rating: 94

South Africa win by 1 Test 2-1 - 98

Series tied 1-1 - 95

India win by 1 Test 2-1 - 93

India Current rating: 111

South Africa win by 1 Test 2-1 - 107

Series tied 1-1 - 109

India win by 1 Test 2-1 - 112

Not Lee's fault ... the spastic pom ducked when he didn't have to, he judged the bounce wrong and moved into the ball ... reflection on the team that, bunch of spazzes.

you people are hilarious btw. we get humiliated 5-0 and we're still technically better than you. you so must be seething inside

the indian representation on this board is wank, btw.
Ofcourse it is. The English cricket loving representation believes they can be the best team in the world!

How seriously do you take the Fifa rankings?
You just got battered 5-0 against Autralia. The series for which all the previous poor results were just a preperation for. I dont think English fans are in a position to talk about how great their team is.

definition of irony anyone?
Err.. im not talking about how great my team is, am i?

Anyhow, ratings are useless, Australia are still the best and the rest need to improve.

You're honestly not judging your team from those ratings are you...your team are shit.We aren't too far ahead buit we can be assured of the fact that we are a much much better side.5-0...are you fecking kidding me?!

Unless I fell for a "Lara>Tendulkar"-esque wind-up...;)

As I said, you'd get stuffed in England. We drew out there, in your backyard. That should give a huge fecking indication, as to how poor you are. Losing in SA is a pretty poor effort as well. They're very average. But as the standings suggest, you're more nearer to the level of NZ and Sri Lanka, than the big boys of world cricket.
