Gaming Fifa 2009

I scored two free kicks in one game today. One with power like 34yds out and the other edge of the box without power.

My brother who I was playing couldn't believe it. Its not like it was a keepers blatant mistake either. I'll never get close to scoring a cracker like that. I'm actually pretty rubbish at shooting on this game. I waste chances typically like United have been doing of late.
 
Last 2 online games:

Winning 3-0, guy quit with 10 minutes to go

Winning 4-1, guy quit in last minute

I'm not playing online again it's ridiculous... anyone here fancy a game NOW?
 
How hard would it be to record the score as its being played, so if the game was ended the score at time of quiting would still count?

lazy as feck by EA... they manage it on Gears and Cod4 with updating kills

Easily my biggest gripe when playing online. Would love it if they did implement that.
 
How do you go online with 2 players on one xbox? Do you need two live accts?
 
How is the new commentary add on then? Any good?

I don't have a problem with Gray but the commentary is piss poor.
 
Was just gunna download the new commentary and realised it costs points.

I'm new to XBox and didnt know how or what these points where and i've just realised you have to pay for em. About a fiver that commentary will cost!

Before I download the commentary pack, is it true it is a direct rip off from Euro 2008 and every match starts with "And this international match. . "?

Surely that can't be right? I mean it's fine if they use Euro 2008 commentary, but I'd have thought they would've removed the bit that relates it to international games.
 
A patch is being released next week

- Fixed side-stepping issue on lofted through balls
Fixing the issue where a player sidesteps when trying to control a lofted through ball instead of running straight onto it and controlling it, was a top priority for the EAC development team. We’re happy to say that the team at EAC has been able to fix this problem and it will be included in the game update.

- Improved advantage rule: fixed goals being called back for free kicks
There was a problem in the advantage rule whereby the referee would call back a goal if it was scored when the advantage was being played. Instead the referee would give a FK or a PK to the fouled player. This issue has been resolved in the game update. Goals that are going in when a foul is committed will count when they score.

- Improved number assigning in Manager Mode
When signing a player in Manager Mode the player now makes a more sensible decision, based on this position, on which number he would like, whereas previously he would always take the number 2.

- Allowed up to 8 user-controlled teams in Tournament Mode
After installing the game update it will be possible to play in Tournament Mode with up to 8 user-controlled teams. This gives the option to host bigger events with your friends to compete in offline-tournaments. Have fun!

I've created myself, started off at Leeds, took them from rock bottom to first spot. Next season in the Championship we finished third, PL awaited. Was waiting for United to come knocking but Fergie never came. Only PL club wanting me was Arsenal, so I signed :nervous: At least Wenger let's me play in my actual position. CM alongside Cesc

I have not managed to score one freekick yet. Do you place them or hit them as normal?
 
I'm in manager mode and have done 2 seasons with QPR. It's so easy to improve your players though isn't it? I bought Kevin Doyle and he now has an overall rating of 95. I also have his strike parter Vela up to 93, Fabio to 80, Rafael to 85, Johnny Evans to 88, and the rest I have young Irish players which I have yet to have time to improve. Doyle will have an overall of 99 within 2 seasons.

Brilliant news. These have been pretty much the only two things that have been grating me on this game. If it is sorted out, the game will go up another notch for me, especially that offside thing, you don't want to know how many goals I've conceded just because of that - I stopped playing for a bit because of it.

Depends on the position I'm in and the player. If it's Ronaldo/Gerrard/Lampard/Ballack near the edge of the area I'll power it towards a corner. Actually saying that I just did a power one from about 40 yards out which hit the bar and I got a tap in from it.

If it's too far out or too close to get up and over the wall I will place it. I've improved on my placed free-kicks recently, scored some beautys.
 
I've downloaded Spanish commentary for it :lol:

I'm expecting 'GOL GOL GOL' everytime I score.
 
Why the feck don;t they fix the issue with people quiting early and crediting wins???

I don't know why I am so bad at them. I can't even score it when you can take them free kicks from anywhere before the match.
 
I hate people who are flukey as hell and then celebrate like they are hot shit.

Some guy kicked off and just shot from the halfway line like a 4 year old, and my keeper inexplicably moved backwards into the net so when he caught it he was over the line therefore goal :confused: nothing I could do about it and he makes his player run to my keeper and do the hand to the ear celebration. Then starts doing tricks and stuff for the rest of the game like he's earned the lead.
 
one thing I wish they'd sort out is the dodgy camera work, too many times the camera can't follow the ball instead just focuses on the middle of the pitch then by the time it does scroll over you either can't see where you have run to or where the ball is

got all those games on 360 but haven't been online for a while, will try and get on in the near future and have a few games
