You have to play through 4 seasons of be a pro though. But I've a bit of a shortcut.
First things first, if you make your player from a nation that doesnt have a team in the game (like Serbia, actually) then you dont have to play international matches and dont have to play in the cup at the end to keep your extra points.
You can skip most of the matches. Just skip 3 seasons (unless you want to play a few matches to achieve the season objectives and get extra points) and then sign for a crappy club in a crappy league, where you start off captain or fans favourite.
Then, finish the season as top scorer and as captain of the club. Sometimes its worked even by skipping lots of matches and losing the captaincy, but best to make sure.
Get to the end of that final season as top scorer and as captain and you'll keep your points. Might have to do it several times if you want lots of points though.
So to keep all the points you earn, you have to complete all four seasons on BAP?
Also, do I improve myself as I go along, or just save all the points until the end?
Officially you need to "complete" be a pro mode. Which is like, playing for your national team at the international cup after 4 years of BAP. But if your players nation isnt in the game, you can do it the way I said. Not sure it works otherwise.
Add all the points you want, use your player in any position you want. Once you've finished the be a pro mode, you can go into edit player and change everything anyway.

Each time I try and play and ranked points match, I play against some random bloke. How do you choose who you play against?

Just go to your Player Hub, contact list and invite your freind to a game. Then ask him to accept in the player hub ( after choosing your name). You can play ranked, I think.

I'm in a fifa tournament this week. It's mostly people on my school's footy team and people we know, about 32 people in all. I hadn't played fifa 09 more than once before this tournament, but I'm in the semi-finals and I have to say that the game is amazing. Much better and more realistic than the earlier versions.

It's not that uncommon. One of my teammates on the footy team is ranked something like 3000th in Fifa 09.
Yup, every round you progress (there are group stages, round of 16, quarter finals, semis, and the final) you get $5. Winner gets $170 at the end. There was a $10 buy-in.

This game crashes after less than 10 seconds every time I start an exhibition match against a friend. As soon as you bring in the 2nd controller, it's gonna crash. PS3 version. Any of yous experienced this?
Exactly what happens to mine now. Am fine playing single player online or offline, but as soon as a 2nd controller is in [play, it crashes at kick off, i'm think its a fault with the copy of the game

Seems the only way to resolve it is to delete your saved files. I'd be willing to do that once i've completed thsi be a pro season i'm midway through, but does anyone know if this will delte my online records and accomplishment thingys?
I've played loads of games against someone else locally and its always been fine. Glad that is so as its what I use the game most for, hope it doesn't start happening now!
One glitch that has come up that has happened to my brother is the manager mode - it got stuck on a percentage and it just stayed the same - messed the whole thing up. He looked on the net and quite a few people have also had the same problem.

What are the best controller settings to have on, manual or assisted?
I got the game yesterday, and am finding shooting quite easy. Would it be wise to change to semi or manual?

Semi would be fine, if you find it quite easy. But, i advise you to not to chose manual shooting though

What settings does everyone use? Changing setting such as passing to manual, I feel has added a new dimension to the gameplay. Thought it felt a bit too scripted until then.
But I fear when i play online, everything will be assisted once more.
Does anyone play it on manager mode? Did you ever get a player up to 99 in overall ability? I have Johnny Evans at 95 after three seasons and he has 15000 experience points halfway through the 4th season. He won't be far off.
To be honest that's why i don't play that mode.
