I've only played the WL about 4 times this Fifa due to being busy at the weekend, but finished Gold 1 each time with the last being a month ago. Feel like I'm a better player since then, especially with the last patch since most my losses were due to people 360 no scoping me with first time finesses. Got elite 2 couple times last Fifa so I'd say if I played consistently I'd be getting elite 3 or so.
Think my skill rating is about 2000 but I don't play rivals often. You're definitely a much better player but I'd be happy to give you a game. PSN is joe_thered

I just added you. You up for a game now?I’ve recently discovered how good the timed low drivens seem to be at the moment. Probably more than half of my goals are timed low drivens. Near post is usually the best place to aim them. Can be used both inside and just outside the box. They get some lift with a lot of power, but they still maintain accuracy. It’s probably the best way of shooting at the moment.

Yeah sure. I'll let you know when my flat mate has finished as he is playing regular h2h seasons on my account, which btw has terrible standards. He's won the Div 1 title about 5 times but he'd barely scrape 1500 skill points if he played UT

Got a lucky 2-0 win against @WR. Could’ve gone either way, think he hit the crossbar once at 0-0. So tough to play against, rarely misplaced a pass and he kept good control of the game. Scored one shitty goal from a free kick pass and one counter attack.

Yeah was very tight, cancelled each other out. You press high when I have possession and that usually pressures me into a mistake and it's how a lot of the better players play in WL. I'll play you again soon
Yeah looking forward to a rematch. You made very few mistakes though which was really frustrating. Just couldn’t win the ball high in the pitch, and whenever I face someone who patiently brings the ball forward to build up attacks without making mistakes I tend to get frustrated which you probably saw in my passing mistakes after winning the ball. I’ll have to be a bit more composed when getting the ball. That’s one of my weaknesses in general though, I’m too risky/impatient in my own half. Need to somehow change that.
The game is actually trash. Just won a game 6-4 AET where I had 37 shots to their 6, but the amount of bollocks I had to deal with at 4-4 was beyond ridiculous... It's like, the game knew I was going to win, so felt like it had to be made "extra interesting" for whatever reason.
Did the Rashford POTM. Feels great to use though then again, his futmas card felt great too. Felt like I had to do his card though, probably my favourite current player so why not.

Just got pissed off with Pogba so I've swapped my team around. Probably not the smartest thing to do midway through WL but ah well.
Sold Ramos, Pogba and Courtois. Brought in Upamecano, Mendy (both FS) and Lloris. Switched to a 4231 so I can bring Tevez in instead of Pogba. Can't see EL Alonso unfortunately but I might bring him back in when he gets upgraded.
I’ve just had the same. It’s disgusting when you’re so clearly far better than who you are playing against and then they start getting a million lucky breaks or certain players do impossible things and next thing you know you’ve just lost 4-3 after they score two crappy headers in the last minute through Jesus somehow outjumping Varane and pulling off what looks like a lobbed header because even though your GK is on the line the ball drops in behind him.
How about the opponent Mertens outjumping Skriniar, & the ball bouncing in the bottom corner slowly without Handanovic getting close?
I did win one game I was lucky to do so, but quite a few I lost were >20 shots versus <10 with the opponent keeper making world class saves one after another. Did play a guy with 93 red DDG

Yup it was the same with POTM Son in FIFA 17 I think. Underpriced and incredibly overpowered. I missed out on him and it annoyed me until the end of the game. Zlatan was only in SBCs for a week so it’s unfortunate for a lot of people who don’t play all the time. Really happy that I did his SBC. If they fix that alongside AI defending being so over-powered, I reckon the game will be in a really good place. Won 3 out of 3 this morning but every game was a 8 men behind the ball slog fest. Still prefer it to first time finesses from 30 yards though

Had a few games last night where the person wasn’t using AI defending and the game just becomes a lot more fun. I don’t really use it either but it was just a good open back and forth with space to try and do things. So much more enjoyable than 8 people walls not moving at all but I guess people are going to do what it takes to win. The Jose style of football.

But nah I thought of doing something similar but all the games looked highly unpredictable bar the City game. I wouldn’t rule out Lyon because they are just a decent side which must fancy themselves against anyone but Barca should be the favourite.
