Got a semi-decent card from a pack at last, Felipe Luiz. But my squad is Serie A based so selling him off. Will get around 25k for him. I bought Gomez, Allan and Perisic this week. Need to get a few more players like Pjanic and Cuadrado to complete my team.

Pace and strength is finally not overpowering in this game anymore. I can finally play mata and fred in a fifa game
Had a decent WL considering how little time I had . Was 13-1 at one point, but finished 14-4 as my lack of sleep caught up to me. If i can devote a decent amount of time to it at some point i feel this year i could hit the elites.
But, 2 player picks with no max rating will still be nice, and if i can get rank 1 in rivals again, take the untradeable packs and stock up on more rare golds for sbcs and consumables i'll be happy

Thinking of changing to a slight hybrid team.
Get rid of Mkhitaryan, Fabinho, Mendy and Van Dijk. Bring in James, Goretzka, Alaba and Boateng. I've already got Jamesfrom a pack that I've just not bothered to sell so would only be about 150k which is mostly make just from Van Dijk.
What do people reckon?

Sold most of the players I had saved up in my transfer list and club for the various sbc's, said feck it and bought Scholes. Keane was high 400k, put a bid of 423k in on Scholes since he's usually mid-upper 400k price, and ended up winning it. He feels brilliant in midfield too. Just always available and perfect passing.
Just so satisfying using both Scholes and Giggs together
I have never played UT, just Seasons, as I've found the concept a bit tedious but you have me intrigued. How long would it take me to acquire a team of say, Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Ferdinand and CR7?
I haven't used those players yet, so I'm mostly talking based on attributes:
Mendy is like half a CB and still gets 86 crossing for when he ventures forward, unless you rely a lot on your full backs in attack I'd much rather have him than Alaba.
VVD vs Boateng looks kind of even, Boateng is probably better if you're one of those guys who bypass their midfield constantly, otherwise VVD's jumping really looks sexy.
Fabinho looks good, but unless you're looking for an anchor player Goretzka will likely be the better opiton if you tailor him to your needs with the right chem style.
I've used James a lot in past FIFAs, when you can get the right angle his long shots are lots of fun and that extra bit of strength compared to other #10s often came in handy, but 3* weak foot on a CAM are a hefty price to pay for that, especially in the current FIFA, where long shots from proper angles feel like penalties. Mkhitaryan's 5* weak foot means you have twice as many angles, are less predictable for your opponent and with a shooting chem style he can get him to 90 shot power and >80 long shots.
I wouldn't want to make that trade just for Goretzka, I'd rather just buy Dembele or Alli if you're unhappy with Fabinho. But since you already got James you might as well sub him in a couple of times to see whether you like him.

Anyone played proclubs to say whether it's improved or the same old bollox mechanics?
You would never achieve that unless you spend at least a few hundred £ on packs, I'd say at least £500, probably closer to £1k.

I'm using a tall Serie A team myself and I couldn't be happier. You do lose a lot of pace and explosiveness of course and it costs you some counter attacks, but it feels rock solid in defense, ridiculous when it comes to headers and when I build up patiently I have no trouble creating plenty of opportunities in most games. It also seems to trigger a lot of opponents.

You could grind all year and achieve something like that if you’re a very good player and lucky, without spending much money. You’d have to play more than 1000 games though.Christ.. what's the point then?

Ahh, that's absolutely insane, both in terms of money and time! I'd love to use a classic United team like that but I'd never put in that kind of time or money
Especially not when the team does not carry over to future FIFAs.
He hasn't done many note-worthy things one way or the other. This FIFA doesn't feel like it gives keepers a lot chances to shine. I feel like the vast majority of shots are either inch perfect or easy saves.
I’m not sure about that, Fährmann is absolutely insane for me, even better than last year. I’d try out different keepers if I were you
I also have a Serie A team. I saved a lot to get Mertens (I don't get sniping much and just get on with the game). I just can't use him! Find him really bad to play with and I don't get why.
He has great dribbling stats but always has a heavy touch and loses the ball when I run with him.10 chemistry too! Maybe it's just the way I play. Belotti is far better. He's a beast with Gomez (from inter I think) at CAM.

I have Donnaruma, know why he was so cheap now... not sure he has hands! Will try a different keeper next time I get on. Changing NZonzi out for Allan I think. My wingers are perotti and Castellejo but might just bite the bullet and go narrow 41212 and get Allan + 2 others. Any recommendations? I am skint so don't say Radja or someone like that
I like to use Pastore. Easy to dribble with and can shoot, not a lightweight either. Gomez is terrific for me down the middle off the striker. He's weak as hell but 90 pace is so useful. I often one-two past everyone with ease because of him.
Ronaldo is always crazy expensive so unlikely. Ferdinand also really expensive. Keane, Scholes and Giggs you can get for 450k each right now which is how I got 2 of them, at their base versions. Would take either a feck ton of great trading, some great pack luck, and intensive playing to get everyone, or tons of money. For me I didnt spend anything but traded quite a bit, had decent pack luck and played rivlas/battles/weekend league a decent amount these first few weeks to get a lot of coins. It takes a while to understand the market and know when to invest in certain players and when to sell. That's the only surefire way to make lot of coins, and if you never played it much, it's not gonna happen.
Played it for the first time over the weekend - it's so hard to defend. It was much easier on the last version.
Verdi is insane value for money in my team, at first I just saw him as a stop-gap for Cuadrado, but his midget dribbling and 5* wf are so valuable that he's going to stay in the team for the foreseeable future. Castillejo being bad doesn't surprise me, given his 2* wf, defensive WR and atrocious physical stats, I wouldn't give up on wingers just because of him.
Keita Balde and Bernardeschi both look interesting as well, if you tweak them with chem styles.
Allan is okay, but neither this nor that, he's small and weak, so I felt like he held me back defensively and with 70 shot power and 62 long shots he doesn't feel great in attack either. Unless you're playing a high pressure tactic, I don't think he's worth the money. Emre Can is great value imho: he has a bit of everything, okay pace, decent long shots, decent passing, okay dribbling good defensives and physical stats. Stick engine or Maestro on him and you've got a very well rounded CM, Bonaventura also looks pretty good.
SMS is doing very well for me as CAM, but if I couldn't afford him Pastore would probably be my next candidate 1'88, 4*/4*, great passing and decent dribbling already built in and his shooting is not something that chem styles couldn't fix.

I don't think we have seasons anymore. So you will have to get on the FUT bandwagon to play online.
El Shaarawy is a decent player for the left wing. Di Maria has been brilliant for me. De Rossi, Rugani, Barzagli, Hysaj, Scwezny and Criscito are all cheap options for Serie A players. All are under 5k.

What I do miss though is a «Champions League online» in the mould of seasons, like they used to do with the World Cup games. I think they missed a trick there with the new license.
They most likely didn’t miss a trick, but deliberately left it out so they can release it as a new feature next title.
I can get Hazard on loan for 20 games. But I'll be swapping players worth more than 10k (close to 20k). My team is Serie A based. Is it still worth it?
Depends if you're weak at left wing and really want a top card for a weekend league to boost you up a little bit. Even then, I dont think having 1 extra top player like that will make a big difference in the long run, only a couple of wins at most I'd say compared to cheaper options like Martial. I always avoid the loan cards as it's just wasted coins pretty much.

Looks great apart from lack of pace and dribbling up front. That striker partnership should be great for crosses, but that’s a 41212 narrow isn’t it?
I have Perisic who is pretty good. With no chemistry, I'm not even sure if he'll be better than him!
Get Gomez as one of your strikers. This combination is too slow and easy to defend against.
