Fecking hell 6 of the 7 Hazard challenges done, and all I got in return is 1 84 rated player... Illaramendi and 2 83's players.

Tried Matuidi and hated him. Back to using Allan as part of my midfield 3. Can’t put my finger on it but he’s just so good. He’s ousted Khedira and Matuidi now, fair play to the lad.
Next stop might be to replace Skriniar with Chiellini. Anyone used Giorgio this year? He looks the part anyway, that’s for sure.

Keane seems to be getting more and more expensive been at high 400's the last few days, when I got Giggs at 420k, Keane was at just under 400k. Hope it's just a little trend. Should be able to afford him when I sell all the players in my transfer list. Gonna keep Scholes last because I have the CL cards for gundogan, verratti and Rabiot untradeable so Keane is more needed.

I’m not spending money on packs this year, but I think I’m better than before so hopefully I’ll reach top 100. My team right now is only worth around 500k so it’ll take a few weeks or months before it’s good enough to do it. Meanwhile I’m aiming for elite 1.
Finally completed the Hazard SBC, cost me 450k coins, IF Cech, Son, Fernandinho, Fabinho and Gundogan in total.
Was sceptical if he was worth it but he's amazing so far, he's like playing the game on fast forward while everyone else is in slow motion, plus any perfectly timed finesse inside 30 yards seems to go right in the top corner.
With a finisher chem style, his attacking stats are... Pos 96, Fin 93, Shot Power 98, long shots 98, volleys 93. He's got 93 pace anyway and his the card boosts his strength over 70 which is pretty good for a winger.

Ah fair. Yeah last year I spent like 40$ on packs and regretted it instantly, never again. Definitely feel better this year even without it though. I'm on pace for gold 1 or so, usually had pretty much a 50%win rate on the weekend league.
Have to say though, the game feels much better overall though. Much less frustrating and BS than before. Actually enjoying it even when grinding games.
Seems we've swapped positions. I was a constant gold 1 / elite 3 player last year and now I'm around 50% maybe just over.
I'll probably settle on gold 2, was on a really good run after starting off with 2 losses. Think they do match making off form so I probably had decent matches.
Also using 4-4-2 it just feels more fun. I would get annoyed with 433 and frustrated and every game would be the same, this is just fun having Giggs on the left of a 442 and whipping balls in.
Agree with you @bosnian_red that the game is better than before. Goals are more varied, playing out from the back isn’t ridiculously easy anymore, you can move your goalkeeper in game, people can’t watch full replays mid game anymore, lots of other stuff.
There’s the occational bullshit that pisses me off, and volleys are way too overpowered. But I don’t care that much, the game is really fun at the moment.

I’m on 20-5 at the moment which isn’t great, but I stopped caring that much when Elite 1 was out of reach. I only need 3 wins in the last 5 to achieve Elite 3 which rewards you pretty much the same as Elite 2, so if I do that I’m happy.

Elite seems a lot harder to achieve this year than last. I guess it’s because the required win percentage is higher, which makes sense because the div rivals rewards are so good, that it’d be overkill to make it as easy as last year to achieve WL rewards.
Gold 3 for me again, 14 wins from 27 games, I could try and push on for 17 but I'd probably win 2 and get EA'd in the final one. So many games today where I lost 2-0, 2-1, 3-1 where I had double the shots on target and hit the post about twice in every one.
I need to get better at finishing, I expect everyone to finish like Hazard and trying finesse's from everywhere is letting me down.

I just found a formation/tactic combo that is very balanced and absolutely amazing for dominating games, or to be accurate, I copied it from a pro player that I met. I recommend everyone to try it out

So I've used Cristiano Ronaldo on loan for 5 games, he has scored 1 goal. Conversely Mandzukic scored 11 in his first 5.
EDIT: In true Ronaldo fashion, he turns up when I need him, needing a win in my last game of Champs and he hits a hattrick in a 5-4 win

Finished gold 3 with a game to spare. Played like 5 games drunk last night and lost all 5 and played awfully which fecked me

Is anyone selling their team before the price crash? Im not sure whether to sell my expensive players tonight before the squad battle packs are opened. I know players are cheaper on sunday night/mon morning but with scream events coming soon im not sure whether the prices will drop daily now. I am already taking a 10k loss on felipe anderson and fred if i sell tonight. Trying to figure out if they have hit bottom price already, and if they have ill lose 5% on top of that to tax, which is especially worse if i want to buy them back and the price never dropped far enough to make a saving.
Gave this a try for my last 3 Weekend League Games, my God did I dominate the ball but my finishing and defending mean I'm not quite good enough to use it.
Won the first game 3-2, should have won about 12-0. Guy had 3 shots of target and Guita or whoever I had in goal had a mare.
2nd game I lost 4-2 to a player of a similar ability, I have 9 shots on target to his 4 and 16 shots to his 5. Admittedly all 5 he had were from good positions, tried Nepenthez tactic for my last game and won 1-0 but I felt I didn't control the game nearly as much as with the above.
I'm curious about this too. I'm always nervous when it comes to the market because of course, the general trend is always downwards in the long run. For this reason I always tend to keep at least 35/40% of my coins liquid so I don't keep losing out in depreciation.
If you sell at a loss now, you'll still be able to buy them back for pretty much the same, the 5% tax will be covered by playing games or 10 games of squad battles during the week or something. Fwiw very few of my team are tradable or if they are they're cheap anyway, Bailly, Pereira, Gundogan. Only tradable I have over 20k is Gabriel Jesus. I read somewhere the market doesn't crash as much as people think for Scream Team.

God that sounds so fun. I just know I'd end up hating his pace and strength. Gerrard actually looks perfect for midfield, but he's so fecking expensive.
I've found I have way more fun in this game using players I actually like, and it doesn't get much better than using Scholes and Giggs. Feel like I change my playstyle using them too. Just very satisfying every game using them and doesn't get boring. Using OP/meta players that I don't care about gets very boring really quickly IMO. Also get more frustrated with the game.
