What's your ultimate team?

My ultimate team is

Bench options: Jorginho, Sterling, Fernandinho, Christensen, Patrício.

I am on 20 wins with 3 games left in the weekend league. Hope to get nice cards from the pack rewards and coins to get Lukaku/Kane to replace Morata because of the physical holdup play that I need to hold on balls longer in order to create space for midfielders and attacking player to make a run. My long term is to build the midfield around KDB and Pogba with Kante protecting at the back and Hazard in CAM because of his great dribble.
 
Just got kicked out of 3 games in a row whilst winning and took 3 losses, anyone else having connection issues?
Now on a rather horrid, 12 wins with 7 games left, was hoping to hit 17 wins, unlikely now.
 
I’ve just redeemed some items off the catalogue but can’t find them anywhere? They’re loan players any ideas where they might be?

On the main screen in ultimate team you'll have an option of "new items" or something, you've gotta go in there and assign them I think?
 
Just tried playing The Journey but the AI was so bad and boring I just turned the PS4 off. Nothing fun about it.

Real Sociedad pinging passes around like 2009 Barcelona while you get about 2 touches of the ball and a minus rating cause you didn’t get two assists in 12 minutes.
 
I think I might have played against one of you guys last night on division rivals. The team name was Caf and Jose was the manager and he had 3-4 United players in the team.

The first week is hard as you won't have enough coins. But the weekly rewards set you up nicely for an 80+ team.

Other than upgrading Navas to Oblak, I'm going to need about 400,000 coins to improve anyone else.
 
I had no time apart from last night to play weekend league. Finished 8-1 in the games I did play, so i'm left wondering what could have been.

Currently d3 on rivals (qualified for d4 rewards this week though), skill rating of 1870, the standard in WL was much lower than rivals i found. I had a 3 rage quits in under 30 minutes once i went 3/4-0 up, which made life easier.

Current team is

OTW Vrsaljko - Benatia - Skrniar - Mario Rui
Verdi - IF Pellegrini - Milinkovic Savic - Perisic
--------------------Belotti - Immobile

Glaring opportunities to improve are Rui out and Sandro in, then upgrading Pellegrini for Naingollan, and then possibly Icardi for Belotti, but apart from the LB I'm not in a rush to upgrade massively.

Should get the OTW Verdi this week for the weeklychallenge too, then hope he can get a few in forms

OTW Verdi has been sensational for me so far, snagging him is a no-brainer for anyone.

How was IF Pellegrini? I’ve been toying with the idea of grabbing him as he’s so cheap and looks well-rounded. I have a midfield 3 of CL Nzonzi, Allan and Kessie and they’re fantastic. Kessie, in particular, is superb. Easily ousted Khedira from my team.

I’ve also been using CL Ghoulam, not sure what his price is but I would highly recommend picking him up for your LB slot. He gets through so much work on the left flank.

Finally, try Dzeko up top, my friend. He only cost me 4K with a Finisher chem style and has been superb. Granted, he’s got CL Perisic and Verdi around him but he’s just ruthless in the box.

Pellegrini actually replaced Allan in my line up. I felt for all the good defensive work Allan did, he didnt contribute enough in attack, his passing felt off and in a midfield 2 i felt it better to sacrifice a destroyer for more all round ability.

The 2 strikers I'm not massively fussed to change. Immobile plays exactly how I need him to, give him a chance within 25 yards and its a goal, and Belotti's 5*WF means he can shoot from pretty much any where and score, and he is more than decent in the air for crosses too (Perisic drifting in from the wing gets a lot of headed chances too).

How is Ghoulam? His low pace scares me, especially when everyone seems to have POTM Lucas on the counter attack

I'm in div 5 and still found that I did much better in weekend league so no suprise it was much easier for you.

I expect it to be even easier next week as those that didn't qualify for weekend league will have been playing division rivals against easier opponents and likely easily qualifying. Should be the same throughout the season as you no longer have to win 4 in a row to qualify, so players can just play loads of games to get in

I agree with the above, Dzeko is the must have striker below the obvious premium candidates.

I took the pack option instead of the 44k coins which proved to be disastrous during the week so haven't been able to upgrade the squad for a while.

Unsurpisingly Serie A has an anundance of top CBs and iam looking to upgrade my CBs.. from experience which of these would you say is the best? Benatia, Chiellini, Koulibauly, Manolas, Bonnuci?

I like the look of that team, how well has it been doing for you? Explain how Dzeko impresses so much, always felt like turning a bus in previous games but I like him in real life so would be nice to use him.

Just sticking to Division Rivals. Got myself to Division 4 last night. Not lost many, probably about a 12-2 record in rivals

As pace isn't really an issue now, his strength and ability in the air in remarkable and alongside his finishing makes him great. Every goal kick, I will just send it long and id say he wins 99.9% of the headers, which usually end up at one of my wingers feet.

In terms of the way the team plays, ive spent a long time adjusting the tactics to make it work..

I have 3 CMs with Nzonzi instructed to stick deep at all times, and SMS andBonaventura to play box to box, Bonaventura is surprising really great too for lowish rating, hence haven't felt the need to upgrade him yet. The wingers play at LF and RF respectively and the fact Perisic has 5* weak foot is invaluable. Hes actually now my top scorer ahead of Dzeko.

I want to upgrade my whole defence really but not sure who is the best to invest in first. Only options at RB are OTW/IF Vrsjalko and Cancelo which are expensive and Alex Sandro probably the only better option at LB?

I have always liked Ghoulam even though his ratings have been poor on previous games. I loved his 82 TOTW last year :lol: You know he has long throw trait? (he did on 18 anyway)... Fire that into Dzeko and knock it down :)

I have a prem team and the only players I really like are Rashford and Ndidi, so would be open to changing it up a bit. I think POTM Lucas is terrible

Get Manolas. He’s fantastic at tackling and his pace is enough to stop all the super speedy forwards on the counter
 
Did the Hybrid Nations SBC yesterday. Opened 1x Prime Gold Players Pack, 1x Mega Pack and 1x Rare Mega Pack, the best player was Fabregas and the rest were 82 rated or lower in all packs, shocking.
 
Is it Thursday rewards come out? Temped to just always get untradeables and use them in my team or for SBCs... or is that an absolutely terrible idea? Saying as my team is

Finished 14 wins and 12 losses in WL didn't bother playing my last 4.
So should be getting Gold 3 Weekend League and Division 5 Tier 1 Rivals rewards on Thursday, have almost 200k so hoping to have over 300k on Thursday when rewards drop. Probably won't upgrade my team until this day week where adding in next Squad Battles rewards I should have 400k to buy someone I won't need to replace until after christmas.
 
Since everyone is only posting one team: how do maintain fitness? Squad fitness? Glitches?

I'm currently rotating these two teams:

I last played FUT before Weekend league was a thing, back then it was a good strategy to buy a lot of informs and leave the good nif players for later, so that's what I'm doing: holding back to the obvious upgrades in favour of buying one or two good informs every week - probably going to buy de Marcos(if) when he drops below 20k. Is that still the case or has weekend league changed how prices develop over time?

Never really bother with rotation myself.. just buy a squad fitness card every 4-5 games.

What formation? Been using the 4-3-2-1, but struggles against teams parking the bus as the formation is very narrow.

Yes 4321, I agree at first it felt to narrow.. but adjusting the custom tactics so offensive play wide and on defensive the formation is more narrow.
Also change the wingers to get in behind and drift wide.

I have tried a few this year but have gone straight back to 41212 narrow. Set my CAM to stay forward and spam passes between my 1 STs and CAM, AI cant keep up with that

Chemistry would get destroyed with that formation, but might try if i go for a one league team.

I've played FUT extensively from the start and thebest player I've ever packed was Sergio Ramos for around 65k, pack luck in unreal.
 
@do.ob player fitness cards after every game along with rotating a couple of players

Do you play like that online? Every bastard does. It’s the most mind numbing tactic to play against. Every year EA fail to make ping pong passes and brainless reverse passes more realistic, and the result is people just spamming pass as soon as the CB gets it and next minute it’s 2 on 2

To be fair its not really ping pong as its narrow and every pass is usually around 5-10 yards and just move it around quickly. I would have high possession stats but create plenty of chances

I find that as long as you stay central and dont commit, just block lanes (either for a pass, or where they are likely to dribble) ping pong doesnt work as much.

Problem comes when people realise that L1+triangle to the wings is OP again...
 
Just interested in the age groups that are still playing FUT? I was so invested in this game but married life means I can't get the time these days. (i'm 32)

Am I missing out this year?

29 but have a child now. Manage about 15 games a week at best. Wouldn't say your missing out, its decent, nothing more. Played a couple of clubs games with mates last night... was fun but they have just given up on clubs it was so bad it was funny

I'm 29. This is the first I'm playing FUT. I play 2-3 times a week for about an hour and a half.

I would highly recommend picking up his CL card. I put an Anchor chem style on him to boost pace, defending and physical; however, without a chem style his stats include: 91 stamina, 80 reactions, 80 dribbling, 80 marking, 82 stand tackle, 81 slide tackle and a very nice 86 crossing.

I honestly can’t fault him. Like I said, he gets through a monstrous amount of work on the left flank.
