What's the best way to assemble a half-decent squad (i.e. end 70s, begin 80s players)? Just play those SBC's or something or are there other ways? Usually it takes me forever to buy one or two good players and I get bored playing with average ones, but want to give it a proper go from this weekend onwards.
It's so random. Feel like the double tap thing was brought in to bring an element of skill into it, but it's rubbish. Without it though anything can happen.
Have you activated all your coin boosts? Play Squad battles and Division Rivals each week so guaranteed 2 set of awards each week.

Haha nah he’s just been really lucky. He’s been playing FIFA the past couple of years and this is his first big couple of players he’s packed.
He’s also packed David Silva this year who’s 90 rated as well, his team is pretty crazy.

Haha.. click R3 so you go to EASFC Catalogue.. go to Ultimate Team... scroll all way down to bottom and redeem all your 1k coin boosts first and then the 200 ones. Ive played nearly a 100 a games and boosts are still going.
I just played Division Rivals and chose transferable cards as a reward. I got a bunch of 80+ players to fill my squad. Now I just have two players below 80.
You get these rewards only when you do really well in the Division Rivals, right? He must be a good player.

Nope, can only use them in SBCs.
Still worth selling them all, check their prices on futbin and list them for auction and everyone who you dont like using. Also keep in mind some players go for a lot more in certain times. 83/84 rated players will all be at least 3k for 83 and like 6k for 84s when an sbc that needs 84 rated squads comes out, sell those at that time. It's all about when you sell the players you have. But anyway it's worth selling almost everything in your club (players and position modifiers mainly). Check what they go for, then start buying the squad of players you actually want to use instead of using random shitty players.

Does anyone else concede a goal a game because the keeper decides to try (and fail) in claiming a cross, even without instruction from myself? Corners especially where they punch it about 5/6 yards straight to their attacker for an easy volley (its CPU after all) into the goal. Happens every game.
Haven't conceded from it but the keeper is actually mentally retarded yes. Had that happen at least 5 times but managed to block it.
My keeper also knocks balls out for corners when it could've been a goalkick and throws the ball three meters in front of him despite me holding the power button all the way.
The other thing that fecks me off with these fifa titles is the way they make your players absolutely brainless. If you successfully tackle the opposition and the ball runs loose, your players around him won’t go and get it. They stand and watch as the same player who made the challenge is then forced to carry on the same move and go and outrun the attacker to get it when it is literally yards away from another player. It should automatically do it for you in those situations, they are staring right at the ball and making no attempt to get it. By the time you button bash select player to try and get it its often too late and requires another tackle to get it back. Small things like that happen all over the pitch where it’s impossible to control a player so they act like they’re not interested at all.

Yep. I'm always shouting "Oh I guess he cant get it because there's not a fecking arrow over his head!"
Also when the ball is cleared from a corner and it's quite clearly going back to one of your players but that box will fecking empty faster than anything. So once you receive the ball ready to cross it back in your whole team have fecked off.

Feck me the Ultimate gameplay is complete dogshit, it's always terrible but it's laughably bad this year
Must say I'm not impressed so far. Players feel really cumbersome and clumsy. Shooting is fecking awful too.
Yeah. I will start selling them after I get my rewards for the coming week. Haven't sold a single player yet. Still not used to FUT since this is the first time I'm playing it.

I only play online and I am having 2 major issues.
1. Every time I get a forward beyond the defensive line, the defenders are all catching up even Lukaku/Hazard/Mertens (when I play with Belgium)...so so annoying.
2. So often the whether I or the opponent press and tackle (not slide tackle) to get the ball and it ricochetes all the time and somehow ends up at their feet. Sometimes it happens more for me in some games and that's the games I end up winning. Its like the game decides who should win and gets the ball to that team. Drives me nuts.

feck this game. Same as every other FIFA, speed merchant cnuts everywhere, pepper their goal, they have one shot and score. My keeper is always of Sunday league level too no matter who I have in goal.

So you guys all started with a 60 rated team on average right? I have three players above 70 and that’s it, and constantly have to play 85-rated teams who have the luxury to keep the likes of Modric on the bench. How the feck do you ever earn enough coins to have 20 80+ players?
Don't need a 85 rated team to be competitive. 15000 coinst: 10 matches with 1000*15 coinboost will get you a decent team if you look outside the EPL.
