Yup, the Giggs example is just one of countless examples of bad coding. It has never been as bad and ‘unintelligent’ as FIFA 19 (relative to technology/what people expect based on previous/other games etc).
Players very often shoot with the wrong foot, sometimes they shoot a weak shot with the inside of the foot when you want power. It’s way too difficult to tackle/intercept the opponent deep in their own half when they’ve just regained possession. For instance, if their GK makes a stupid pass to a fullback that you’re able to intercept, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be able to control the ball and go on and score. Also, when the opponent is passing the ball forward after regaining possession after a corner, the scripting helps him so that even if you have almost the entire team there to intercept the ball will just go through.
Not to mention how difficult it is to score when you’re in the lead, especially with 1 goal. It’s like players lose 20 shooting. And sometimes passing is heavily nerfed too, depending on script. And don’t get me started on AI movement. And goalkeepers, my word! Whenever they save the ball always goes straight to the opponent. And when you’re in the lead the ball can sometimes pass literally through the hands of your goalkeeper. And your players move slower and loses a lot of agility/balance when the scripting is against you. Kickoff-glitch is also incredibly annoying and it’s frankly unbelievable that they haven’t fixed it.
And that’s about 10% of the stuff that I hate about FIFA 19.
TL;DR: the game sucks.
. I’ll probably buy them back though when Robertson and Handanovic decide to get pissed before the games.
