I’m gonna settle for Elite 3 in squad battles this week. I have 8 games left, on 46k - just don’t have the will to play more, plus I’d prob bottle it anyway as I’d need to win all 8, with 4 legendary, to guarantee elite 2.
18-4 in WL, with one disconnect and one PS4 hard lock. Would love to continue on as I'm playing well but happy enough with auto qualification. Won't be in work next Friday so I'll power through most of next weeks games then.

Had my worst WL, just about managed to scrape Gold 2. Input delay is just killing me - I did some research today and found out this could be down to the fact that I play on a 10 year old widescreen HDTV, if I were to purchase a gaming monitor and play FIFA via that I should notice a bit of a difference in terms of the input delay that i'm currently getting? Just wondering if anyone here previously used to play on a widescreen HDTV and subsequently began to play on a gaming monitor, if they noticed a difference with the input delay? if so, how much?
There is such a thing as input lag. It does effect you more on certain TVs. Sometimes if you google the model number, you can find input lag references somewhere. Most Modern TVs do have “gaming mode”, which turns off all the fancy stuff to make the picture lovely, which in turn reduces input lag. Slight delays in things like FIFA and say CoD can be lethal to ones controller getting smashed into pieces..

Not around this weekend coming so decided to spend a few of my coins on IF Jesus and Marcelo before below their current average, practice with the them this week in prep for the following week. Messed around with custom tactics more as well, so will see how it goes. Current team:

Managed to get gold 1 with my last game. Cramming 30 odd games into 24 hours really screwed me over. Lost about 6 on the bounce took a couple of hours break and then went back to winning.
Think I’m going to save for Ramos and De Gea as Lloris is a massive downgrade which I didn’t expect to be so bad.

Really want to but I can only play with one striker and have Jesus. I'm tempted to try him though. If I play with two up front they end up too far wide.
This is funny but I had the complete opposite effect. I wasn't using specifically a gaming monitor, but it was far more suited to games than my TV. The button delay was noticeably worse on the monitor. I preferred playing on there visually, but feck me, the delay was obvious.
I wouldn't take my experience as a rule though, if you used a specialised monitor it'd be better I'm sure.
Looks decent as an off the bench. Only worry though is according to futbin, a trait of his is “prone to injury”. Don’t know how often that kicks in
Yeah I'm gonna have him as well as Jesus rather than instead. His finishing looks good though at 87, better than Mertens with 85 who never misses.

My input lag kills me too, you're not the only one mate! I'm sort of used to it now and don't tell it's there as I use it all the time but when I play Rocket League it's glaringly obvious. Does the gaming mode on the TV help it at all?

Won every game on legendary in first round of Squad Battles, won 3 in a row in Division 5 before going to bed. Such a difference it makes, don't know how I never realised this before. Thanks to Mr Anderson.
Honestly it feels like night and day, the game feels so responsive, I owe EA an apology.
My team for this week, have to say it's playing like a dream so far.

Does your tv have a setting called gaming mode? If not then you should buy a new one. Even modern tv's will have huge differences between their 'good quality' setting and their 'fast rendering' setting. The difference in input delay is ~instantaneous vs 0.5-1 seconds, which makes all the difference in the world.
It's insane how many people that don't know about gaming mode on their tv's. I'd say most people don't. The difference is extreme, and is definitely most notable when playing FPS games, though I'll never ever play fifa on a tv that has a lot of input lag.
I’m struggling with Jesus up front, he’s nimble but he’s just not scoring enough. What chem style could I use on him? He’s currently on Hawk.
Also Willian sucks for me, anyone have a suggestion about using a chem style on him? He’s just not as agile as a Costa or a Felipe Anderson.

Almost finished with the team I will be using at least until the juiciest prime Icons (Ronaldinho, Vieira and Gullit in particular) drop. Planning on doing the Overmars SBC and pop him in for Alessandrini when the prices for 83s and 84s drop a little bit, and maybe get Goretzka's IF, Neuer and Chiellini when money allows it, but apart from that it's pretty much set in stone.

Absolutely. You can make a fortune by being smart on the market. I've made a few million just through trading and investing so far.
Playing squad battles and FUT Champs also keeps the coins rolling in. It takes time, but it's never been easier to make coins without spending anything on FIFA Points.
Cool, getting the game next week and really want to give UT a shot this year.
I changed my kits last night, and while it seems like a stupid thing to make a difference... it really did. I decided to try and smash out my games quick, get gold whatever i could then stop. I was 11-8 then decided to use my silver rewards kit from last month when i never had time to play all my games, working under the assumption that people would take me for granted (used to get elite 3 monthly on 17 so i am decent at the game i'd say). It worked a treat, i was on 21-11 when i decided to stop for the night
I hate the design of my kits, I only use them because I feel that I perform better with them lol
You have to be both good, lucky, dedicated and you must know what you’re doing if you want to acquire a top team within a few months without spending any real money. Do the most profitable SBC’s. Play the weekend leagues and/or squad battles. Don’t waste coins on packs. Don’t waste coins by switching your team too often

I know guys who dont play too often and are not that good. They also dont trade much. They still have a better squad than i have. Some people really have pack luck to no end

Jesus was class/is for me. Keeps Lacazette on the bench. I have him on Hunter chem. Get in behind and central in instructions, shooting set to 35 on custom tactic so they concentrate on getting into final positions more rather than statically getting into good positions. Hunter trait should help with Jesus’ shortcomings finishing wise
