Gaming FIFA 18 Ultimate Team

Chatting to my friend last night who just started ultimate team, he showed me his account... just the 60,000 fifa points he has bought so far, then he told me about he was going to do sbcs for the packs.....

My mind was blown

I've got a mate with a chronic gambling problem who had been off it for a few years then started playing ultimate team. Ended up blowing all his wages one day on packs, then asked for an advance on his next months pay and blew all that a few days later. Best player he got was Pepe.

Not this year. Played my 1st 10 games last night/early hours of this morning. Only won 7 so if I had time for the full 40 that would put me at gold 1 and 1 win off of elite. I'd say I possibly should have won 1 of the 3 I lost but the other 2 I was outplayed.

Not too sure I like the patch. Feel like the game has slowed down and I have to play a certain way to win which I am not enjoying as much as the free flowing football I was playing earlier.

It would probably work out cheaper for him to actually just buy the coins for ronni and messi
 
Anyone else struggling in Squad Battles after the update? I was winning most of my games pretty easy on professional before the update but now I'm really struggling, especially against the higher rated teams. When I play on the same difficulty in regular offline mode I still win the games comfortably but in squad battles it feels like the teams are a lot better now than before the update.

Earlier today I lost 4-0 on professional... but I won 5-1 on world class the following game. I lost to the 186 team but beat the other 181 team after. It’s weird to be honest.

I just tend to watch for the chemistry and anything under 80 up the level of difficulty.

Wondering how good is Sane, i need left mid for my EPL team and probably need to upgrade the striker too.
 
Started this weekend 2-3 with 2 losses in extra time, currently sitting at 18-5 and beat someone 5-1 who at the time was sitting 15th on the european leaderboard. I dont want to count my chickens, but this may be the first time i ever finish in an elite position for WL (best finish last year was 27 wins).

Weirdly, my game plan has changed completely from fifa 17 where i had pace everywhere, to now my highest is 91 felipe anderson, then 85 florenzi and 84 perisic, other than that its all around 75-80 pace, but i seem to find more gaps and better options using slower players, and the pace teams I go against dont have an answer for it when you arent charging in a straight line

He performed crap for me but destroys me when I have to play against him.

Just done the Mane loan sbc. I'll have him for the full WL now as I've got 2 teams so should be a welcome boost. Means I can bring Martial off the bench around the 70 min mark for both teams aswell which should be a boost. Him and Sterling will likely make a lot of controllers get broken.

I figured out why I had huge gameplay issues yesterday. I've tested my internet connection on my PS4 and my upload speed is always around 5 Mbps which is crazy. It should be at around 100 which is what I'm supposed to have. No wonder it has been unplayable lately. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm currently working my ass off trying to sort it out.

My upload speed is about a tenth of that on the PS4 and the game runs perfectly. I doubt it's down to that.

Is your upload speed around 500mbps? I seriously doubt that. It’s literally less than 2% of what I get on the 4g on my phone. No way you’re playing online without any issues on that speed.

The PS4's throughput speeds have always been dreadful. Are you using an Ethernet cable or connecting over WiFi?
 
Been on a great run just now. 17-7. Defo going to chill for a bit now. Had so many draining games. I honestly don't think I'll keep this up. Not really enjoying the slog!

FIFA requires very little bandwidth. I've played FIFA on a 100kbps line with almost no lag.

Weekend league is different since you’re connected to the EA servers instead of your opponent, or something. There was a notable delay in some of the games I played.

Ethernet. It’s better now, still nowhere near what I get on my xbox.
 
Won 3 games in a row today to go 10-3 but then my Mrs mate was on the wifi and it wouldn't stop lagging so I lost and called it quits.

10-4 isn't too bad going considering I've been cramming games in whenever possible and not getting into a rhythm.

Next weekend I'm away so I'll miss that one. Gold monthly should hopefully be doable.

When I test the internet connection the upload speed is around 600kbs and I absolutely have no problems with lag or slow responsiveness. I live in Glasgow mate, I'm just glad I have internet and my health.

That's also just through the actual PS4. My internet connection in general is a lot better than it sounds.

The majority of people I've played against this weekend pause the game at kick off and switch to 41212(2) and then just ping pong their way up the field to my box. It's a fecking nightmare to defend against. EA really need to tone down the passing
 
First and last time I bother with the single player draft mode. 15k to play 4 shit games against the AI and receive complete garbage in the reward packs.

Why would they pause and switch rather than play with that formation right from the off?

They usually start 433 so that way they can use the pacy wingers as strikers in a 41212(2)

Usually to get certain players at full chem. Some formations are easier to link everyone with, others are better to play with.
 
Ending the night on 24-9. Not bad considering my shocking start. 5 wins to make Elite 3. Defo achievable.
 
Changed my formation from 433 with the CAM to 4321.

Definitely scoring more going forward, but it's a lot more direct and seems more cheesy.
With 433, De Bruyne was a monster, scoring long shots and just doing everything. In the 4321, he keeps getting MOM, but he's a lot deeper, and I really feel I'm only getting half the quality out of him. Feels like I'm wasting a 300k player.

Do I win more games, score more goals but just feel like a pass pass through ball team
or
Fight harder for my victories, slower build up, more passing and building around De Bruyne

Hmmm
 
11 for 8 and 21 left to play tomorrow. Hopefully get the 7 wins quick enough and sack this piece of shit off.

Not played UT for a week or 2, going to play it today.

I've got about a million for a team so that should get me something worth using that's half decent.
