Gaming FIFA 17

Damn United are going to be so good to use in seasons this year

Best keeper in the game (should be)
Fast, strong centrebacks
Awesome target man up front
Good fast wingers
Varied but strong midfield

I'm certain Those ratings won't remain that high though.

Marco Reus playing FIFA 17. Looks a bit too fast to me. One positive is that through balls finally seem possible. It was impossible to thread the ball through in 16.

Doesn't look realistic but it does look fun as feck.. I prefer the games to be fast paced and easier to attack.. becomes more challenging defensively. When it is harder to score just because the players are harder to manoeuvre it becomes painful and boring.

I know every single year we say it doesn't look that different, but do those celebrations after the goals really look different? or the goals themselves scored?

Who's the cockney guy in the long sleeved polo? Annoying as feck.

Not if you play on manual and stop relying on the computer's assists.
Switch your passing to manual and you'll be able to pass it EXACTLY how you want the pass to go, with the precise weight and direction for your players to run on to.

One of my biggest gripes was through balls on 16. Could never feed it between two defenders, it's either cannoned off the first defender or behind the striker. Through balls off the wing into the channel were never pulled off either, such a flawed game.

Again, it would be perfect and you would be able to get through balls the way you want them if you switched over to manual passing. It would pass it exactly how you want it to rather than relying on the AI.

I'd much rather it be slower and more realistic.

More fun and rewarding when you score a goal that way. I love FIFA 16's speed of gameplay, and even that becomes too fast sometimes when people use the High Pressure tactic and just spam the pass button with assisted passing/ping pong unrealistic 1 touch passing.

So Bayern's ratings have been leaked. but please, again, these are NOT the final ratings and will definitely be modified.
There's no way I think that the ratings are going to be this high for some of the players, much like United's.. I'm sure these will be adjusted and lowered. There's no way Neuer is going to be 94. Hummels 87, Lewandowski 90? lol... Doubt it very much..

Again, these are definitely going to change..

Leawandowski, Boateng, Hummels, Lahm all look way too high. Sanches looks a little low at 78, would probably make him a 79-80.

The only thing is Zlatan is too slow to get on to throughballs (which I've read have been reworked and now even allows for curved through balls). Might have to make Martial central to take advantage of that.

If such players like Neuer and Boateng are 94 and 90 respectively, then Ronaldo and Messi will probably be 95 and 96..

I don't think they will be the standard ratings, like the same as the ones in ultimate team. They seem way to high. In past FIFA games did ratings in seasons mode change depending on form? Maybe its something like that. I probably wont be buying it anyway, cool though if we have high ratings.

Muller 85 and Rooney 86 is hilarious.

So, Just watched some videos on this and I've noticed with this new Fut weekend league and squad builder you can earn rewards, such as a purple David Villa card.
So what are these cards? are they better than the normal card or is their a reward to it?

This isn't actually true anymore. A few years ago Manual was pure manual but since they introduced skills games Manual still has some auto assist resulting in the ball going to defenders etc same as it would if you were playing on assisted.

I've never had that issue yet at all. If it goes to a defender, it's always cause I've aimed it there. In fact, I often use manual passing to finish goals off too when I'm trying to slot it past the keeper on 1 on 1s while pressing R1 to give it a little pace. That's how accurate manual is as it does precisely what I want it to.

Any source on it not being pure manual anymore? Cause I don't get that impression at all...

Will try and find a source, I've played manual since 08 but it's definitely nowhere near as hard as it used to be.

just home from work and wanted to play, expect that this will take a fecking age

Played 1 game after I got it downloaded. Kick off and FUT are available to me. Played Manchester United vs Liverpool at Old Trafford on professional difficultly. Few things from it...
1. Graphics are fantastic
2. Play feels more smooth
3. AI seems to be more intelligent
4 the added features like mangers on touchline are a nice touch
5. Beta still has last seasons kits
6. No Pogba at United

Is the Beta out for everybody already or did you guys get some sort of early access?

I love it and this the beta. The graphics are amazing. Best I've seen for a football game. Nice little details all over. I got the career mode beta. Computer seem much more Clever than before. Haven't seen any time wasting in the 70th minute... Yet. The thing with career mode is the ratings are completely broken. For example I'll be united when the main game comes out so I went with Real Madrid. Benzema is supposed to be 86 yet his rating in the market changes to 60 and he's worth £1.2m haha. The prices for many players need improving I was able to sign Mahrez for £15m. I'm pretty sure this will be fixed in time for release. This is why betas are a good idea.

Another nice little touch... You score a goal with Madrid at home and it Plays there song like it does in real life. Not sure if this will happen for any other teams. The net physics are much improved also

That gameplay reminds me of FIFA 13. Fun to play, but not really the direction they should be headed.

Really liking this!

I played one single player game and 6 Pro Clubs games last night and thought it played much, much better than FIFA 16 - loved it and looking forward to playing more games.

  • the control feels more natural - it's hard to describe, but your player feels more grounded - you push the stick and it feels as though your player begins to move in that direction, rather than simply starting a sequence of animations...
  • it feels less scripted - with the previous FIFA sometimes you felt like the game had already decided that the ball was going to go a certain way out of a tackle - this feels more real and unpredictable, which is very good
  • the crossing seems to have been improved - less aimless crosses for the goal keeper to simply catch and more going to areas that can be attacked by the forwards
  • the graphics look excellent
  • AI seems smarter - was cutting in on the wing and about to play a ball across the box, then saw Ibra drop off his marker so cut the ball back to him and he scored. I felt as though in previous games he would have just continued his run straight into the box.
  • stamina seems much better in Pro Clubs - your player isn't a knackered wreck at the end of the game
  • passing and shooting feels crisper
  • the match ratings seem fairer - I got a couple of man of the match awards despite someone else scoring more than I did - assists seem to be more rewarded EDIT - in one game on the RW I made one assist and my match rating was 9.3 - pretty sure that would not have been possible in #16 :)
With regard to Pro Clubs, I just tried the drop in mode - so haven't created or joined a club yet so not sure what is different on that front. Will give that a go over the weekend. I had to create a pro to use - and not spent too much time on that part so far, but looks pretty similar to #16. Making my player 5'8" was still the optimum height to make him as fast as possible unfortunately. I did see more progression in my ratings after each game - last game felt a bit random - you would improve your passing suddenly after hitting 50 crosses, for example.

Sounds great, and will most likely play great until EA patch the shit out of it to accommodate for the teenage FUT ping pong playing bitches.

True - the final games always takes a step back from the demo.

But at least this time the engine itself is new - and I think a lot of the improvements in control and feel are down to the engine itself.

I think the past few FIFAs have been good to play out of the box, but once updates are released, it continues to become worse and worse.

The scripting in seasons is horrifically bad in FIFA 16 though. I remember going on a winning streak of 12 games, just needed one win out of my last 3 matches in Div 1 to win the division, and then went on a losing streak of about 7.
