Gaming FIFA 17

These are pretty good:

Club Personalisation

This is a staple of any good game which allows communities to come together and work as a team, players want to be able to identify themselves with their friends and make themselves unique in the massive online world that these kind of games provide.
  • Crest and Kit customisation
The club badge and kit are the most defining pieces of your club, there is a lot of creativity possible here as well as some potentially bad ideas so restrictions would be necessary, but it worked for Call of Duty emblems so I don’t see why it couldn’t here. I personally never feel too attached to the club we are using in Pro Clubs, most of the time it’s just because we like their kits. I made a quick (and bad) mockup of what we could expect to see from this:

  • Consistent player names for AI players
This is more of a personal gripe, I think it’s silly and great at losing immersion in Fifa having the players in your club switching through a cycle of 50 or so names every game. They are never the same player, being presented with a squad of 20 or so computers, a few for each position and customising where and how they play would make Clubs team feel a lot more relatable. It would be an incredible improvement to be able to select specific player types for certain positions in your AI controlled areas to suit your playstyle. It may even be interesting to have real life players fill in around you, which could perhaps be fleshed out into a transfer market much like Ultimate Team ($$$), allowing you to purchase players for positions in your club through Club Funds.
  • Player development
Allowing player and AI controlled players to get upgraded on performance by performance basis. Both in terms of general attributes and also skill moves/weak foot. An extension from this could be that the fixed AI mentioned in the bullet point above could have their own accomplishments to work towards (albeit easier than a normal players) in order to improve in certain areas, making their progression feel more personal to the matches you play. Attribute decreasing over bad performances/relegation could be an interesting counter-point to having maxed out Pro players for the duration of Fifa. This would enable your pro player to become an ongoing project rather than maxing out and not caring afterwards.
  • Attribute choosing
This would need some constraints to prevent 99 pace 99 “stregnthtt” abuse, but allowing us to choose whether assisting 10 goals allows us to improve our crossing, curve or passing for example is a good idea. It would allow you to decide your play-style if you want to play like Matic or Ramires for example as you progress with your pro.
  • Formation/role customisation
Career mode and kick off matches have a whole host of customisation available to tweak team setups in even the slightest way, but even those game modes could be even more detailed. It’s almost insulting how small the catalogue of customisation Pro Clubs has to offer.

  • Club progression
As you improve and win trophies/divisions or sadly get relegated your club's facilities, players and fan-base improve or decrease with your performance, giving a fluidity and outside world to your matches; yes stadium choice is already an option but it doesn't really do much outside of preventing snow/rain/shadows and looking pretty in opening cutscenes, which we all grew tired of on day 1.
  • Captains, Vice Captains, Set Pieces
Pre-match settings should allow you to choose your captain/vice captain (should the captain get sent off), set piece takers (for different areas of the pitch) and your substitutes etc. What I seriously don't understand currently is why the captain’s armband is always on a computer player, despite having a captain choice in the position select screen.
  • Substitutions
A set of computer substitutions should be made available for the team captain, perhaps allowing players to be subbed on mid-match if they were unable to player for a bit; instead of having to wait for the match to be over and reserving a position for the next match.
  • Club Funds
Introduce club capital, value, wages and scout/loan contracts. Take some ideas from career mode and optimise them for a Pro Clubs equivalent, allowing us to choose what to improve in our club after success on the field.

Drop-In
  • Rating-based vote kickingif a player wants to score own goals all day.
  • GKs play in goal, others outfield, no switching 5"5 ST in GKduring setup and ruining the game.
  • A solution to people sitting in drop in lobbies screaming "Looking for a ST" or "Looking for a club" over and over whilst everyone else waits for them to leave needs to be found.
  • Develop it into more of a training scenario, perhaps on a famous training ground instead of some huge stadium as that is essentially what drop in is used for.
Practice Arena
  • A multiplayer arenawould be a dream, would allow you to practice set-pieces and other tactics without pressure.
  • It would be great for goalkeeper practice against 1 on 1 situations/squares. Have your attacking pros face up against your defensive prosfor good practice in one half of an arena pitch (This would be seriously fun to do).
  • Multiplayer skill gameswith your club, enough said on that really we all know how good that could be.

Gameplay (Not totally Clubs specific)
  • Prevent AI from being easily bypassed with 'super-skilled' diagonal mad sprinting to the wing and back in.
  • More personable interactions between players: You want to be able to celebrate with your mates - not all over the place trying to find where the camera-angle just fecked off to.
  • RB/LBs are all over the place currently.
  • Computer GKs need a quick releaseoption for counter-attacking.
  • Player switching on set pieces shouldn't reset player positions for pros, I hate having to run to the same spot several times when it keeps going to a black screen for a player switch.
  • Stamina - Those guys that sprint everywhere for the entire game yet still dominate in the 90th minute with blistering pace need to be punished more.
  • Injuries need to have more thought put into them, a 5 minute in-game time-out rolling around on the floor is quite lame.
  • Blue and green afros as well multicoloured boots need to negatively influence pace. /s
  • Allow spectating, if a club player joins while the match is in progress, allow them to spectate, watch the match, then auto-join for next match, makes it far more entertaining than just waiting on the match lobby screen for your team to finish. A continuation of this idea should allow players who have to leave their console for 5 minutes but know that they will be back mid-match could start on the bench and when they come back they can get subbed on by the captain, instead of waiting for the match to finish.
  • Have an option for your clubto not have match countdowns after one match has ended, some of us actually want to read the information and watch replays on certain highlights. It's incredibly frustrating when it just ticks over into another match unless you quit.
Cup games
  • Add varietyto the cups, not just some shitty weekend thing which has no originality.
  • Add meaning to the cups, make the cups something you really want your team to boast about and strive for, big tournaments could be a possibility not just some R16>Qtr>Semi>Final>Shitty Silver Cup in your pixellated 'trophy cabinet' routine.
Player stats
  • Clubs needs a good stat-trackingfeature for all of the important aspects of playing each position, CBs need tackle win % and fouls committed per number of tackles easily viewable as an example. They also need to be easily compared with other players in your club and the world/region of your club. The leaderboards for these kind of things are pretty shit currently. I'd love to see as a striker what my goals/games ratio is like compared to other strikers in the UK or our clubs current division for example.

  • To those of you who often switch clubs to play with different friend groups you may relate to being frustrated that your club stats are reset every single time you leave and rejoin, I think that these stats should be kept in the club and hidden until you rejoin and they reappear - almost as if you just went on loan to another club. Some of us, myself included, get attached to our stats and it is incredibly frustrating to lose it all when you want to play with another group.

I read that EA have said they have big plans for Pro Clubs mode in FIFA 17 and they will reveal more at Gamescom at the end of August.

Playing with United will finally not mean an automatic loss on Seasons online. Pace on the flanks and two long range shooting beasts in Ibra and Pogba. Can't wait

Wow we might actually have a fair rated team for once!

Wow they haven't done Lingard and Memphis any favours

It'd be nice if the player faces had some emotions too this time round. Instead of just running of celebrating with their mouths open.

I do wonder if Pogba going to be a big part of the story mode if you choose Manchester United(it seems Harry Kane plays a major part regardless). Or is it too late for that.

Proper excited to play with United on this now we've got every players face and players like Rashford, Martial, TFM, Pogba, etc...

Wow finally a fifa that might be worth buying. I really felt like I was missing out last year when the whole caf ps4 crew was on pro clubs all the time but I'm glad I didn't buy it in the end what an awful game.

Hardly though. What's that much different?

We won't be doing the same accomplishments from FIFA 10 for starters.

Creating your own kits.

It's a start. Would like to see them let you customise your default players. Have a training pitch where you can work on set pieces. Allow you to create custom formations.

Buts it's a good start.

So much has changed since it was introduced! Kit creator, badge creator, new accomplishments based on your match rating.

I think it's the first time it's significantly changed. It was more likely the mode would be removed than updated, and hopefully this shows EA is finally ready to consistently updates Pro Clubs year on year. It's a great concept and could be more popular than FUT. The only problem is it's not the cash cow FUT is.

Im not denying it's changed, but it's not that spectacular. They could do a whole lot more. Seeing as the player match rating system is severely flawed I don't think it's the best way to build your player up. The kit creation is a nice touch but they're not even branded. The customised badge is a great addition.

But that's it. Those three things really.

I don't give a shit about the visual side of things(kits, badges) they're things that will be irrelevant after week 1. I want some sort of collective progression other than getting promoted, that will give you something for your club to work towards.

For the past five years when I've played pro clubs, we usually see how long we can go unbeaten then make a new club and do the same again. There's no reward for maintaining a club other than a record that nobody cares about.

They should make the any players actual players, give you coins for each win/promotion and allow you to buy better players with the coins. Put legends at the very top level. Boom, progression!

A lot of the accomplishments are a joke btw - so many are unrealistic/unachieveable. The current player creation system is also stupidly shallow. Why can't I have a tall fast player?
