Gaming FIFA 17

I found Sturridge disappointing. He's not as nimble, quick and agile as Vardy or as robust and dominating as Lukaku.

Yeah but he combines the two well. Quick enough to get away from most defenders but can actually finish from distance unlike Vardy. When I had Aguero Sturridge was still out scoring him.

I've just moved on to Lukaku from Vardy and I've found him superior to both. Sturridge feels too sluggish to get in behind while he gets shrugged quite easily too. I'll grant you his finishing but Lukaku does it all for me. He's also brilliant with a LW and a RW either side of him set to "get in behind" as he wins everything in the air and glances on headers brilliantly.

I'm finally happy with my team though, got SCREAM Payet on the left and Mkhitaryan on the right of Lukaku, TOGS Gungogan and Pogba both set to "get forward" in a midfield 3 with either Matic or Kante. The passing and power through the middle has changed my fortunes hugely, they all charge forward so well and the quick passing and movement is so acurate now, I'm actually really surprised and impressed with how much better they feel as a team as before I felt the Ultimate Team player stats were actually a bit of a fad.

Also, against the PTB deep defence teams having Payet, Pogba, Gundogan and Lukaku all capable of leathal long shots is a big help while Payet and Mkhitaryan's crossing to Lukaku, Pogba, Gundogan and Matic has really broken that game mechanic for a lot of negative teams I've faced. It's an absolute joy putting a cross in and seeing the huge frame of Lukaku charging to the ball and breaking the net with a header

@Pexbo I understand what you mean which is why I play Costa and Sturridge together now and with a 352 crosses aren't as frequent so the big target man isn't necessarily needed. I'm considering putting Vardy back next to Sturridge so that the pace is back. Rooney in cm is top aswell by the way for those ptb players as his long range strikes make them step up quickly.

Classic

Got this beauty recently

Some absolute doorknobs do send hate mail.

Played FUT all morning, trying to get it out of the way, 25 wins, 4 games left ..... no way I'm getting Elite 3 ..... :nervous:. In all seriousness, this FUT Champions mode isn't good for your health. Started at 7 this morning and finished at 2 this afternoon as I thought I was going to have a stroke.

Yeah it's a proper slog init

Finally won all 40 in the weekend league.

Was dead tired at the end.

This mode is torture.

Yeah, had 3 very tough games in the last 10. Managed to pull through at the end.

Was worth it haha.

Can you post your reward opening? Love a good pack opening, I do

You have to play 40 games in the weekend league?? feck sake. Who the feck has got time for 40 online games in one weekend??

Nah you don't HAVE to, but winning 40/40 is just a good accomplishment.

You only need to play 5 minimum to get a prize. Obviously the more you win, the better the prizes.

Some achievement, well done.

Do you do all that shit the Youtubers/pros do though? Back out because of Est. date, kits and all that nonsense?

Because I've played FUT from the start, it genuinely takes me about 5-10 goes to get a game. I've only just realised it was due to having an early date. Honestly find it so lame that people hand pick opponents based on that. It's a shame it doesn't show the username of the person till it's past the kit screen or I'd tell them how fecking sad they are

Is that why it's so hard to find a game when playing weekend league? I must get at least 5 people backing out every time before I manage to start each match.

Yep, apparently all the twattish Youtubers/Twitchers/Pros do it so the rest of the community do it too.

I've got a 2012 Est. date and sometimes it takes me half a dozen attempts to find a game. It isn't latency either, that would be understandable, I've never seen less than 3 green bars.

I've noticed YouTubers and pro's having a bronze bench as well. 3 gold players on the bench who they use, then fill the rest of the bench with 45 rated bronze players in the hope of getting matched with lower rated teams. Pretty lame. If they're so good why can't they face anyone?

Are they actually good though? I've never watched them play but if they're using every off-field exploit for an advantage, I assume they're just the best at exploiting the games AI etc.

Are they skilling their way through defences, scoring screamers and tiki-takaing teams or just, you know, giving it to Musa and letting him do his thing.

Oh man, I am sour as feck now. 1 game left in the WL, 24 wins. 1 win needed for 2 100k packs. Nothing but smooth games all day and come across a laggy CNUT in my final game and lose.

You don't get 35-40 wins if you're not good. They obviously use everything they can to their advantage, alongside having a mega team.

Haha they eventually swap back to high press and switch back when they get the ball. Really sad.
Playing it from the off seems really sad to me, IV had a few in the last few weeks, 2 tonight, I went up in them and just passed it around my back 4 untill they changed, ended up with 70% possession in both, it's a boring way to play the game but if they want to play this way I'll play my style of anti football as well.

Weekend league is awful. The amount of switching formations to abuse chem and the counter/defence tactics just make it an absolute nightmare to play. I've not managed 40 games once and usually end up on about 13 wins from 15 games then stopping for the sake of my own health. Also seem to have developed a problem where I lose connection to the EA servers despite no problem on my connection and getting a loss. Think I've got 14 wins this week and that's me done

That's not why people bronze bench.

They do it to lower their team rating to avoid the 'handicap/scripting'

People believe 83 or above causes your team to 'not perform as expected'

Fair enough. Never believed in scripting myself, despite the numerous amounts of bullshit encountered in games.

The only 'cherry picking' I do is not play away games, because I don't want to risk playing on the SA server.

Only messing. Well done on 40, that's class. You qualify for the reigonals?

I did qualify for the Miami regional, but private issues prevent me from making the trip, so I won't be able to go unfortunately.

35-5 this weekend while going 39-1 last two. This has ruined my mood for the rest of the week. This game is so stressful and annoying.

The professor is good at FIFA too?

Makes sense.

What team you got?

What does everyone think about the 'momentum' and 'adaptive difficulty' code found within FIFA 17 that is doing the rounds on reddit ATM?

Personally, I've definitely felt something afoul in this game compared to others. I've played Counter-Strike professionally, been a Div 1 regular in FIFA/PES seasons since online was introduced and in recent years (since FIFA 15, or so) I can 100% tell the game engine attempts to balance games.

Kind of pathetic really - I've played about 100 games of PES and 400+ games of FUT (all online) this year and whilst the FIFA matches have me smashing controllers (65+ possession, 4 times more shots on target from clear opportunities) the PES games I never feel any wrongdoing by external factors.

How Kevin / Eddy_JukeZ have maintained such a high W/L is beyond me.

Also, AI defending should not be present in a pay2win, competitive game.

I really suck while being under high pressure. Advice?

Change the pace of the game. Switch to possession so your players make themselves available for the pass and learn to do short passes and use your back line to switch the play.

When they're using high pressure tactics, its harder to use pace and dribble but a succession of quick passes can exploit them for space as their players are constantly being pulled out of position as they press.

Cheers. I'm not bad by any means but it is always a high-pressing team that executes it well that ends my winnings streak

10 back-to-back titles in online seasons with 45-10-11 stats. Just about to break into division 1.

I was quite lucky not to smash my controller last night around 5 or 6 tap ins in 1 game, I went really sweaty and the keeper was pulling off miracle saves from 2 yards out, they go up the field cut my defence and yep in cue the controller being launched.

I'm only 1.5m coins away fro my dream team. .......

:(

Fingers crossed I get something good from my WL rewards, like a Ronaldo, so I can sell him. That's not going to happen but I did get a walkout last week. 87 rated Sergio Busquets. He sold for 30k ffs.

I think it's inevitable that at some point EA are going to have a court case on their hands. There is clearly intentional mechanics in the game designed to either level or imbalance the playing field. That would be fine but for the fact it's pay to play and many people have invested money in the game for an advantage that seemingly might not exist.
