I've had it happen when trying to shoot before. It's because he's strongly left footed so he's trying to spin round and play it with his left foot. In that time the players intercepted it and scored.

My Sturridge used to do this if I tried to finesse on his right foot, learnt to stop trying in the end :lol:

Glad to see this sort of BS even happens to the best though :lol: unlucky
 
Good lord I wish I could win pen shootouts. 8-4 and all lost on pens. Every single one of the games I threw away too :lol:
 
First season with Arsenal. I bough Pulisic and Belotti, but i am struggling to score goals, despite i usually play well and create a lot of chances per game.

His stats look ridiculous. Especially that 89 card just not sure if it's worth the added 200k. The 89 card I can afford and still make my 2 teams I think, but it might be pushing the funds a bit when I buy everyone I plan to. The 88 card I should have the 200k to spread across other players, so debating on doing that. Hopefully Mertens puts in a really good performance this weekend, his price fell to like 700k when he scored a couple because everyone thought a new IF would come and now its 850k which is the same as Messi. If he does then I think I'll get the 89 one. If not, the 88. Both look stupidly good.

Also side question, who do you use as the CAM out of Dybala or Mertens? That's the front 3 that I'm gonna use so not sure which is better suited to playing top.

Dybala in CAM, yes. In the 4-1-2-1-2 variation. Sometimes, if I feel it's not clicking, I'll put Mertens in CAM during the game, only because his long shots on either foot are OP. Think Adriano from PES 5.

I wish I heeded my own warning. Just threw the dice on the ultimate one. Cost 60k to do and I got 40k back. Minimum return on every one and about 70k lost. I'm a mug.
 
Just played against someone named Thrandarson11. He's a footballer in real life and has got a 92 version card of himself. True to form he scored a screamer against me. Lost 3-2 in the last minute to a goal he scored with a version of himself.

His team to start with was

Same he was a proper bitch aswell. I went 2 up before conceding all 3. He proceeded to dab and shhh away and hold the ball up on the corner after his goal!
 
I don't think I'm going to bother with this WL. 2 matches in and I got disconnect, both matches were horrible lag and its just all too annoying.
 
This is the last game I'm paying (not WL) completely unplayable. It's about 15fps and I've got zero chance tackling anyone the input lag is so bad.
 
I think I've broke fifa. I switched it on today to play fifa seasons. It starts off on the home screen of seasons saying I've no games left in division 1 messing in relegated. Then after every game, win lose or draw it says relegated to division 2 as if it's stuck on the last game of division 1.

If i go into current season it is recording my results and has my current form in the new division at the top. I'll get to the end of the season and see if it corrects itself. Anybody else had this problem? I think i unplugged my console before it had fully shut down last time maybe, as when i turned it on it has the warning about not shutting it down properly.
 
Beat Liverpool 2-1 in the Carling Cup 4th round. They were god damn awful like in the real football :D. The funny thing is that i am the only big club left the competition :D

Purchased IF buonanotte as a back up, never heard if him but he is fecking class. Literally like a cheap messi. His shooting lets him down but such a play maker

I never complain about lag but this weekend has to be the worst I've experienced. Just utter tosh and impossible to defend when theres half a second delay.
 
I just played against someone who defended with his striker. And I don't mean he defended from the front. Every time he lost the ball he would select his striker and sprint back into the DM position and let the AI defend for him. It was like coming up against a brick wall every time, soo frustrating. Scored in the 87th minute for a 1-0 win though and you bet I ran around the pitch celebrating.
 
I fecking hate it when you perfectly cut off a passing lane but your player does one of those automatic lunges and the ball rolls between their legs.

It's the most blatant example of scripting. "Defend properly? Nah, their player gets the ball anyway because we say so."

Yup. The thing that's pissed me off the most recently is the AI doing stuff you don't want them to for corners at both ends.

Defending corners: the ball will be going straight to the player you are controlling and you plan to head it away up field and then up pops the AI with one of your other players and heads it behind for another corner.

Recently Kante has been a pain in the ass for me, three times he has cost me by glancing it back across the 6 yard box and two of them have ended up with Milner cheating in and own goal. The problem is if I choose to control him he's rubbish in the air.

At the other end I aim for Lukaku and there's so many times it's going straight towards him and fecking Smalling comes running in and heads it over. It's infuriating, there's too much AI in this game. The fact it's best to defend with your DM and let the AI defend says it all.
 
Just went in to my custom tactics and apparently defensive live was set to offside trap with high pressure and aggression... would explain why it seems so easy to get in behind my defence. Changed the settings and won 4 on the trot in the WL now. Far better.

Not at all.

I've used mata normal card for 43 games and he has 26 goals and 20 assists. Don't know if I play better with him because he's a united player but he's the best CAM in the prem for me and I've used them all.

Plus I try buy all special United cards each year anyway but mata will definitely go into my team and replace the normal version.
 
Can imagine the guy I just played smashed his tv :lol:. Think he hit the post/bar maybe 5 times in the first half without scoring and then I score with my first shot at the end of the half. Second half he hit the post once but other then that I dominated the whole half and missed a few clear cut chances, but the first half was ridiculous.

When I saw his team before the game and how the game started I had basically accepted a loss and wasn't really bothering to focus much as I was on a decent winning run, but the goal gave me hope. He had Ronaldo, Messi and SBC Suarez as his front 3 so it was a bit ridiculous how every shot from every angle was going so close.
 
I've lost 8 games so far and 6 have been fecking on pens. Infuriating when I miss my chances in the game because I know I'll lose :lol:
 
Absolutely flying this afternoon, won division 2 at a canter when I've usually struggled in that division before.

Game felt so smooth and no lag for me today which was a major reason why it went so well IMO.

It says I've qualified for the weekend league now, does it mean that's for definite or if I drop back to 2/3 will I no longer be able too?

You're qualified for the next one for sure, even if you get relegated.
 
I never bought into that scripted shite until I played this.

I can go 20 unbeaten and win Div 1 and then suddenly see the responsiveness in my gameplay go so far off the mark and lose 15 in a row without a fight and find myself in Div 3/4.
 
Finished tonight 20-5. The ELO system wasn't kind as I came up against teams with multiple TOTY players about 10 times or so. Some proper aids moments in there that caused me 2 or 3 losses but in hindsight I should be content considering the quality I came up against.

Hopefully tomorrow is better in that I get paired up with shite players and just have a pleasant time. :angel:

From 7-6 to 15-8 today. Who knew that park the bus was the way to go. I'm not gonna finish all 40 games again, but on current form a gold 2, maybe 1 finish and then i'll call it quits for the weekend
 
Threw away a good 5 games last night, the whole game felt so stale and I didnt want to bother playing but had loads of games to go. So im on 9 wins and 10 losses after being 8-4. Sold messi and the laliga players to bring in 89 Mertens, dybala and others to fill the teams. Highly doubt I'll get anywhere close to the 40 games, have 21 games to play and won't get to them until later. If i get to gold 3 Ill be happy enough. Just had no time to play the 40 games normally this weekend after barely touching it on Friday.

The no time to play thing is always an issue. I work in hospitality, weekends dont exist in my world unless my rota gives me a day off on a weekend somehow or i book time off. Last weeks extension, even by one day gave me a chance to finish the games around my work and family. The only complaint i even saw was people arguing that it gave more pros a chance to hit 40/40 because their games were more split up. But for the average joe thats not ever going to be something we really care about
 
This game is shit. People just run straight at my defenders with slight changes of trajectory and run right through me because I can't defend. I was the king of FIFA 13 but I just lost 8-0.
 
Just had an extremely enjoyable Career Mode for the first time in a long time.

Started with Blackburn on legendary, promoted immediately then won the league on the first attempt which felt a bit unrealistic but anyway! Had a limited budget but I got 4 academy players and built them into the mid-to-high 80's. Stuck around there for just over 4 seasons in total, winning the Champions Cupand a few leagues in the process.

Then went to Villarreal who surprisingly had a like €80m to spend per season. Built an excellent team there ranging from 85-88 across the starting XI. Left after three seasons having won the league twice, the Champions Cup once and the Copa Espana or whatever it's called once. Only failed to win the league on one occasion because I simulated a good few games, just wanted to win he Champions Cup at that point!

So now I've joined Juventus with.. €384m to spend and a wage budget of over €4m. Just stupid really. They already had a class side, made it a bit better and tbh my motivation to continue is completely gone. Players who are pretty young in real life are now retiring and the best players are becoming made up ones. Just feels a bit silly tbh.

Going to have to start another one I guess, but I think I'll wait a while. Might buy online back.

That's some serious dedication that. I normally don't even make it through a single season on career mode before getting bored.

In fact I don't even think I've started one this year as I just can't stand playing against the AI.
