Gaming FIFA 16

Even though the games are region free you can't access the online part of the game if you get it from a different region. I once bought the UK copy and couldn't go online from Bermuda. I needed the US copy.

I couldn't really give a toss who's on the cover tbh ive not looked at the cover for years

Scousers are such a strange bunch. You just know those over at RAWK took 30 mins out of their day, each and every day to crank up the votes.

Henderson is such a weird choice, Im guessing Phil Coutinho and Sturridge must be Pro Evo guys & they didnt wanna be seen anywhere near the FIFA cover :p

Wait henderson is on the cover.
How did that happen?
Liverpool fans voting for their "star" player. Either that, or they just want some sort of representation in order to avoid the dreaded irrelevance.

You could only vote for Henderson, Kane, Courtois or Aguero. Liverpool fans spent endless hours of sharing posts and spreading the word of 'Hendo' to try and get him on the front cover. It looks slightly hilarious having Henderson next to Messi, but oh well.

It was never a contest really, because the fans of the teams the other three players play for barely qualify as fans.

Which makes it even more hilarious.

Seriously, though, you'd think that the neutrals would vote for a proper star like Aguero, at least, but whatever, Canada would only have the international cover anyways.

Aye I think out of the four only Aguero can be put next to Messi. It'd look all Argie though but who cares!

I seem to remember us hijacking another online poll last year that they were trying to monopolise.

So, who thinks the best thing about signing Depay, Schweinsteiger, Darmian and Schneiderlin is the prospect of playing as us on Seasons on FIFA 16?

In 15, I only play as United head to head online. Now that the season is over and the season debuffs. 4321, maria and adnan are tearing it up. I can't think of anything more beast than fellaini, Schnei and schwein in the center. Only downer, Rafael has been stupidly good for me in ever fifa despite his low rating. Falcao is an excellent super sub.

Saw an image of the FIFA 16 cover on Twitter and thought it was from some wag's parody account. Embarrassing for EA but fair play to LFC fans for being obsessed enough to rig a video game poll to feel relevant.

I don't think Henderson is the primary reason it looks bad. It's just awful looking cover. It genuinely looks like a bad photoshop.

Some decent new stuff in this. In particular, I like the defensive AI to losing the ball, and especially the possibility of controlling the angle of low crosses. That's a must for us players who like accurate long passes into the area instead of a generic high cross or low inaccurate drive.

The only thing that looks decent is the improved low crossing in behind the defence.

Everything will be abused to feck, and there will still be games that end 5-5.

I'm expecting the same old shit from last year, which was the worst edition for a long time.

No, I think this will progress similarly to FIFA 14. Those of us who wanted to see gameplay improvements would love it, but your usual FUT kids will complain about the slower pace of the game and cry for a faster-paced game. The developers will then roll out a patch within a month or 2 that will up the pace of the game and make it feel like FIFA 15 again just to appease to the FUT kids.

I really hope they don't make that mistake, though. FIFA 16 seems to address most of the issues, though some of the things that could become abusable are the slide tackle recoveries, AI defensive support, and zippy passes.

Is that what they did for the XB1 version of FIFA 15. Something definitely changed with that game about 2 or 3 months in. Definitely.

The pace seems higher, and every player on the pitch can run non-stop for 90 minutes which leads to pressure abuse.

It looks decent. The biggest single problem of FIFA 15 was its pace, gameplay mechanics were all right and if they had actually slowed the pace by 30% it would have been a good game.

I don't know about gameplay changes to FIFA 15 as it always felt like this to me from the beginning, but I do know that they made massive changes to FIFA 14 a month after it was released. FIFA 14 went from being one of the best FIFA's for a while to the usual boring game.

You see, I still enjoy going back to FIFA 14 on the XB1 (which was a totally different game to that shite they released for the previous gen).

Looks like decent improvements, but I really hope that they won't improve the defence to the extend that the CPU does all the work.

It all sounds good - and sounds like they are trying to focus on the actual mechanics, and not gimmicks.

But, at least playing pro clubs online, it seems to be the same issues: Opposition AI being way superior to the AI of your teammates - them intercepting every ball and always being in position to block you, whereas your own defenders exhibit matador defending; randomness of shot (and pass) power; How every loose ball goes to the opposition no matter what; how they have a basic lack of understanding of pace - your players seems to slow down when trying to reach a through ball, while the defenders suddenly speed up, or how you have to be 5'8" or under to be fast - which then means you will lose practically every header you 'contest'.

Increased defender acceleration to top speed? As if having 90 pace/acc wasn't irrelevant enough in Pro Clubs with 6'3" defenders just strolling past you to nick the ball.

Fifa would be 10x better if they just forced manual controls on everyone.

A month in and we will all find faults with it and curse EA for them.

Tackle recovery seems like such a daft idea, I wonder who even came up with something like that...
It's better than slide tackling now where unless you're within a yard of the attacker, the player does a generic arms out, front foot stretched, ridiculously annoying tackle.
