Wow, the marking looks much better and more realistic now. I'm quite happy that it's not just flat-footed defending. I'm also happy that the defenders can realise the danger much better now. Now I don't have to move the defenders around myself. However, they shouldn't make it so that everyone can mark like that because not all players have a good marking technique. Seeing Neymar mark Bale like in the video seemed really awkward as I wouldn't expect Neymar to defend like that, ever. I'd expect him to be more flat-footed and square to the player, but that video showed something else, and I'm sure this will promote auto-contain as well as the "Park-The-Bus" defensive approach even more.
The "slide tackle recovery" is worrisome to me. It's rare to see defenders actually recover from slide tackles like that, and I'm of the thought that you should be punished for throwing out a slide tackle as it's a risky move in itself, so to allow players to recover from this just takes out the risk from slide tackling. Expect players to frequently throw out slide tackles frequently to make gameplay more annoying. Missing a tackle should be punishable, not tolerable.
Nick Channon's focus on "interceptions" in this demo seemed a bit too much given that the AI already does it, but if they added in the ability for the controlled player to be able to intercept passes rather than throw out a "tackle" to intercept a pass, I'll be happy with that.
I hope that we can also control the long shooting. Sure, they brought back driven long shots, but it still seems like it could be random.
I just hope that the defensive improvements actually make for a more balanced game rather than having everyone rely on the AI to defend for them. I just have that gut feeling that everyone will try to park the bus and go on the counter in FIFA 16 just to circumvent actually defending. Plus, they should make auto-Contain as primitive as possible (i.e. square, flat-footed defending) rather than bringing in the new marking approach to that in order to prevent people from not actually trying to mark.
That was me being pessimistic about the defensive improvements. If I were to be impartial, I'm glad they brought in these improvements as it means that players will be less likely to rely on just dribbling around and will actually have to try to play football.
That slide tackle recovery thing should really be a special trait.

This game badly needs a graphical update for snowy weather. Biggest eyesore in the game.

Pique's at the last defensive line, though, whilst Benzema is behind it. Why would Pique want to move with Benzema when C. Ronaldo at Barcelona's last defensive line? Plus, you do see the right back recover and get close to Benzema anyways.
