Gaming FIFA 16

Hardly anything in premier gold packs for me. Open a standard gold pack, and out pops Griezmann.

It's a shame that 98% of people playing Pro Clubs are wankers. It could be good otherwise.

everything seems so slow and labored compared to last year's rendition, especially when you're dribbling. I guess you could say it's more realistic but I'm not really liking this so far.

maybe I'm just not used to this yet.

I always doubted your comment. Now there is proof:

From videogamer - "45 per cent of physical FIFA 16 sales were on PS4, with Xbox One accounting for 36 per cent. 13 per cent came on Xbox 360 and six on PS3"

http://www.videogamer.com/ps4/fifa_...weeks_no_1_but_physical_sales_are_down_7.html
Doesn't dispute my comment. There are still a lot more PS3 users than PS4 users.

Very small percentage of PS3 sales but maybe there's a reason for that, you know the game being shit? It's also still very early days. Game has been out less than a week. It's more likely that the people who buy a new generation of consoles are also more likely to buy new games right away.

Be grateful you didn't open 50 and sell nobody for more than 7k

Just seen a few shots of this on the ITV News (something about women's football and FIFA).

The graphics are awful. I was a bit shocked at just how little they've actually come along.

The graphics are nowhere close to being awful. Your TV must be shit.

It gets a bit boring constantly playing them I find. Simulating is really quick and gives decent results though.

I've not been prompted to do it yet, a couple of games into a pre-season, I must be missing something obvious. Liking the game so far, but I've not played one in a while so I'm having to work out all the little things that make the play look 'natural'.

It's underneath the "play match" button. You don't get prompted!

Somehow picked up 2 Martial's for 1.1k each in the space of about 5 minutes  his normal card is extinct aswell so sells for 19k BIN instantly, decent profit. So many people must've been fecked over by the default buy it now being the lowest now instead of how it was last year.

Graphics are very good. One thing it's very difficult to complain about with FIFA is presentation.

It was someone playing it on the news you ponce. Like a TV is really gonna change the actual graphics.

I've thought it for the last few to be honest. They're not where I thought they'd be at this stage.
Things look good for the playing cam, can't deny that, but for the many closer up camera shots the graphics start looking very unrealistic.
I can't comment on Fifa 16 too much, just what I saw on the news and the close ups looked pretty shocking.

Defending has always been my biggest strength in FIFA, and after a lot of adapting (and games), I've finally perfected it. The key is patience. I'm used to putting a very high pressure on the opponent throughout the pitch which worked very well in FIFA 15, but dribbling has now become so easy, and there is the new 'passing with purpose' as they call it which makes it much easier to play against teams putting a very high pressure. Instead, I let the opposition further up the pitch before I close all the channels while pressing the ball carrier. Luckily there are far more interceptions in the game which wins me the ball very often if my opposition is impatient, so that's compensating a bit.

The difference between FIFA 15 and 16 is immense, something I've learned especially when playing against tougher opponents. I like the change though, pace-exploiting is finally extinct.

Imagine thinking that the PS3 version should be the one that they dev for. "The PS4 version is better!!" .. yeah because it's the current generation, not a 9 year old console.

I hate the fecking game. Div 2 in FUT is filled with Messis and Ronaldos and the lot, against my 50k team. The best players are too overpowered.

I just made it do division 9 by losing 5 out of my 10 games and not winning the title. :( You seem to have bought a pretty good team for 50k if you are already in division 2. I am still setting up my team and after exhausting all my money the best player I have is Antonio Valencia.

At this stage, it might be easier to avoid building Premier League teams. Most of the players are still way overpriced and you can often find very similar Italian or Spanish players for considerably less coins.

Also, if you have EASFC XP Points, go into the catalogue and purchase as many coin boosts and loan players as you can. At the moment, I have Rakitic, Godin, Griezmann and Sneijder on loan. I came up against a guy in Division 10 last night who had virtually an entire team of loan players, including Ronaldo.

Thanks mate for the suggestion. I only watch the Premier League so my knowledge of other leagues is very limited and hence I do not get much fun out of playing with unknown players. Hence the PL team. I will be trying the loan players however. I have a Messi on loan, but saving him for important games where I must win to avoid relegation or clinch promotion. I will start using my other loan players though.

Still not fixed the bug of your pro being substituted in be a pro mode when controlling the whole team.... That's like 3 editions now...

Blimey you won't change your view! Yes a lot of people have a PS3, but a lot of them will have moved over to PS4 now....hence only 6% sales on PS3. Simple as that mate! With low sales like that, they won't bother with the old generation soon I hope

Feck how do kids get these players without buying coins?! I'm up to division 5 now with my crap BBVA team relying on Vietto and Bebe up top. Managed back to back promotions from divison 8 but wondering now if i'll start seeing these wankers with coin bought teams.

I finished outside the top four in career mode with United, but finished 5th, in a Europa spot. Wonder if that'll save me from the sack.

Playing career with Villareal (I work for them and thought it would be nice to do another team once, instead of United every year). Such a fun team to play with! Sticking with their 4-4-2 formation only shifting the strikers slighty behind each other and with 2 holding midfielders and 2 wide ones. They are missing some squad depth (if one of my DM's falls off, I have to either play someone out of position or rely on a 18yo. But besides that, no complaints. Board wants me to finish mid table but am aiming for top 4.

I started a career with Wimbledon and can see a fault which isn't ruining the game but definitely make it a bit more challenging at lower league level.

The goalkeepers being improved was fine, but it seems that instead of improving it on individual stats or their ability, all have been upgraded, so it's really difficult to score when you're playing with 60ish players even though you're playing against keepers that are league two level. I'm finding it really hard to score one on ones. It does make it a bit more tricky though as with Everton I managed to finish 2nd in the league in the first season (on world class) but it is a bit irritating at the same time.

The wankers can buy coins again, due to the price ranges being very wide. But it's expensive as hell, £20 for 100k.

This is my team, cost me around 90k but can be a lot cheaper if for instance Naldo is replaced. I think it's immense value for money and it should take me straight into the 1st division and win me the title as well.

This is my other team, it's cheaper and a bit different from most teams, but it's as good as my 1st team, at least for me. That 70 rated attacking midfielder is my best player, believe it or not. He's 158cm/5ft2 tall and dribbling with him feels like controlling Messi. And yeah, my RCB, Casco, who is actually a left back, is right footed. LvG would approve!

Nice team, i particularly like the second one. How does Correa play? I was looking at getting him in my BBVA team. He looks a decent dribbler at 86.

My prime aim is to eventally get Benzema and Griezmann up top with either Koke or Isco in the hole. I've always played 2 strikers in Ultimate team and seems to work a charm.

I have to admit i love smashing those 86 rated teams that have blatently been bought...I often have Bebe doing the double arm swing up to the camera shortly before they rage quit.

Correa is really good. He's got enough pace, a very good shot and he's amazing on the ball. Suits the left attacking midfield position perfectly for me.

A trio of Benzema, Griezmann and Isco/Koke sounds deadly. I'll probably make a similar team when I eventually win the 1st div with my current teams.

I don't think playing against online players who constantly abuse certain shortcomings of the game is that realistic to be honest. Last year after 2-3 months every game looked exactly the same.

I will play shitloads of games against human when my friend come over as well, and we can adjust sliders too. Having full PL experience with all stadiums is sort of great.

Online definitely isnt realistic, since people sit there and abuse everything about the game, but its competitive and thats why i like it.

However, the whole slider thing with a mate is fantastic, never realised you could do that! Ill give it a shot thanks.

Whats everyones take on referees? I literally touch no one in the box, since ANYTHING can result in a pen, even my AI assisted defender.

Does anyone have a good formation to use in career mode? Playing with United with no signings. Crashed out of Europe horribly (finished last in my group) but are doing ok in the league, in 2nd at the moment. Playing on world class with sliders as people recommended here in the thread. My biggest problem is creating chances, I haven't scored more than 2 goals in a single match so far this season. Defensively I'm doing well. Currently playing a 4-3-3 offensive with some instructions and it has worked better then Uniteds starter formation, but still not good enough attacking wise.

Been playing 3-5-2 for a while now in the Championship, and it's really good. The version with CM's, that is. EDIT: That's 3-4-1-2 in UT, apparently.

The midfield are a little too aggressive going forward though, reckon I might get torn apart in the Premiership when promoted, unless I switch to the CDM version. For now the overloads in attack are lovely.

The LM and RM are fantastic, will drop like wingbacks to defend, despite my player choices not being naturally defensive.

United have a fantastic squad for a 4-3-3 with a CDM and two CM's. Schneiderlin behind Schweinsteiger and Herrera is very nice.

Why don't you use a variation of the 4-3-3, where you make your wing forwards, midfielders?

4-2-3-1,4-3-2-1.

Ever Banega is the best player in this game. Good passer, great dribbler, excellent free kicks and long shots. Overall I really recommend building an Argentinian team in UT. Biglia and Garay are also really good.
The 4-1-4-1 formation is working really well this year.

This is also the first time in years that I've bothered with career mode. The training feature is actually fun, enjoying it so far.

Anyone really comfortable with the scouting and transfers in career mode? Does it start to make sense at some point? It's going be tough bringing Pompy up into the Champions League if I can't find a few gems.

To be honest, you're probably best off youth scouting. Best source of regular quality, cheap, and for a club like Pompey, you can have lots of players for a season or two on 500 bucks a week. With the training you can have a few grow incredibly rapidly too, so they can make the first team quickly.
