Gaming FIFA 16

4 games online, 2 of which have came up with an error message online after I won both FUT games and then I get given the loss. Some things never fecking change

Tell me about it... I was actually frustrated when playing it tonight as most of my games are ending 0-0. I can't break down the A.I's fecking defence. Even when you win the ball in the oppositions half, they cancel you out.

I have actually managed to get myself to February without simulating any league games (I have simulated a couple of dead rubber CL ties and went out very early in the cups). 24 games played and I'm 10th with 33 points but if I took my last 10-12 games in isolation I would be fighting for the title. Still if I win my game in hand against Arsenal at home which is coming up next I will be only 4 points behind 4th place and I reckon by the end of season I might do it.

I bought Muller for £65m in January. Martial is coming up nicely but he's not ready to win me games yet and Muller has already won me games at Anfield (1-0 with Muller scoring the winner) and Stamford (2-1 win, Muller opened the scoring and then won a penalty in 88th minute which Rooney converted to win us the game). Trouble is I still managed to draw 1-1 with Southampton at home despite creating tonnes of chances and lost 2-1 at Newcastle with Muller in squad. Obviously title is out of reach with my points tally but I reckon 60 points will secure CL and for that I will need 27 from the remaining 14 games - that's 9 wins, difficult but possible. I've had a few dominant performances lately and if I could consistently perform at that level then I will probably make it and keep the job.

Absolutely loving the career mode. The pace of the game is just about right (could be slower), difficulty level after adjusting sliders is perfect, presentation of Premier League is absolutely wonderful and feels like an actual game. I might actually switch to offline for this year.

I'm getting zero enjoyment out of the single player in this game. It's just so boring.

Career mode is tedious as feck. Every game tight as hell

I'm enjoying career mode for the first time in FIFA. Games are tight all right but aren't they meant to be that way? Well, if you're playing Sunderland or Norwich at in good form then you can make it a route but you're not really supposed to run away with victory against Chelsea, City or Arsenal. I like it this way, even away to Bournemouth and Leicester are great challenges and great games in its own way (actually I barely managed a 1-0 win at Bournemouth and drew 2-2 at Leicester despite dominating them completely and having a very strong finish to the game).

Any of you guys play co-op seasons?

Me and my housemate play a lot of co-op but the matchmaking is pretty poor. Wouldn't mind striking up a rivalry with a few off here

Same here. I went for world class right from the off, and at the start of the season I was barely getting chances in. However, as I played more and more and got a feel for the game, it's looking better. Even small teams require good concentration, you get no-where by trying the old ping-pong route, and lofted through balls don't get me 1-on-1 chances anywhere near as often.

CL was a bitch for me, and I failed to win my first two or three matches... in the end I met the contender for the 2nd spot in the last match, having 3 points less and a 4-goal gap in GD, which I sorted out by winning 3-0, with only a few mins to go.

*** rush! ^_^

Anyway, I'm leading the league by a narrow margin, and games are pretty tough affairs, even if I win by good margin. I find myself deprived of a clear shot by waiting that split second too long before shooting, and the teams seem quite adept at pressing collectively, but when you manage to link a few quick passes together and break free, it feels really rewarding. And every now and again I manage one of those long curving Carrick through balls setting an attacker off in the opposition 3rd.

This game is a big fat leap forward in footy simulation, for me.

Rooney and Mata can do the lofted through balls. But they are much slower and higher and can be read very easy.

I had an e-mail saying I have requested a login verification code last night. Has my account been compromised? I did request a code on Sunday but not Yesterday.

The Ultimate Team pricks aren't stooping to that level are they?

Feck, decided to have a go at the Arsenal game before work - bad decision, only managed a 0-0 draw despite creating quite a lot. 34 points from 25 games and 6 points behind 4th placed City (10 behind Everton in 3rd). Still possible but very difficult. Luckily I am yet to play City at Etihad and Everton at OT so maybe with two wins there I could still put up a decent fight.

My start of season goal was to get a top 4 finish and I'm still in contention but what happens if I don't deliver? Are they going to sack me immediately? I still have Champions League (playing Paris in last 16 in a couple of weeks) so maybe a good run there could still save me? I've been on a good run since November, it's the first 15 games that let me down (at one point I had a 2-7-5 record - that's two fecking wins in 14 games). Converting goalscoring opportunities has been a big issue but I've seen improvement in that area lately.

Stoke, Watford, West Brom and Palace coming up next, 3 of them at home (West Brom the only away), before I play City and Everton. 4 wins on a trot would probably put me in a position where a win over City would elevate me above them and a win over Everton in the next game would do the same. Muller, Depay, Rooney and Mata will need to be firing at all cylinders and I will have to rotate wisely (for instance I already know I'm going to play Herrera and Martial combo against Watford).

Indeed, even when I win 3-1 or 2-0 it's still after a very tight game. I had to tone down goalkeepers to 45 on sliders though because I found them unbearable, I don't really want to be playing great football and constantly attacking only to be denied by wondersaves 7-8 times in a game. This happened to me in Stoke away game around Christmas time, I had all the possession, got hit on the counter, then equalized and squashed them in the last 30 minutes to the extent where they couldn't leave their penalty box but just couldn't score as Butland was pulling wondersaves. At 45 it's much more realistic, the likes of Courtois will still save more or less everything going in their direction but normal goalkeepers will let in some of the good shots.

The game is still too fast though. A lot depends on how you dictate the pace with your passing and no two games are really the same in that aspect but once it gets going the speed sometimes becomes unbearable. I will find myself trying to calm things down by passing it a little more in midfield and slowing down, usually works.

They've been adjusting sliders here: http://www.operationsports.com/foru...ders/855682-fifa-16-os-community-sliders.html. Seem like they are a good community for these sort of things and address most of the issues I have with the game - it's too fast, the AI passing is too fast etc. I will try using their sliders settings later today, not really convinced about slow settings though, I feel the game is too slow although this is impression from 15, maybe they've changed it in 16. Besides do they mean 10-15 minutes a half? I can't play that long! Actually 8 minutes would be cool though. I manage to complete 6 minutes per quarter on NBA so there you go.

Really excited about slower passing and weaker goalkepeers in these settings. If slower pace of the game works it could be great and I'd probably not move to online, like ever.

Is their any way to change half time in offline ultimate team?

Fifa to me is all about playing against someone, not the AI which is just so unrealistic.

Online or multiplayer anyday.

Well, I was of the same opinion last year but after toying with these sliders, pace of the game etc. the game is so much more customizable in offline modes and it actually seems more realistic once you nail the settings. On default settings it's still a decently balanced game this year but once you tweak a few things it looks much better. I can't wait until I try these community settings, they appear to be exactly what I'm looking for in this game looking at videos.

I don't think playing against online players who constantly abuse certain shortcomings of the game is that realistic to be honest. Last year after 2-3 months every game looked exactly the same.

Presentation of offline modes is absolutely top notch. What I've been looking for is difficulty level similar to NBA 2K16 where every game would be tight and depending on how you approached it could result in several different scenarios. Seems like with a few changes I'm getting there.

I will play shitloads of games against human when my friend come over as well, and we can adjust sliders too. Having full PL experience with all stadiums is sort of great.

I'm sniffing around 4th place too. Battling it out with Liverpool and Spurs, which is pretty realistic. I just can't shake off the constant 0-0/1-1 draws though. I suppose it's a positive I'm not conceding, but I need to bloody start scoring.

I brought in Mane from Southampton who's lightning fast as a CF and forked out nearly £50m on Ramos.

I wanted to get Stones but I was really intent on getting Muller as I was struggling for goals more than I was struggling in defence, and Bayern asked for £65m which was basically my entire budget. Since then I managed to get £11m for Valdes and a few more million for the likes of Lingard and Powell so I imagine I will be allowed to go for Stones in the Summer if I don't get sacked. Muller was crucial for me and he's proven so far that he was well worth the buy, he will probably give me 2-3 seasons before I replace him with Martial who has been developing nicely (I'm heavily focused on him in training, already took him from 77 to 79 and he'll be 80 soon, Depay and Schneiderlin have been coming up nicely too). Shaw and Darmian are incredible full backs BTW, particularly show who is so good at full speed dribbling I just love to glide past defenders with him! Already won me 3 penalties and provided a couple of assists as well as a great goal against West Ham.

I will update slider settings in the late evening and try playing on slow, with 8 or 9 minutes a half. Current settings are fine but if I could tune the game even better then it'd be superb. I will definitely decrease passing speed and increase first touch setttings plus further dumb down goalkeepers as I fully agree with what they've been saying in that forum - goalkeepers should be able to pull wondersaves once in a while if they're De Gea or Neuer but they should also make complete blunders from time to time, on default settings or even at 45 I'm currently using it's still way beyond their expected capabilities.

Same here but from what I've heard the online is broken. Any confirmation on this?

I don't know if it's because I'm on Professional difficulty (I'm shit at fifa) but I managed to buy Stones for £10 million. So much for them making the fees more realistic!

For those that want to see how well training works in career mode, this is after a season, i simulated all of the training sessions...

Butland - 77 to 79*.
Funes Mori - 75 to 77.
Stones - 77 to 80 - Probably could have been 81/82 but he was injured for 3 months.
Besic - 75 to 79.
Deulofeu - 78 to 81.
Barkley - 79 to 82.
Holgate - 61 to 66.
Berahino 76 to 79*.
Galloway - 65 to 72.
Browning - 66 to 69.

*Bought in January.

These are the players i mainly had on training sessions. Basically it gets an extra rating to what you'd probably expect them to grow but in the cases of people like Besic and Galloway who wouldn't grow aswell in career previously it's a great feature.

I got £20m offer accepted. Didn't try any lower.

Getting £11m for Valdes was also not very realistic but these fees are still better than Newcastle offering basically an equivalent of £40m for Di Maria in PES. At least I don't notice players like Neymar going to Stoke here, fees I don't care much about to be completely honest. I still won't be able to build a wonder team for £30m.

It's fantastic for the newgens, I've been pushing guys 8-12 ovr a season, meaning they can be brought into the team as useful squad players, if not more.

Aye, at the end of the season i put 2 newgens on it and they were gaining a rating each week. It's when they hit 70ish that they need to be playing also to make sure the training sessions make a difference.

Yup, but I'm quite happy to bring them in to the team once they reach that level.

Hell, at the Championship, I've been happy to bring them in at 65.

Heh, seems faster online today O_o Maybe its because I'm tired. Also, why does every fecking Draft team bar mine have fecking ronaldo and neymar?

I want to develop Pereira to an extent where I can bring him into the team but he won't really go far without training and I don't have slots for him because I'm busy taking care of Martial, Depay, Schneiderlin and Shaw who I want to mould into true world beaters.

I also only realized around November that I had to train players. Martial would probably be in 80s by now if I had realized that sooner. Still at 19 he has plenty of time, I'm thinking in my 3rd or 4th season he's going to lead the line for me with Muller dropping to bench/behind striker at 30.

I ruined my career mode already with Everton after the first season. It's still too easy to buy players with big potential for nothing and completely change your squad within a window. /Restart.

I haven't played a single one. It's really quick and useful, IMHO.

Do you not find it irritating having to set up 5 regimes each week? It would be nice if once setup, the players selected stay on the same regime until you make a change.

Just go into it and click triangle to reload the previous weeks settings.

Just seen a few shots of this on the ITV News (something about women's football and FIFA).

The graphics are awful. I was a bit shocked at just how little they've actually come along.

Im in febuary in my Watford career. Im joint top of the league so i think next season ill take it up to world class. I did make some good signings and im quite solid defensively. Definitely enjoying the game, i have never played more then one season in career mode on previous FIFAs which is a testament to the new one. Really enjoying it this time round, especially the dribbling on the ball - just feels more responsive.

I like simming the training sessions, i only really concentrate on my younger kids as i will probably sell most of my older players in the summer.
