How long is live season going to be down for ?
Hopefully a while yet. It was extremely poorly implemented last year and i can honestly say i haven't missed it this year.
I played a few matches online over the weekend for the first time as Manager Mode is getting a bit boring now.
LOVE IT. Didn't have one laggy game, played loads of 2v2 with a mate and we really enjoyed. Everyone seems to choose Man City now as well which is great because we usually hammer them playing as United or Arsenal.

Manager Mode is so retarded. I've kept 5 consecutive clean sheets and my defenders are still rated as orange with downwards arrows. I just beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 4-0 on Legendary as Blackburn and I get no improvement to my reputation as a Manager. Playing the MM for an extended period of time really shows how shoddy some parts of the game are.
Been playing MM for 3 seasons and the only real issue I've had is the phantom transfer concern, which admittedly is pretty huge. But it seems the patch will fix it... I've tried to carry on regardless but each transfer window is 1 step forward and then 1 step back when I realise PSG have taken 2 of my players for free. So far Giuliano, Fazio and Eagles have all had free transfers away from my Watford side. Its been good and enjoyable apart from that. I'd have a good side if it wasnt for that issue.

Just had the the best online game I've ever played on FIFA, was fantastic.
I was Man City (Don't judge me) and he was Arsenal. He takes the lead on 31 minutes with a Robin Van Persie strike and the for the rest of the half I push on for a goal but don't get it. Second half starts and after only 4 minutes I level, Tevez worming his way past the fullback and smashing near post. Then on 67 minutes during a scrambled corner Micah Richards pokes home to give me a 2 - 1 lead, and on 76 minutes Almunia takes out Robinho and I get a penalty which Gareth Barry converts to make 3 - 1 to me.
Here I am thinking the game is done and dusted when Van Persie drives home unexpectedly on 84 minutes, I start defending frantically and he plays a great ball to Walcott who slots home to make it 3 - 3 on 87 minutes. Here comes extra-time I think, nope, I get up the other end and beat the fullback with Ireland, my cross evades everyone except Robinho who is waiting far post to tap in, 4 - 3 on 89 minutes, game won....Nope, he then goes for it from the kick-off, more frantic defending from me and he manages to poke it home with Van Persie on 90 minutes. 4 - 4, Unreal.
Cue two extremely end to end halfs of extra-time, I bring on Wright-Phillips on 105 minutes and on 120 minutes I beat my man with him, pass to Tevez who does an excellent shimmy past Vermaelen, gets to the by-line and hangs a cross up in the air. I see little Robinho charging into the box, diving header into the corner to win the game. 5 - 4. Was mental

Pardon me for going at it again, but this one is just too good. I was 1-0 down, and I had a good attack. As usual I missed my 1-on-1 (ish), but the rebound fell directly into the path of Valencia, who just had to pass it into the goal. Unfortunately, the game had decided that Valencia was upset about... something. That Rooney missed the chance, maybe? Or that he didn't get the pass? Either way, it prompted an unskippable "cut-scene", with Valencia throwing his hands into the air while ball rolled slowly past him.

I just had a tremendously satisfying game. He chose Barcelona, so I decided to play Real Madrid for the first time. We both had lots of good passing, lots of good chances, and several good goals. We also both had terrible luck at times, hitting the post, the ball going just wide, etc. I'd like to think it would be as satisfying even if I hadn't won 3-2 in the end, but I imagine I would have been rather annoyed, particularly after hitting the post twice in the last 10 minutes, and with him a defender down and chasing a goal. Unfortunately he didn't want a rematch.
I've had some great games online, but the only that compare to this (not including games against Caf'ers) were a series of games against some random guy. We played 6 games, 3 for him, 3 for me, and tho a couple were quite unbalanced, most of them were great games. This was in the middle of my worst shooting period, and in the game I finally started hitting more than missing, I won 7-3...
These games are why I play online. I don't really care about the ranking, I'll never be near the top anyway. It's also why I ended up playing only unraked games on FIFA09, since no one quit and most games were great fun. Very few quitters on ranked at 14-15, though.
