Because City are really good to play with.
They had this at HMV earlier, so I decided to play FIFA for the first time in donkeys
I was impressed to be fair. It plays much better than the last version of FIFA I had (we might be going back half a decade or more here), it has more of a 'pro evo' feel to it. Things that particularly impressed me: the tackling, I like the way you can muscle players off the ball; player strengths, I like the way players have different skills, and those that don't have pace aren't dwarfed by those that do if they have something else going for them; the pace of the game itself, maybe a little ponderous at times, but I remember FIFA being mad dash, it was a much better pacing
I played a half as United against Wolves, and being out of FIFA practice I lost it 1-0. I didn't get much chance to test the shooting, which I remember as a particular weakness before, in that you simply score the same goals each time, there's almost a method to it. So I don't know if that's still the case
All in all, as a dyed in the wool Pro Evo-er, that was some considerable food for thought. Shall look forward to Konomi's response

I've found thats true at first. But if you then finish making the player and wish to change some stats afterward, any points that you dont use end up dissappearing and you cant use them again. So probably best to dump any excess points in things like consistancy and the goalkeeping stats, in case you want to use them later on. Or you can just re-make the player with unlimited points again.
On this note, I decided to go through be a pro mode with Obertan to see if it would allow you to keep the extra points you collect like in 09. I cheated a bit and changed his nationality to Serbian so that there werent international matches. I played a handful of games to get Obertan as a "squad player" for united, then simmed the rest until the 4th season where I transfered him to Burton Albion as the captain, simmed most of those matches too although I was playing him as a striker and made sure he was top scorer for the season. And then after 4 seasons, he kept most of the extra points I had collected for him. Transfered him back to United, gave him a severe speed increase (he's 74 acceleration and 74 speed at first) and now he's a lot more like his real self. So the same way I managed to add points to players already in the game in 09, works for 10 as well. Doubt I'll use it often but a slow Obertan was a bit annoying.
You can only use your new and improved Obertan in SP and unranked games though can't you?

Just took my "Virtual Pro" online in a random game, I was in Torquay I think as a CM, versus Real Madrid, we went 1-0 down in about 3 minutes thanks to the dickhead who decided to pass to their striker as the goalkeeper.
Then yours truly scores a stunning volley (which i got an accomplishment for) to level the score.
The game ended 3-1 to us, I scored 10 out of 10, and got 2 more accomplishments aswell.

Unbelievable. I just lost a game online because my keeper decided to gently roll the ball to their striker, as opposed to throwing the ball with all his might into the path of my counter-attacking winger.
I'm fine with losing when I'm outplayed, which happens now and then, but when it happens because the game is being a spastic..

Great, was winning 5-0 and EA disconnects me in the 94th minute.

Nah, me too. Although I havent played it online nearly as much as most of you guys so that may be it. I've only just got my xbox back from microsoft so. Still, I'm yet to encounter anything annoying in the game that I didnt do myself. I've made mistakes and rightfully been punished for it but thats about it.
I like the game in general but I seem to get someone sent off every second match for a perfectly good tackle. It really pisses me off. Also, I find it hard to improve young players even if I play them consistently.
Not sure about the young players. Do we know for sure that playing them in the first team improves them at a quicker rate? Or is it just over time regardless.

I've had no glitches online. I've been disconnected once but that wasnt EA's fault, it was my Virgin Media that went down.
Hate the game as usual, just doesn't give me the feeling Im playing football. Don't like how you work out how to play and you just end up using the same tactics and moves all the time to win. The AI is rubbish. Controles are fiddley. All gets very boring. Positives: Graphs are brilliant and so is the presentation. Visually it's superb.

I keep getting them for good tackles. Evans just got sent off for me for winning a clean tackle as the last defender. I couldn't even see any contact with the striker, even in slow motion.

I then received a message saying that other clubs were interested in my two new players. As if by magic these two players then vanished from my squad!

The players disappearing issue only seems to affect lower league teams for me. If I play as united Idont get this issue.
Hopefully the patch will fix most of the issues (fingers crossed).
I noticed a lot of the people having problems are playing it on Xbox. Domzi, cw and NiMic seem to be the main ones and I'm pretty sure they all use 360.

The problems I have aren't glitches, just annoyances with the game itself. That's the same for Domzi too i think.
So who here is shit at headers? I can win them but I'll be fecked if I can get them on target. In fact shooting in general seems to switch between rocketing in and trickling wide. Not sure if it's where I am aiming or a random factor.

Yup, the game is just absolutely fecking shite. I don't like anything about it at all. It's a shame there's no good football games to play anymore with FIFA and PES both being steaming piles of shit. That said, I'd still much rather play FIFA then PES which is even more infuriatingly bad.

Unfortunately i agree to a large extent. Although FIFA10 isn't completely shit, it does still feel like a step backwards.
im on xbox and havent had any problems, although ive only played exhibition, be a pro seasons and pro club championship modes
