Nearly 1-2. We are a bit shit. Pep would be shocked to see this.
I can't begin to understand why we let them have that much space in our half and constantly defend 4 against 4.

Alonso and Sanches are worthless the way they are now. Alonso can't even get into position to play sideway passes, he's absolutely invisible. Maybe we can get a Boateng cameo in the 2nd half, move Kimmich up and get Thiago in there.

He got ridiculously overhyped on here, couldn't believe some of the stuff I was reading.

He looked much better (still far from perfect) during the EC, but he can't place a foot right at the moment. He's still got time.... Alonso doesn't.

I said time and time again I didn't quite get the hype. He ran a lot, tried to dribble a lot and has a good work ethic as far as I can tell but he didn't seem to be THAT special considering the hype that surrounded him. Then again he is still 18 so only time will tell how good he really is going to be.

You have to wonder what the basis for this huge transfer sum was, though. Even at this early point in his time at Bayern.

Just to point out: Missing Alaba and Lahm is huge

So far Renato hasn't been impressive at all but he's so young and Reschke saw something in him, so I think we should be patient. Usually I wouldn't judge a signing before he's been with the club for a whole season and even longer with such a young lad. He's still a kid after all.
Alonso and Rafinha are annoying me much more and will hopefully get some coffee during the break!

And then not playing Kimmich in Lahm's position is plain dumb. Bernat and Rafinha do not connect well with Ribery and Coman.

Also, City looks good. Their manager seems to know his shit.
*sheds a lonely tear*

You know, I always thought Utd fans were dreadful when losing....insane OTT reactions up above. Bayern will absolutely walk the league, and these kind of performances happened with Pep too, given I lost at least two accumulators in his era due to them

Yeah, we're way more OTT than the OP in "Was this the worst performance of all time?"

feck me... I take everything back and claim the opposite. Sorry Xabi.

This is what we call a "fettes Teil"

Edit: Neuer redeems himself

Slightly better strikers on Ingolstadt's side and we'd be at 2-3 at least. Makeshift defense is no excuse for this lack of stability. This is Ingolstadt and not Dortmund.

Boateng returns, wins the ball, initiates the counter and it's 3:1

Boateng on the pitch and he immediately starts the attack for the 3-1

Super shaky but I'll take it. Neuer saved our ass after his first blunder.
Lets just hope we never have to rely on a back four of Rafinha - Kimmich - Martinez - Alaba again

Edit: Bernat, not Alaba

Well it's a small sample size, theres like 4 Bayern fans of which all of you seem to go absurd so compared to what a few thousand United regular posters where like 1 in 10 go a bit insane. Seems to come more from fanbases spoilt by success and ones that have been or have enjoyed truly massive boom years of success.

Our pitch is a bit shit, isn't it? Not just because of the rain, it looked like that since the season started.

No need for redemption, I have no idea why you are blaming him for the first goal

I knew I'd miss him, but still it hurts.

We struggled with them a lot last year, too. Some people have really short memory.

The game is won, that's what counts. We had to replace a lot of starters today, and Ingolstadt played really well. Credit where credit's due.

Me saying I miss Pep is neither about having a short memory nor about not giving Ingolstadt credit.

I just feel taken back to the LVG and Jupp (minus the last 4 months) times. We're relying on individual quality and not a concept.

It's simple: Pep spoilt us.

Yeah I was surprised about that as well. It looked this bad straight from the beginning of the season. How could that happen when there was no one playing the whole summer?

So Ingolstadt played well? That's nice. How did the likes of Gross, Roger, Cohen, Leckie, Morales, etc play?

Last year we won the 2nd match against Hoffenheim in the last minute and the 4th match against Augsburg in the last minute with a questionable penalty...

The first CL match against Piräus we weren't great either - there was just that "wonder cross" by Müller and the last minutes with a goal and a penalty which that match let look like easy going.

But - after that start there were great matches until the November international break and some injuries.

People forget easily especially if the matches get won at the end in fashion. The Bundesliga is not that easy even if at the end (of the match and the end of the season) it looked so smoothly...

It's difficult to judge anything yet, especially since Ancelotti had to make do without Boateng who is one of the most important players for us to perform well. We've clearly missed his defensive stability, but also his ability to initiate attacks. Apart from that: 6 games, 6 wins, 23 goals, 1 conceded...

WHy are you guys surprised.

Portugal parked the bus and played conservatively, which allowed for all of Sanches strengths to be on display. Sanches is a teeanger that's long term goal is prime Vidal and I don't expect a teen to be prime Vidal now... Ideally, when Vidal ages/loses battles to injuries, Sanches should get the green light for the starting 11

On a site note, bayern have been very unimpressive so far... It's a good thing that they have zero threat to winning the league title, however, the team is nowhere near the team Pep put out in his first season.

That's not really true though. We lost the Supercup 2-4 against Dortmund and in the Bundesliga it was

3:1 against Gladbach
1:0 against Frankfurt
2:0 against Nürnberg
and a 1:1 against Freiburg

with a team who had a full pre-season, no major tournament in the summer and almost all players fit.

I agree that Bayern doesn't look like world beaters right now and Ancelotti has a lot of work to do, but it's not that bad.
