Often,I find that when I make what I consider to be valid criticisms of Man Utd I am accused of being a WUM,which I suppose goes with the territory here for any opposing fan.

Unlike Davo, who I would say is a legend, Frenchie and a few others, you Mr Gillespie contribute very little to this forum besides snide remarks and consistent WUMMERY...It's the likes of you who have kick started this debate of excluding non United fans from the United forum.

Shame!

You are entitled to your opinion but i beg to differ

Most posters are died in the wool manc devotees and the opposing fans provide the spice to the debate.
Try and see if you can develop some plain old fashioned common sense:rolleyes:

Well the main thing is that your happy.

Actually,I do.....though I am not sure what you're getting at here unless it's a pathetic attempt at abuse.

Im just amused about you using a word in a wrong contextt, how would my joy at seeing you happy be paranoia?

Personally i think yourhelping our point, the fact that you think this place is fine must ring a few alarm bells in mod towers.

We were having a decent debate about the pros and cons of opposing fans in the United forum...

Please get back to the subject.

Thanks in advance...

You are an idiot but I will explain anyway.

a)You are not and would not be joyful at me being happy....so that's wrong
b)You said the 'the main thing is that your (sic) happy' which clearly is an attempt at irony.....
c).....meaning you believe the mods somehow bend over backwards to indulge opposing fans like me to the disadvantage of true (sic) fans like yourself....
d)....which is clearly paranoia on your part
e)QED

Does the fact Gillespie thinks this place is so great not tell you something?

I've said my twopennorth and no more to add,let alone continue responding to idiots.

So I'm off to a nice cup of tea.I suggest you do the same.

See you all in a proper thread somewhere else :)

Should make all the contributors proud...

Thats clearly a pop at me, and let me tell you this much. I have earnt my rights to have an opinion. OK its not what you like to hear, but thats the way it is. Just because people say things you dont like it doesnt make them necessarily an idiot. Its called having a difference of opinion. Only a "spastic" is incapable of listening to others views and debating them.

I can take the pro- fergie arguments coming from United fans, but theres no way on gods earth I will even enter into a debate about Fergie with a scouser. Thats the big difference.

But surely everyone has earned the right to have an opinion? And don't give me any of the shit about how you have more reason than 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of reds on here to hate scousers. Just as you told someone that they have no idea where you were born (although I noticed you didn't confirm you were actually from Manchester), you also have no idea of other people's reasons for their feelings.

You say that people may not like your opinion, but that doesn't matter to you. So why are you so upset about rival fans posting their opinions?

Basically, you don't care if people agree with you, but you hate it when they say something that you disagree with. So when you say that only a spastic is incapable of listening to others views and debating them, why do you want to ban any supporter of another club?

Anyway, I can't think of a single rival supporter who wishes as much harm on Manchester United Football Club as you yourself do. Your comments about hoping OT burns to the ground were particularly impressive.

So I guess that if your proposal for the 5 forums became a reality, there is every chance that you could find yourself restricted to the ABU Forum...

Overall, I hate the WUMS as much as anyone (except Fred). If they are true WUMS then I just ignore them and don't read the rest of their thread. I certainly wouldn't want rival fans to be unable to post here, because that banter is what makes football special. I also agree it can get out of line, but there are clear penalties for that.

The fact that Gillespie thinks this place is great, we are all contributors - should make us proud of the achievement.

Why do you feel the need though to come and talk about United. What is it that a United forum offers that an Arsenal site doesnt.

Surely you should be discussing your club with fellow supporters not opposing fans..

United fans arent wanted on an Arsenal forum and you lot arent wanted here.

Fact of life..

I don't mind Gillespie being here.

Yes, it is frustrating how his / her business trips always coincide with Arsenal defeats, but it's fun to see him / her try and make a low profile entrance afterwards.

Be honest Fred, when Rio scored his 90th minute header, for example, weren't you glad that there are a number of Liverpool fans on this forums?

Davo said:
One of the problems is, that there's not many Reds on here...and the ones that are here are generally intelligent, savvy sorts. Whereas in comparison you've got a shedload of mancs, half of which are total spastics....so when it kicks off a bit, the mancs always get a hiding.......even more so given recent events

You can't blame us for being far cleverer than you
That's sad because it's basically right

If the likes of Fred and co weren't too busy spamming every one of these threads with their bitter and prejudice hatefilled anger, we might actually get some decent debate

There's a serious issue behind all this, and that is that some United fans need to have a look in the mirror

Actually it can get tedious. "Sorry to see Bob go but it's for the best. Fantastic that TH14 has signed. Wenger is a genius...etc etc"

Exactly - that's why its nice to have differences of opinion.

I agree...

I remember at school, the WUMS and the instigators were almost always the sharpest tools in the box...

Unfortunately we have more "young" passionate and excitable fans being a United forum who seem to go over the edge. Why is it the case that the more mature United fans don't get caught up in their constant WUMMARY?

I can guarantee the age group of the persistent WUMS/instigators to be way past their late twenties to thirties and highly educated.

swooshboy said:

Yes but we have plenty of that without the WUM Arsenal fans and scousers. Like the 'Saha vs RVN' thread etc.

We're not incapable of having differences of opinion, but the opposition fans seem to only have opinions to rile up the United fans.

swooshboy said:

Like someone said below, theirs enough differences of opinion without others dipping their noses in.
I cant understand why other people want to hear other so called opinions. A Utd fan on a Utd board will give his honest opinion, a rival will will give a blinkered opinion.

Depends on the fan Murt.

There are plenty of 'away' fans on here that have a decent input to football debates on here.

Also could someone define this rule for me..

Persistent Wind Up Merchants will be banned if their effect on the forum becomes negative

By wind up merchants do you mean just general people who like to rile opposing fans?

And by persistent do you mean daily? Because thats all they do.

If your trying to have a sensible debate on something and they decide to stick their noses in and spout shite then is that a baning offence? I'm sure I could find some childlike responses they've made.

That's dependant on the topic, though true in some cases.
This place is all the better with the rival fans, it'd be boring as hell without them, and you know it

I think the Mods have a pretty good idea who these WUMS are, with extra new mods in place the WUMMERY will be dealt more quickly and harshly.

If "18-5" isnt a wind up what is? And if Davo et al. having dont use it persistently then what is persistent?

Coming with "18-5" everytime your loosing an arguement is one of the more obvious wind ups on here, hardly gives rise to sensible debate.

No i dont know it, some of em are a laugh in the general but apart from that i dont see the attraction.
We have plenty of varying opinions as it is and theirs not a poster onhere who thinks everything is perfect.

That's my point it's one rule for us and a different one for them.

God Murt, do you honestly get wound up with that? or is another snide dig at the way the forum is run?

Stop your WUMMING Murt - it's getting tired...

Everyone has a different opinion on the matter, so there's never going to be any perfect solution.
A United fans only part of the forum wouldn't be the end of the world, as we wouldn't lose anything really. There are certain times when a rival fans opinion can offer a less blinkered perspective though, like when the muppet brigade round on Ferguson, for example.
I would say we should keep it as it is, but anyone who goes into the United forum with the intention to stir, should be turfed out.
Football forum's fine for that stuff.

I'm also just arguing for the sake of it

The general rule is United supporters get a PM to calm it, then a warning if it continues, then maybe a ghosting or a temporary ban...

With non United fans, it's the door - no questions.

I am a new mod, that's been the training and impression I have been given.:nervous:

One rule for us and a different rule for them - happy?

Not really.

The Pool fans would've been shown the door a long time ago if that's the rules.
