And at the end of the day mate, who has the problem here. You or them?

Deal with it

Everyone has a different opinion on the matter, so there's never going to be any perfect solution.
A United fans only part of the forum wouldn't be the end of the world, as we wouldn't lose anything really. There are certain times when a rival fans opinion can offer a less blinkered perspective though, like when the muppet brigade round on Ferguson, for example.
I would say we should keep it as it is, but anyone who goes into the United forum with the intention to stir, should be turfed out.
Football forum's fine for that stuff.

I'm also just arguing for the sake of it

As usual you make very a reasoned point...I repeat it's the way the debate is going in the Mod room...

God Murt, do you honestly get wound up with that? or is another snide dig at the way the forum is run?
Stop you're WUMMING Murt - it's getting tired...

Its not fuchin wumming, its all sensible debate when yor hearing what you want to hear i suppose.

Im just saying we have enough contrasting opinions in here in the good times and in the bad times. There's a lot to talk about in regards to Fergies position at the club but it cant be discussed as sooner or later some gimp scouser will stick his oar in and call him demento and then it's a scouse row all of a sudden.

Im only giving my opinion and as one of thousands of posters i dont expect it to carry more weight than the percentile my membership accounts for here. My wish would be for this place to either go the full hog and welcome rival fans but drop the Utd bit, or go back to being a Man Utd forum for Man Utd fans. Personally id prefer to post football with tuned in Utd fans. If there was a better place to do it i would do it there but up till now this has been imo the best place for it, still is in fact but mainly as its the best of a bad lot at the moment.

As for the general i dont care who you support in there, ive had rows with Utd fans as much asrivals in there.

It all depends on what definition or criteria you put between difference of opinion and WUMMERY...

Bit of a stupid argument. Of course they don't have a problem with it because they're the ones winding people up. I wouldn't have a problem with it if they added something to threads but most of the time it's retarded comments to rile people up. Which in turn ruins the discussion.

I'm not saying ALL opposing fans are bad. But theres at least a few that, if that rule in the newbie forum is right, should be banned by now. Either there is a need to change the rule or take action.

That's what I mean one rule for us and another for them.

The United forum is only one part of Redcafe, do you even consider what benefits these non United fans bring to this forum?

I honestly dont see it, apart from the fact that they provide a few extra hits.
Is it a forum for Man Utd fan or football fans in general.

There lies the difficulty in Modding a forum, it's all about opinions...

But it's only an issue because you lot rise to it like a bunch of spastics. Every time. That's the only reason it even happens.
Do you actually sit there at your computer and get angry? If so, you're a gimp

I see Davo has managed to rile someone into having a pop at him, without even posting anything. This is the level of resistance we're dealing with here

Don't you marvel at Davo, the contributions of Frenchie, Nate, Tine, Melb, Grinner...too long a list...

I wouldn't bother Sultan. Murt would argue the opposite if we changed our minds.

That's not the point I'm arguing about. If I see a wind up attempt by Davo or njred or sutty then I normally steer clear of the thread because it's just going to be ridiculous childlike arguments e.g the 16 18 thing today in the Football Forum.

The thing I'm arguing about is that it clearly states in the rules that any persistent WUM behaviour which results in a negative effect on the forum, such as provoking people into "murderers" replies, will be banned. Why is it that this doesn't seem to be happening?

You are contradicting yourself Murt...

Provoking?

Come off it

There are many ways to respond to a scouser on the windup without having to go to the depths of calling them a murderer.

Sultan is wanting a sensible debate, then when you get an opinion that doesnt match your own you belittle it. I never asked you to stick your oar in.

So hold on, we're supposed to let Liverpool fans reply to every thread "18-5" without saying anything? That's called a Liverpool forum.

That's brilliant, why not let them take over the place. Do you really think United fans like Big Andy and WelshRed are just going to pass by wind up comments which ruin threads on a United forum?

WeasteDevil said:

Ive never once done it myself, but the m thing is irrelevant.

Is spamming the place with 18-5 not wumming, and is persistant wumming not a banning offence? Or maybe 18-5 is viewed as sensible debate?

As I see it, it's what it has always been. The United Forum and Matchday Forum is for United Fans, the rest is for football fans in general. The general is for anyone. It's always been that way.

Your last sentence proves you haven't a clue what you're on about

Your provoking argument was a crap one in any case, mind

You still haven't explained why persistent wind up attempts aren't punished as per the rules. Yet the responders are.

Don't take the bait - Reply in kind - ignore.

They'll soon tire...

God is that hard?

Fair enough,
The Utd forum and Matchday forum have a total of
637209
posts.

Whereas the rest has
1257415

Meaning that this place is 1/3 Utd, 2/3 football.

Bit hypocritical calling it a Utd forum and using the name Man Utd to attract clients?

I don't ever personally reply to wind up attempts but I don't because I expect the WUM to be dealt with by the mods.

Maybe its time to drop the Utd bit?

That's a bit daft, because the majority of all posts throughout the forum have been made by United fans. Are you saying we should go down the RedIssue path and have a single forum, basically telling United Fans not to talk about anything but United?

You must have seen how the place worked before you joined and before you were promoted? Your stance is similar to somone buying a mars bar and then complaining that they don't like caramel.

Yeah I seen how the place worked before I joined. I'm just giving my opinion on the matter.

Banter is ok, but WUM that ruin threads and "have a negative effect on the forum" should be banned. Simple as. But the mods seem to spend their time moderating the United fans whilst ignoring the other fans.

No.
I would like to be able to talk about Utd with Utd fans, like i said we dont need the great words of wisdom from rival fans because as you well know opinions are contrasting enough as it is.
I would also like to be able to discuss football beyond Utd with Utd fans.

Thats what id expect from a Utd forum, if i wanted to discuss football with a wider spectrum id do it on such a forum.

But like i said above up till now this place has been the best place for it and ill most likely stick with it as its the best of a bad lot at the moment.
I do think it is a bit hypocritical calling this place a Man Utd forum when it is in fact leaning more towards a "football fans" forum.

No. It is a simple statement of fact.

And recognising irony never was your strong point was it?

You are one of the biggest WUMs on here so accusing others of being WUM's is somewhat ironic. Not to mention someone like your self, who is genetically incapable of not sticking his oar in to any thread where he can disagree with anyone, expecting a mod of this site to ask your permission before they post in a particular thread is even more so.

See what I mean Sultan.

Left in a room long enough Murt would fall out with himself for the craic.

I can see where you are coming from Murt and do have a certain ammount of sympathy for your arguement.

However, it has already been said that the situation in the MU forum is being looked at by the Mods and a stricter policing will probably be brought in to deal with the WU's.

Your idea of Redcafe not being a MU forum though is ludicrous - 99.9% of the members are MU fans. I also disagree with you about the 'away' fans not bringing anything useful to the site. We are all football fans on here and the better posters can put that bias you talk about to one side and have decent debates.

Of course they aren’t all murderers, its just a coincidence that somebody manages to die when they play in Europe..

But it winds them up, I think that’s why it is said..

Not all of them post now though, i reckon loads of united fans register then feck off when so called united fans are sticking up for scousers!

I dont blame them, i only tolerate it cause ive been here ages.
