Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Need to use the AM this week really but can't decide between losing Konate and bringing in slot or saving the transfer and going Emery. I really don't trust villa (though it is Ipswich) and back pool to spank wolves but also don't want to unnecessarily burn a transfer.

Which assets are attractive from Villa? I already have Rogers, and the assman spot is occupied by Slot.
Watkins is flagged - will he be rested? I have just enough to do Wood -> Watkins.
I’d just leave Wood in for the season.

He will burn you if you take him - he’s done it to me before

I have a transfer plan that I need to stick to so it will be Outarra in for Enzo for me. Sticking with TAA, Salah, Gakpo and Rogers only for this DGW along with a likely AM on Emery.

Plan is to hold Salah, Isak and Hall through 29 and move out Rogers, TAA and Gakpo along with a AM switch in 27. Rogers can go for Mbeumo in 26 but might as well hold TAA and Gakpo (barring injury) right up until the blank as they have Southampton in 28.

Does leave me with an immediate benching headache this week though...which one of these 3 would you bench...

Wood v Fulham (Away)
Isak v City (Away)
Amad v Spurs (Away)

Thinking Wood at the moment. Especially as I'm starting Robinson. But then we create feck all and the other two have pens. Hmmmm

I’m looking at when to use the Triple Captain chip.

Liverpool have no more double gameweeks after this week (I can’t use it this week as I have AM in play) - but do I use it on Salah vs Southampton game week 28 (problem is this could be bang in the middle of a tie with PSG - could he be rested!)

Or
Take a risk and use it on Isak in Gameweek 33 - they’ll have a double vs Villa & Palace.

There's no way I'm leaving out Wood, but I'm also starting Robinson, even with no clean sheet he's a good bet for an assist in every game these days. I would leave Amad out, City is also suspect at the back. Spurs are bad all around but at least you'll be happy anyway if Amad scores.

I'm on a pretty similar path to you. Playing Palmer, Rogers, Salah, Kluivert in MF this week with Wood, Isak, Gakpo up front, only headache is MGW on the bench who burned me with 16 bench points this week ffs. If I start him he'll do nothing but I don't even know who to bench for him so will probably just leave him out with the risk of being burned again.

Cheers. Yeah I think you have no choice but to bench Gibbs White either. Wood should (?!) cover you for Forest.

Of course Konsa is injured now that he could actually be useful for a GW. Has to be the biggest waste of a player in my entire team this season.

Yeah I have him too, waiting game until tomorrow to see if we can get any news on if he’s going to be available for Ipswich. If he’s not then it’s completely pointless leaving him in.

The fear is Wood, Isak, Palmer, Amad, Outarra, Salah all have huge hat trick hauls in them as we've seen at various times this season. And then I've got Gakpo and Rogers with doubles which could also = a potential haul. Got to play the fixtures I guess.

Isak vs City isn't a bad fixture given the way City have been defending this season.

So as it currently stands the Slot AM vs Salah TC, is + 29 for TC and+ 15 for Slot. Slot needs to get 14 points over the next 3 to break even which is very likely.

Don't think it's that simple is it. It's Slot + alternative TC v Salah TC + alternative AM. Also I'm guessing quite a few on Slot AM might switch from him in 26 to chase the table bonus.

Looking at the fixtures in 26 I'm not sure there are that many good ones there to chase bonus points with AM either. Could easily see plenty of blanks.

Moyes might be the best bet again.

This was a comparison solely for those who made the decision for Slot over Salah TC.

Of course, a second comparison needs to be made later in the season when vice versa chips are played. The reason why i think the AM will likely work out better in the long term is that there most likely won't be another time in the season where you will get 5 fixtures out of the AM chip while you will get a chance to play the TC in a double in the future.

Flipside is there probably won't be many GW's in the season where your captain scores 29 points either. ;)

Yeah that's where the gamble comes in, TC has always been a chip that can go either way.

Yeah same. Might get complicated saving it too long with other chips you want to use like bb and fh especially if you plan on navigating the small blank in 29 without using any (as I currently do).

It does lock you out for 3 weeks when activated which is why I'm thinking get it done now on Emery as I already own the best 3 Liverpool players plus Rogers. I don't have to change my transfer plans which is bringing in a Bournemouth attacker and I don't have the headache of an extra bgw player to bin off.

I think I'd leave it on him for 25 & 26 as all home fixtures with 1 (and possibly 2) chance/s of a table bonus and then switch in 27 and hunt the table bonus on another team. Could be some decent chances looking at the fixtures as well.
Sounds extremely similar to what I’m doing/thinking. Pulling the trigger now

Rogers likely going up tonight and Hall dropping. The Lord giveth and he taketh away.

Not making any transfers until the pressers are done tomorrow in case we get a curveball or two.

Plan is...

GW25 Enzo > Outtara (AM on Emery)
GW26 Rogers > Mbeumo
GW27 AM Switcheroo
GW28 roll
GW29 TAA and Gakpo out for (subject to change) Gvardiol and Cunha.
GW30 Amad > Foden

That's as far as I've got

Front 8 would be Salah, Palmer, Foden, Mbeumo, Outtara, Isak, Wood, Cunha which is pretty tasty.

What we doing fellow Slot & 2 Pool fellows?

Slot to Emery and bring a 3rd Pool player in?
Stay as we are on Salah, TAA and Slot?

Any Rashy love for the double?

Keeping as is for now, don't think it's worth wasting a transfer on Emery, I guess if you have 2 or more spare you can consider taking him out.

After spending all season barely able to store one extra, i've somehow ended up with 4 freebies without big holes in the squad to sort. Could maybe sort a bench guy but the starting 11 looks pretty solid.
But yes, seems daft to move off Slot when he has Wolves home next up. That's surely a 3 or 4-0 job.

Yeah I would definitely keep him for the double, they have a good chance of two wins. Maybe take him out for the city game (not like a city is a difficult game these days either though).

Very little upside to keeping him though. Might as well gamble on a table bonus after 4 weeks of Slot.

Possibly havnt read the rules enough but not sure why you'd take out Slot before a double. My FT was Sarr of Palace who has outstayed his welcome for a very long time to Dango Ouattara of Bournemouth. He won't be the last Bournemouth player I own this next few weeks

That would be my play in your position. I'll probably end up with TC on Isak in GW33 which is likely to be a significant net loss on Salah in 24 or 25.

AM for the last 3 GW's would then be my strategy.

Have you got the Southampton back 3 in to compensate?!

Did Konsa to Kerkez and MGW to Dango, but now I have to bench one of the following:

Palmer Salah Rogers Kluivert Dango
Wood Isak Gakpo

Thinking of benching Palmer as he’s the early game and has struggled, but all my rivals have him and Brighton just conceded 7 to Forest…
