Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Are Bournemouth a run-catch ready to ruin all us AM users/Liverpool triplers next week? Every time a team gets a bit of praise this season, they get done by Bournemouth.

Started City's league freefall, gave Arsenal their first loss of the season, killed some early Amorim enthusiasm, ended Newcastle's 9-game win streak, and battered Forest yesterday. They don't even seem to care that they're missing 9+ players every week.

Yeah Bournemouth are a very well organised side with bags of energy. The epitome of performing better than the sum of their parts.

That said it's still a dgw so you know what to do.

Did Haaland to Gakpo last night before the price rise.

Currently I'm on

Verbruggen
Milenkovic Hall Greaves
Salah Amad Palmer Rogers
Gakpo Isak Wood

Fab Enzo Robinson Kerkez

Have 1 FT left and loads of money in the bank. Do I do

1) 3rd Liverpool player in .... thinking Konate for Hall actually and play TC on Salah
2) Pickford in for Verbruggen and play AM on Slot or even a punt on Moyes?
3) Ouattara in for Enzo. More of a long term transfer before he goes up and Enzo drops again.
4) Something else?

I feel like I have to use a chip this week otherwise they're going to stack up. Don't even think I'll need one in 29 so I'll be holding FH as well.

Yeah I'm thinking of doing the Pedro to Gakpo switch now and catch some value at the same time. Triple captain Salah in the double, I was thinking of using the AM but reading the arguments about how you get bonus points for getting results against teams above the manager makes it seem like a waste to use on Slot.

Yeah, I think I'm just setting it up so I can go "knew it!" when the thing I'm definitely gonna do blows up in my stupid face.

Yeah but the bonus part is the gamble.

I think if you're gonna use it this week your can reach a compromise by either

A) Play on Slot for 24 and 25 which is 3 winnable games, low ceiling granted but then switch it in 26 and try and get the bonus

B) Play on Moyes for the double which is the gamble and then switch to Iraola for 25 and 26 where they have Southampton and Wolves. Hope they pump a load of goals past them both.

I'm gonna go all in on Moyes, really think using a chip on Liverpool isn't a great move.

Raya

Konate
Hall
Milenkovic

Amad
Palmer
Salah
Mbuemo

Wissa
Wood
Isak (C)

(AM Moyes) Subs: Fab, Rogers, Kerkez, Robinson

This is what I'm currently going with.

The fact I'm playing catch up is definitely influencing my decision to take the risk

Not bringing in a 3rd doubler then?

Thought I had it all figured out but the form of Bournemouth has really worried me about using the manager chip and Everton also with a boost from bringing Moyes back could even snatch something. It just feels a bit riskier than it did before ffs.

Problem is if I don’t play it this weekend then it’s going to be very tough to play every chip in a shorter period. Think I just stick to the original plans.

*Eze holders rejoicing in that goal*...."no I said Esse correct, not Eze" .... *Eze holders die inside*

Dude has such loyal players that hold him you know that happened

Judging by West Ham's lineup, Watkins will run around getting the life kicked out of him for an hour so that Duran can bring misery to his bidders again. Should've took the hit for Gakpo. Ah well.

I really can't imagine holding Eze. He's fun to watch now, but the potshots into traffic or down the keepers throat every five minutes would drive me up the wall if I had him. Semenyo can be like that too at times.

Mbuemo would have been given infinite chances to score that pen, until he scored because my rival had him.

At least that meant his Munoz points were wiped right? Nope, the cnut gets an assist.

Whilst my Sarr has done feck all since I bought him.

I'm deleting my team. I've had enough.

Mbuemo has that Wood vibe about him, will blank and people sell then will score every game after. I think after the spurs game Gordon to mbeumo might be the move to make. Not like spurs are any good but would want to keep Gordon for Fulham home.

I'd have done Bruno->Mbuemo already but for the DGW. So probably doing that after Spurs too, although it feels like missing out with how bad they are.

Have no clue what to do next week. I still haven't been able to get rid of the Aina/Sels double Forest defense. Have had something or the other to change every week.

Amad 95th min goal VARd off.
Fook sake, I was half way posting a revelling in it post :wenger:

Me too.

Lovely goal as well and there wasn't much in it.
Oh well, won in real life, and up to the heady heights of.. 12th!
Essential win too, as the points have squeezed up, so it'll need a few wins in a row to make headway now.

Really happy with that goal, benched Robinson so glad his cleany got wiped out and United win.

Important week ahead. Tc salah or am chip is the big question. Need to gapko in as well
Was reading something earlier (I'll edit the link into this if/when I find it again) that took a 4-week rolling average of Slot's potential AM points, and a 2-week rolling average of Salah's potential TC points.

The long and short of it was that over the course of the season so far, Slot's 4w rolling average was between ~20 and 39 points, while Salah's 2w TC rolling average was only lower than 20 twice, plus he's exceeded 39 points a fair few times, hitting 72 at least once.

So based on the season so far you stand to get between 20 and 39 points with Slot now, but with Salah TC on GW24 you're unlikely to go below 20 while also being in with a good chance of earning significantly more than 39 points.

Edit: here's the link. Turns out 72 wasn't TC Salah's upper limit - it's 117 and he's hit it twice. Playing it on Haaland early feels a little bit weak now.

Triple captain Salah or play the assistant manager chip?
I've already used my 3x chip, so assistant manager for me.
I think many will putt the 3x on Salah tihs week though.

My team this week will probably be:

Areola/Fabianski
Hall, Munoz, SvdBerg (Faes, Kerkez)
Salah(C), Palmer, Rogers, Amad (Bergvall)
Haaland, Gakpo, Isak

Slot (!)

Not entirely sure if I go with Moyse or Slot, but one of them it is.

Gakpo feels a bit of a trap (as does Salah tc and slot am). Everton will be ultra defensive and Bournemouth are the form team in the league.

Really tempted to play Moyes AM. In form and at home against Leicester and then home game against Pool that is a complete lottery. Plus gW25 they could get a win over Palace too. I am leading my ML by 96 points so do not need to take a risk. Should I go Moyes or Slot?

Oh feck off Enzo. Lost another £0.1m from this absolute wasteman. Out for Outarra in 25.

Still don't know what to do with my second transfer and what chip to play. Getting cold feet on both in all honesty. Gonna wait until the end of the week as there might be some injuries that force my hand.

Hall to Konate and Verbruggen to Pickford are my favourite transfer options at the moment.

It's funny how one can cherry pick stats to make the point you want. Especially when it's not even accurate.

Important to point out that you only gain 1X Salah's point by triple cataining him compared to the rest of the field, not 3X. Every other player captaining him will get 2X his points.

Salah's not on the form he was on 5 weeks ago though, and Liverpool face Bournemouth (by far the strongest home defense in the league this season - only conceded 7 so far this season) and Everton who's also likely to park the bus against them. Salah has 2 returns in his last 4 games.
Salah's peak rolling 2 week total this season is 31 points (not 39 - that's only if you pick his two best single GW in this season and not rolling ones). That's with 5 returns in 2 weeks. His last 3 rolling two GW totals are: 9 (MUN, NFO), 5 (NFO, BRE) and 11 (BRE, IPS).
(For comparance, here's Slot's points for the same rolling GWs: 9 (MUN, NFO), 14 (NFO, BRE), 20 (BRE, IPS))
Is it likely that Salah will return 5 times against Bournemouth and Everton away from home? I think you should be over the moon with 2 returns from him in this double and in that case you would look at something like a 12-20 points edge on the field with the TC.
Playing the assistant manager chip on Slot this GW will probably give you something similar this GW plus what ever the next 2 GW will give you.

It makes a lot of sence to play one of those chips this GW, but hard to really tell which one is the stronger of the two.
