Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Gibbs-White at red-hot Bournemouth or Iwobi at home vs not-so-hot United?

Went away on holiday for 6 weeks, ignored my team, and now realise I have to transfer in a manager? Wtf
Yeah after 6 weeks of ignoring your Team during busy festive periode it must be a real shock to realise you have to transfer in a manager.

Really feeling with you here.

Watch out for Konate. Slot said he’s playing with pain (knee). But the games have some space in between so the chance might be worth taking.

Gone for Van Dick myself

Well I'd already done it by then

Guess I can have a last minute change of heart before the double but it will cost me -4. Maybe I'd at least bag another prise rise after last nights.

I must admit I sort of read Slot's words differently, thought he was saying he was ready for 3 games a week although it was late and I was just scanning the article.

Salah vs Isak for the captaincy. Is it worth the risk going for Isak? I’m around 40 points behind in my ML but I suspect most will have Salah as captain this weekend so if Isak fails to deliver or Salah does a madness I could really be in the shit!

Yeaaah, might not be the GW to try and gamble against Salah.

Worst week ever for deciding who to bench. Going with this, final decision.

Fabianski
Gabriel Konate Hall
Salah (C) Palmer Mbeumo Gordon Rogers
Isak Wissa

Sanchez Timber Jackson Greaves

Good luck all!

I’d say it’s to make it more clear what is your bench and what is not. But more importantly to make design-room for the manager who comes next week.

This may suggest the AM chip wasn’t fully invented when the season began. Or just that they realized later that the design didn’t fit an AM. Then the logic step would be to introduce the new design closer to when the AM chip comes into play. (Now)

No idea what the 2nd paragraph means, but I disagree that it makes the bench clearer.

Expecting most will go Salah so he’s the safer option in a week like this. Isak could grab a couple but do we expect Salah to do absolutely nothing against Ipswich at home? Not saying it can’t happen and that we won’t all be moaning in a few hours time  but it still seems crazy to not go Salah at home to Ipswich if we are being honest.

He's talking about the assistant manager chip (AM). Looks like the new design is to incorporate a section for that.

He's suggesting that they either didn't think how it would all display ahead of time and have just re-jigged it now, or that they didn't even know that they were going to go with an assistant manager chip when this season launched. It was billed as a mystery chip, perhaps they were toying with different ideas as to what that would be before deciding later on? Think the announcement was in December.

I went Salah but then I'm not in any sort of league I care about, just trying to score points.

Gambling a few weeks back was the start of a terrible run of form for me. Who did you go with in the end?

If you play the assistant chip it just says pending, and you can cancel it again. No list of managers yet.

Don't be messing with it if you're not intending to use it next week just in case it's changed!

Jackson falling again tonight, the waste of space. 8.3 down to 7.8 since New Years Eve is some drop.

Half in mind to go Jackson > DCL to cover the Everton side of the double GW over Mykolenko if I want any coverage for them at all. At least it should be 4 points barring bookings whereas there's always an outside chance Liverpool stick 4 or 5 past Everton and Mykolenko could easily get booked too. DCL might just a get a pen in one of the games too, but knowing him he'd miss it.

Will see what today brings, currently got Sanchez and Jackson stinking my squad up and I've resorted to benching both, got a niggling feeling one or both of them could be dropped which might make me take action. If he starts and scores against City fixtures are actually good.

Played it safe and went with Salah in the end. There’s probably better game weeks down the line to go with a differential. Hopefully doesn’t bite me in the arse now!

Haha. Did you do this experiment yourself or have you read it somewhere?

I'm definitely swaying more towards using it over TC next week. My team looks good apart from Haaland and the goal keeper so with 2 FT's I'm thinking Haaland to Gakpo and Verbruggen to Pickford with TC on slot for 24 and 25. Switch it up in 26.

Gonna watch this game first though and see how they look against Ipswich. Mo might get his form back.

Did it myself mate, fully commited to using it on Slot then we'll see for 26.

Think the positives outweigh the negatives for my squad setup. It gives me triple coverage on the Liverpool double without having to actually own 3 Liverpool players. That's important seeing as there's a good chance they beat Spurs in the Carabao and blank in 29 as I don't have any FTs banked. One less Liverpool player to move out by then, although it would be great if Spurs go through.

On the other side of the draw I'm on triple Newcastle so need transfers for that too expecting Newcastle to make the final. If Arsenal somehow claw their way back I'm in trouble haha. Triple Chelsea and double Arsenal for now, Arsenal v Chelsea scheduled for 29.

Already played my TC very early doors on one of those Haaland hat-tricks so that's not a thing for me. If I hadn't I'd have more to consider like you.

It also sets me up for WC in 30 without having to worry about the assistant chip. Just head down rushing for the finishing line at that point!

Anyway looks like this:

Isak goal, Konate assist. Decent start apart from Hall conceding. Hopefully he can bag an assist to make up for that.

Bournemouth flying, really don't think Liverpool are that good of a choice for any of the chips next week.

Should have made the Pedro to Gakpo switch
