Any point bringing any Everton players in for the double?

Any point bringing any Everton players in for the double?

I mean their attacking options are pretty dire and it's 2 transfers wasted imo as you'll want them back out straight away.

I'm considering Pickford but only because I've been stuck with Verbruggen so long and he's absolutely useless. I know a few people who've got Mykolenko as well who seems ok as he's cheap enough to bench most weeks as a 4th or 5th defender anyway.

In short, midfield and striker slots are too precious to waste but might be worth a punt on Pickford or a cheap defender.

It's funny how one can cherry pick stats to make the point you want. Especially when it's not even accurate.

Important to point out that you only gain 1X Salah's point by triple cataining him compared to the rest of the field, not 3X. Every other player captaining him will get 2X his points.

Salah's not on the form he was on 5 weeks ago though, and Liverpool face Bournemouth (by far the strongest home defense in the league this season - only conceded 7 so far this season) and Everton who's also likely to park the bus against them. Salah has 2 returns in his last 4 games.
Salah's peak rolling 2 week total this season is 31 points (not 39 - that's only if you pick his two best single GW in this season and not rolling ones). That's with 5 returns in 2 weeks. His last 3 rolling two GW totals are: 9 (MUN, NFO), 5 (NFO, BRE) and 11 (BRE, IPS).
(For comparance, here's Slot's points for the same rolling GWs: 9 (MUN, NFO), 14 (NFO, BRE), 20 (BRE, IPS))
Is it likely that Salah will return 5 times against Bournemouth and Everton away from home? I think you should be over the moon with 2 returns from him in this double and in that case you would look at something like a 12-20 points edge on the field with the TC.
Playing the assistant manager chip on Slot this GW will probably give you something similar this GW plus what ever the next 2 GW will give you.

It makes a lot of sence to play one of those chips this GW, but hard to really tell which one is the stronger of the two.
Although I'm planning on playing TC on Salah (as I feel AM is better in GW36), there is a temptation to just play it when Liverpool face Southampton at home in GW28. He will feast on that defence for sure.

Yeah or Wolves in 25 even. Would be classic fpl for him to have a disappointing double and then go off the week after.

Yeah that makes sense, can't do Pickford as it means taking out Raya who is my only Arsenal defensive cover and would be a waste of resources to swap him for Fabianski and have both Raya and Pickford in the squad.

Definitely not imo. Poor attacking options and they face Liverpool in one of their games so unlikely to keep a CS.

Not worth it at this stage when rolling a FT could make a big difference down the road.

I've brought in Gana, but I'm WC after this gameweek anyway so made sense for me to try and hit the double.

I mean we are all being a bit silly over Everton aren’t we? A win over a terrible Spurs team and a hit and miss Brighton.

16th place Everton against 1st place Liverpool. I’m hearing about last game in their stadium etc but won’t Liverpool fans and players feel the exact same way about wanting to beat them? Feel like we are overthinking it a bit with the idea of Moyes for AM.

Let alone the sentiment, we have a true title race if we drop points in our game in hand, so either way it's a game of vital importance to us that we very much will want to win. Not saying we will, obviously, but both teams will be well up for it, not just Everton.

5 of the last 7 meetings at Goodison have been 0-0, with Liverpool being a lot bettwr for all of these meetings too. Everton have the new manager/getting rid of Dyche bounce and will likely be going into it on the back of 3 league wins in a row so the atmosphere will be electric.

Have they been better? Liverpool are currently 6 points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand and have scored the most goals this season and conceded the least goals this season? I’m not saying Everton won’t be up for it or can’t get a result here but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Liverpool put a few past them and win comfortable tbh.

And I mean honestly, this is one of the worst Everton teams I can remember in a while.

Do I get rid of DCL for Ndiaye or Hall to Mykolenko?

Whichever loser I bring in, they're playing in the double and then staying last on my bench until GW29.

After a great start captaining Isak not much else went my way.

Ended up on 56 which is just below the average for the week but at least I didn't have Martinez with 15 on my bench like some in my work league.

I did... every single player on my bench apart from the 4.0 keeper hauled. 26 points.

Ahh thanks for letting me know! Might just screw the pair of them and get Mbuemo. Man's been killing my rank.
Mbuemo already in and I very rarely go early on transfers! He's a priority this week, probably only third to Gakpo / TAA (assuming Salah is already in!) if you can get to them.

Will make a late call on Everton. I can get to Mykolenko for Harwood-Bellis and Ndiaye for Raul so they seem like low risk punts given neither are likely to be required until GW29 and I ideally wouldn't want to use either of Harwood-Bellis or Raul moving forward either.

The only issue is it burns 2FT's. Tottenham have a potential double in 25 although I can't see them getting past Liverpool in the LC so unlikely so the only other major concern thereafter (injuries & suspensions apart) is blank GW29, which I'm pretty well covered for if I make these three switches.

A lot of people writing Everton assets off but there's lots of value in defensive assets at present as well as the midfield which brings 4-4-2 onto the table with 3-5-2 remaining (largely) the optimal route, allowing you to easily leave their assets out of your XI moving forward. Obviously this is skewed slightly this week for the double.

Unless you're prepared to spend a significant amount of budget on the likes of Mateta or Gakpo, a cheap / bench option as your 3rd forward seems like a reasonable move in the mid-term.

But I only have one transfer so it's one of:

Gordon to Mbuemo, Hall to Mykolenko or DCL to Ndiaye.

So with my squad you'd have TAA in as a priority...

Verbruggen Fab
Hall Robinson Kerkez Milenkovic Greaves
Salah Palmer Amad Rogers Enzo
Gakpo Isak Wood

Loads in the bank so I can anything. All my chips as well.

Hall out for TAA/Konate ?
Verbruggen out for Pickford ?
Enzo out for Mbeumo (which might then give me a benching headache) ?

I would yes, but not necessarily for Hall. I think you need to look at the fixtures coming up and see how they rotate. Kerkez is nailed and should be going nowhere IMO but you could make a case for TAA in for Milenkovic, Hall or Robinson (probably in that order for me).

Those three picks look dreamy in fairness but as you say, would cause some major benching dilemmas! You must be doing well on team value if you've plenty of spare funds after assembling that squad!

Yeah weirdly for someone who only just binned Haaland I've done well with team value. Actually Lewis Haul is probably one of the main reasons for that.

It's tricky deciding what defender to move out for Trent.

Like you say I think Kerkez can stay. 90 mins nailed player, lovely fixture run after Liverpool and 2 double digit hauls this season so far.

Robinson has had no double digit hauls but I think he's been unlucky so far as he's got a whopping 9 assists this season but none have come in any of Fulham's 4 clean sheets. That says to me it will come and tbh he's another 90 minute man who you can rely on.

Hall and Milenkovic I can sell for the same price (£4.7m). Hall has 2 double digit hauls and Milenkovic has none so far (another one who's scored or assisted when Forest have lost the clean sheet). Both have shit immediate fixtures so will likely end up benched for the foreseeable. There's a strong chance Newcastle will blank in 29 whereas Forest definitely won't and they have Ipswich. So planning ahead you'd favour keeping the latter. Trouble is Hall is now £5.1m and even though he might well drop a bit it'll be tougher to get him back if/when I want to.

On the balance of things Trent in for Milenkovic is probably the move and bench Hall this week. Assuming Liverpool and Newcastle make it to the EFL cup final I have to probably plan on benching Salah, Isak and Hall if I want to navigate that week without a chip. That would mean Trent, Gakpo and Rogers all back out by GW29.

Oh i had a look at some of the prediction models as well earlier and all are saying that TC on Salah has more points potential than AM on Slot. Obviously that's only for the double though and doesn't take into account the weeks following if you move it but thinking out loud with that post above I don't think I have the luxury of transfers to mess about with it. So yeah probably keep it simple and TC on Salah this week. He only needs 1 return to outscore those who used it on Haaland v Southampton earlier in the season.

Bar Trent & Salah, who are people bringing in? Diaz? Gapko? Ndiaya a doubt apparently. Need a Raul replacement & Foden

Be interesting to see what Dorgu comes in as. Obviously no point getting him in straight away, although I may be tempted to grab and hold him on Fantasy Draft if you have a defender slot to burn.

If he comes in as 4.5, I think he'll be >10-15% owned after a month.

Yeah Trent, Salah and Gakpo seem to be the popular 3 if you want the Liverpool triple up. It's probably what I'll end up on. I think Szoboszlai is a decent differential pick to Gakpo though.

Personally I'm not interested in Everton players other then gk or a bench rot defender where I wouldn't need to shift them out straight away again.

I'm basically choosing between Gakpo (TC Salah) and Sloth

Gakpo playing for the reserves tonight makes it advantage Slot
