Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Do we think Chelsea will rotate v Ipswich or is not a problem? When they did that against Southampton a few weeks ago it caught a lot of us out. Similar profile of fixture with similar timing between games.

Don't know if losing to Fulham might influence that if it was ever on the cards to begin with. Want to freshen up? Want to make sure they're at full strength in case they lose again? Ipswich are that bit better than Southampton were at the time I suppose.

With Fabianski looking like he's out as my backup goalie, Bruno suspended, Greaves out of favour as my fodder I don't really need Sanchez and Jackson being rotated again.

Might affect transfer planning.

Edit:

Have just enough for Semenyo > Mbeumo but that's not happening until after Brentford play Arsenal. I do want Mbeumo back at some point. Anything else I do would have to be downgrades or sideways in price. Sanchez > Sels or Henderson, or Bruno > someone who will start just to try to boost the numbers in case Maresca does tinker?

Bruno out already feels like such a waste though, and I'd feel daft if I take Sanchez out in a panic only for him to start anyway. Bit frustrated by Sanchez in general, and Hendo/Sels have a few good upcoming games mixed in with harder ones.

Sanchez > Hendo
Semenyo > Mbeumo
Greaves > Andersen (if deemed necessary)

over the next 3 weeks leaves 0.0 ITB

Think I'd be happy with that squad at that point moving forward without too much need to change until Saka is fit again:

Hendo Fab
Gabriel Timber Hall Lewis Andersen
Salah Palmer Bruno Mbeumo Rogers
Isak Jackson Solanke
They won’t rotate after they lost yesterday. If they had beat Fulham then maybe he would have rested players but not now.

52 with 2 to go.
Feels like a really average week but Isak, Salah, Palmer and Hall have kept it even that good.
Really need a Gabriel and Jesus haul today.

Diaz not playing was an arse but at least he'll definitely play the next one now.

About the same boat as me, only it's Odegaard rather than Jesus I'm waiting for along with Gabriel, with Cunha helping keep me up instead of Hall. Need to grab him at some point. Good luck!

Whom should I get for Bruno? Already gave Palmer, Salah, Son and Rogers. Currently thinking Gordon or Foden
Gordon is a great shout. Plays two sides sorely out of form next, then Wolves at home. Good form himself too. Personally wouldn't touch Foden with a barge pole.

If any of us knew we'd be happy people. Pin these name on a dartboard, close your eyes and throw.

Luis Diaz - minutes risk
Maddison and Johnson - see above
Mbeumo - possible fixtures but I'm still a fan, just not until after they play arsenal
Martinelli - flakey
Sarr - the cheap punt with big underlying numbers lately
Foden - who knows?
Bowen & Gordon - maybe not as spectacular as some, more reliable types, Kulu kind of the same but perhaps even less spectacular

Cheers for that, allayed my fears somewhat.

Still might actually go for that as a transfer plan. Don't know what else I'd do or why I'm so bullish about Mbeumo from 20 onwards, but I am. Definitely an upgrade on Semenyo but maybe I could do better.

Sanchez > Hendo seems sideways if not slightly worse, but it puts some money in the bank. A 0.3 buffer just in case Mbeumo went up before I got him, which I'd doubt but you never know, he might pop off v Brighton.

Can then either spend that or sit on it.

Will see if I can figure out another plan before then. Don't like selling Bruno 1 week after buying him. He's fecked me over, but was supposed be a hold for a good few weeks at least. Thought Son looked better for 3 games until Bruno's games were better after Liverpool. Nothing has really changed there.

It depends if you can handle the definite 0 v Newcastle and then very likely 1/2 v Liverpool on the promise of a haul v Southampton.

What are people gonna do with Cunha? They have pretty much the 8 worst possible opponents in the next 8 matches.

I just learned Gordon has returned 5 times in 6 matches. Well, I totally took my eye off that.

Hopefully this isn't the end of his run of good form. I, too, am looking to replace that fecking idiot Bruno.

Gordon passes the eye test for sure. I’m giving Sonny boy a chance vs Wolves or I might bring in Gordon vs Spurs. Murphy look great too but more risky.

Holding til he's banned. Spurs are leaky and in terrible form so Wolves could score a couple and there's a very good chance Cunha will be involved. I reckon he'll be banned by the Forest game, but if not I don't think I'll sell then either. He's the top scoring forward in the game right now and Wolves are having a new manager bounce (whatever that is). He'll surely be banned by Newcastle - that'll be a full month on from the incident - and then I won't have to make a proper decision which suits me.

Sold him already.

Did you see Spurs defence vs any of us in the Carabao, Chelsea or Liverpool in the league?

Forest is a home game, don't see them as too bad most of the time regardless of opponents. Forest have let in 12 away, West Ham 13. A very small difference and nobody is worried about West Ham at all so why Forest?

Not saying definitely keep the next 2, more that it's not necessarily urgent to sell. Not yet. If you see someone you really want then fine.

Can't decide between Gordon vs. Foden.
Gordon easily. He's in much better form and playing in a team that's in better form. No real risk of rotation either. And he has more than double the points of Foden, who has only 1 goal all season. And he's about 2m cheaper.

He must be banned soon… once the PL have finished their Christmas snooze.

But not yet… despite fake news.

The same guy spreading that caught me out for a few minutes the other week, that time he'd changed his account to look like a Wolves podcast and was saying Cunha was about to be dropped for when they played Ipswich. He'd blanked 3 times in a row at point, and it was right at the time when there was serious discontent in the Wolves camp. Players arguing with fans, O'neil reportedly considering shaking things up. Was saying Hwang would start instead.

Was watching one of those pre-deadline streams from a content creator and one of his viewers mentioned it, so he read it out but to be fair he also checked and said he thought it was a wind up. Still, I looked and it appeared legit to me. Was lucky I had no time to react, was less than 5 minutes before deadline. I still posted it on this thread.

Realising now that a lot of my ML rivals have a Brighton player or two, so hoping they don't kill me tonight. Would it be too much to ask for a Brentford clean sheet away from home?

Yes, yes it would.

Yeah, I was seeing Bruno as a pick for a good 8 weeks or so and that included Liverpool.

In simple terms it's now Semenyo's points vs Fulham away who I would have benched + Bruno for the games I would have had him for anyway versus someone else's points for 7 or 8 weeks.

It's not quite as simple as that. It's what I could do with the extra money if I sold Bruno for someone cheaper. I could always go back to Bruno post Liverpool too, bringing in someone short term although I'm not a fan of that, using all those transfers shuffling him in and out. It's what I could do with the FT by not selling him as well.

Still, that first framing, the thing with Semenyo is the easiest way to wrap my head around it. Did see Bruno as a longer term choice, and I'm intending on selling Semenyo soon.

Obviously I don't want to jinx the title race totally being over tonight with an Ipswich shutout...but surely a defender from the likes of Ipswich is just getting you a 1 pointer most weeks? And the occasional cleany will be when you don't play him.
Not much more advantage than just having a non playing guy?

Hasnt he been available for some weeks? 0 minutes this gw
I think he's only really starting because McKenna's gone to a back 5 after they shipped 4 at home last GW. Don't think he'll keep his place unless he/they have a really good game, which looks unlikely.

Edit: very unlikely

Of course Jesus that absolute weapon does nothing the minute I bring him in. fecking fake saviour.
In fairness he does have about 2 goals in a year in the league.

I should have realised when you and me have the same player bad ting happen.

Obvs Saliba who I took out gets the 1 bonus over Gabbers who I brought in.
Negligible really, but always going to happen.

Jesus a decent punt, but a goal monster he ain't.
I left 1.7m spare for his inevitable replacement soon.

Not been paying attention to Arsenal recent lineups - saw Lewis-Skelley left back and couldn't would work out why he has less points than others in their backline.

Decent night tonight, a small recovery. Timber + Gabriel doing what they're good at. 60 points for the GW. Joao Pedro, Mbeumo, Wissa and Jesus blanks no doubt some help.

Still dropped in rank, 8 points from safety. Was 11 after yesterday.

Double/Triple Arsenal defense is going to push the average for the week to 50-52. Needed that Gabriel goal to push further ahead of the average.
