Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Ait-Nouri in for Konsa. Gotta say the latter has been a massive disappointment.

Probable team for the weekend:

Flekken (Fabi)
Ait-Nouri, Dalot, Lewis (SvdB, Faes)
Palmer, Saka, Foden, Mbeumo (Rogers)
Haaland(C), Jimenez, Larsen

1,2M ITB

Thoughts?

Martínez/De Ligt/Yoro could be decent options soon too

I would personally still stay away from United players but Yoro or Martinez aren’t bad shouts. Yoro is down at 4.3 and Martinez is down at 4.4. All comes down to who starts under the new manager, I think it’s worth the risk on Yoro possibly next week as he’s basically in line almost with the absolute cheapest defenders in the game. We haven’t looked great defensively but at that price it may be worth jumping on very soon if you’re willing to take a slight risk.

Those of us who moved Saka to Foden, are we sticking with that, reversing it, or moving him to someone else?

Will probably roll for the first time this season. There's a bit of tinkering I could do but I'm bit lost as to where to start. Hold until something obvious comes along might be the way to go.

Sanchez - meh, but a ton of goalies are too. Seen people with more experience than me say that transferring 'keepers out is often a waste of time outside of WC.

TAA transfer out soon is tempting due to lack of attacking returns and to free up cash. Next 3 fixtures look like ok shots at clean sheets though.

Gabriel's injury news doesn't seem so bad so he's a hold. Potentially wouldn't have started him this week even if fit. (TAA, Lewis, Konate). Price drop likely but it doesn't affect me.

Johnson - fell into the trap like lots of others but I don't see any must have immediate upgrades even with 2.1m ITB. A number of possible switches with none jumping off the page. Return to Eze or ESR, could bring in Bowen. If waiting a week or 2 Semenyo and Mitoma have nice fixture runs soon. Hold until then and take my pick of those 5 plus anyone else who emerges?

Wood - suspect his yellow flag will be ok. He has City and Arsenal both away in GW 12 & 14 which could be a reason to take him out by then but no rush. Even then he has Ipswich at home sandwiched in between them and mixed run thereafter. He's producing so there's no urgency at all to get rid. I suppose Wissa's in good nick if I wanted to switch and he has a good next 4.

Haaland - the big one. A future shift away from him definitely in my mind but it's going to take at least 3 FTs to spend all the money without hits and shuffle the squad. Need to wait and build them up. Gives time to assess Son and Foden, Saka with a couple of semi tough aways incoming anyway, maybe even Bruno is doing bits under new management by then and KDB fit. Not worth doing anything drastic there for hits right now and bringing in extra premium middies.

I'll wait and see how we line up under Amorim and which players are nailed on in the defense, but we might become a defensively solid team with Yoro being our only real wide defender in a back 3 basically, which could make him nailed on IMO.

4 flagged players in the starting XI ahead of this weekend, 1 red flag on the bench, and with only 1 free transfer to play. This should be fun.

Tempted to get Bruno for the next 4 and then back to Saka in GW14.
Bruno and Rashy might suddenly become worthwhile. But probably worth letting the new manager actually start first!
That was fun last night but Leicester are pretty poor anyway let alone making that many changes.

I think the best United asset to own soo should be Dalot, expecting big returns from this lad under Amorim. But Bruno should be back to points, too. I will wait another week or two though.

Has there been any updates around Gabriel and Wood?

Do people reckon Mazraoui has lost his place in the team?
Personally don't think so, if anything his cameo yesterday showed that he should start over either Licha or Dalot(preferably Dalot imo).

Play Ndiaye vs. Southampton (a) or Semenyo vs a depleted Man City (h)?

How depleted are we talking here?

I'm playing Ndiaye although was in 2 minds to swap him out for Strand Larsen but that can wait another week I think.

Bigger question is captain Salah or Haaland? On Salah at the moment.

Ndiaye has a good fixture but his data is shite. Semenyo been trolling but he's been unlucky. Could have easily returned against Liverpool and Arsenal.

City seem shaky at the back without Rodri protecting them. Gvardiol could potentially have a slight knock, Dias too I read somewhere. Walker is also out.

If I had Salah I would captain him but I don't. Knowing my luck this year, you should captain Salah.

I will definitely be playing Semenyo against this City. I know they are the best team in the country on paper, but their defense is leaky. It's about time for Semenyo to stop missing in front of goal.

Yeah I don't know about data but watching him he's always very wide. Prefer my strikers to be nearer the goal. Great player though.

Yeah no doubt a good player and a minutes man so always good on the bench at the very least. Might go for Semenyo here as he's the bigger balls play and everyone knows I have the biggest balls in town.

I need to revamp my strikeforce and get rid of certain players:

Solanke
DCL
Raya
Semenyo

^ They all feel like deadweight. I have 3 FTs, might get Welbeck and/or Wood. Thoughts? I actually want to get to a position to afford Bruno as post Chelsea his fixtures are great.

Looking at the fixtures, Cunha and Wissa look good bets. Personally I've got Delap and Wood already and may downgrade Watkins to Cunha or Wissa to free up the funds for Bruno next week.

With 1.2 itb you could maybe look at upgrading one of the defenders, not sure who though it just looks a little light to me. Really like the midfield, forward line looks good to me as well.

You could hold Solanke for next 2 as he has Villa and Ipswich at home then maybe switch to someone like Jackson (who's next 2 are United and Arsenal), Jackson's fixtures after the next 2 get a lot better.

Wood after this weekend has Newcastle home, Arsenal away, Ipswich home, City away, United away, Villa home, Brentford away and Spurs home so a pretty hard run of fixtures.

Looks good!

The midfield is sexy as anything and you've managed to do it while still having Haaland.

Defence is cheap but a lot of upsides there. City's defence not been great by their own standards and fixtures arent't amazing for them. At the end of the day Lewis is a nicely priced option to buy into them. He's looking more and more nailed and Guardiola said this week that he's the only player he can't rotate as they're picking up injuries. Hopefully that statement wasn't Arteta-style deception.

City arguably been unlucky with their clean sheets on a very basic level. Would have to look at it at a more granular level to confirm anything, but they've conceded the second least xG in the league as per FBref, but only kept 2 cleanies. So of the 6 clubs who have kept more cleanies, 5 have worse xG against. Doesn't quite work like that as it depends on how the xG is distributed, conceding 1 xG for 2 games in a row is very different to conceding 1.5 followed by a 0.5. The second one much more likely to to result in a clean sheet. Might actually do some nerdy number crunching about that exact topic if I ever have the time or feel inspired enough to do it.

Ait-Nouri a really popular pick right now, has the fixtures even if they've been as leaky as a sieve against stronger opponents so far. He's very much producing as an attacking threat.

Dalot not the best game this week but a very nice mini run of 3 games after that.

Budget strikers doing well so far and the 2 you have there are part of that. Guess you could switch them around a bit - Wood, Welbeck or Cunha. Wissa more difficult as you have the 3 Brentford players already. Your 2 are fine though, pot luck who comes out of top from those guys in the next few weeks I'd say.

Jimenez - going well, nice fixtures
Larsen - Not returned as much as cunha but 1m cheaper and it is only 1 goal difference
Cuhna - see above
Wood - yellow flagged, in great scoring form. Is overperforming xG but while the sun shines make hay. City and Arsenal in a few weeks though.
Welbeck - insane form, not the best couple of fixtures incoming
Wissa - You're struggling to get. Returned from injury in good shape, nice games for him right now

That was an essay, wasn't it?

I am on Salah as well. I just have a feeling Salah would do goo this week over Haaland. Having said, surely Haaland will come back to bite us in the ass after hauling a hattrick. I also want to go rogue and captain palmer against our shaky defence

Gvaediol, McNeil and Wood all on yellow warning for injuries for me, FFS. What are the likelihoods of them playing?
I have them all also. McNeil isnt training at all so unlikely. Wood said he would be fine after the Leicester game and no further news after that. Gvardiol wrote on Insta he is focused on Saturday. I expect Gvardiol and Wood to play.

I have McNeil and thinking about tinkering and transferring him out. Although he is on my bench and does not play but the fixtures for Everton look good in the coming week - after Sou this week, they have WHU A, BRE H, MUN A, WOL H.

Options to get would be
- Rutter (bad 2 weeks but then it is all grey and greem until GW18)
- Iwobi
- Bounanotte

Really tempted by Rutter

Is Gabriel definitely out for this weekend?
This suggests he was actually in contention for Preston but was rested off the back of the injury, so should play. I don't know the source well, but I've chosen to believe it in the spirit of positive thinking.

Half dealt with the swathe of flags by taking a -4 to get rid of Son and Gvardiol to bring in Salah and Young.

The latter is very much an outside pick, but Everton have good fixtures and he's gotten 6 points in every match for over a month, which is more than I can say for the rest of my defenders. Patterson or Coleman could be in at any moment for the him, but he's surely playing too well to be dropped? That's the hope anyway.

Muric
Ait-Nouri, Young, Gabriel(I)
Salah(c), Semenyo, Palmer, Mbuemo
Jimenez, Haaland, Wood(I)

Expecting Rogers and Van den Berg to come in for the two injured players, but starting with that in the hope they're available.

Palmer has been carrying my FPL team for weeks now. But hes playing us at the weekend so out he goes
