Fantasy Premier League 20/21

Ended on 64 despite a shocking start. Doesn't help as my rival has the exact same team as me but instead of my Robertson and Rodriguez, he had Soucek and KWP :(

Once bonus points come in I should be on 60 points which happy enough about. Two weeks to tinker with the team again but not going to chance any transfer until closer to the deadline

Why are people insisting on putting City attackers in when it's clear as day they aren't delivering. I'm staying far away until I see consistent returns for them. It's not like they are at the price point where it's okay to take a punt either, some of the most expensive players in the game.

Yeah I was waiting to see how things were going before bringing in KDB if things went well and have decided to never trust the rest due to getting pep'ed a lot last year.

They've been poor in attack and I don't see it changing any time soon.

Finished the week on 80 with a -4 due to a rejig caused by Ings so happy enough as I'm shockingly near the top of most of my leagues. First time that's ever happened.

I'm thinking it's time to ditch Son for Grealish but will wait in case of injuries.

58 when bonus is added.
Still have 3 Villa players in this next game, but away at Arsenal anything from them is a bonus!
Presume Ziyech went up overnight already? He's on 56% to go up now, so will probably think about Foden to him for a day or so, and hope to hear what TAA news is

25 points!!!
Watkins, Grealish and Martinez.

And Grealish could easily have trebled his 5 points!!

Does anyone know when the United-Burnley and City-Villa games are likely to be rescheduled for? That could be a decisive double gameweek.

Villa have pushed me over 70. Watkins will be coming in for Bamford as my 3rd striker.

I was going to get Bamford in who seems in good form and Leeds score goals. Any reason you are switching to Watkins instead? Just banking on the easier fixtures?

Should I do Jota in for Son? Feels like a sideways move but this way I avoid the price changes and it'll massively help down the road.

Watkins on the bench. Kill me now.

Didn't want 3 Villa away to the leagues best defence

Oh mate, that's severe!!

If i hadn't missed the deadline I was considering Lamptey starting with Watkins first sub, probs for the same reasoning as you!
However, I'd have also brought in Ziyech for Foden, so would actually have been about equal, so i'm not having it as good luck as such!

Who are your other 2 strikers?
I've been weighing up Watkins to Bamford for about 4 game weeks now, but needless to say I'm sticking with Watkins the way Villa are attacking, and the great fixtures for 6 of the next 7 games!
BUT, If I had Bamford I probably wouldn't make the switch, I'd try and get Watkins in for one of the others? Unless you have Kane and DCL then it's trickier!

I replaced butterfingers Pickford for McCarthy. And now i have a feeling that i should have pick Martinez.
Did i fecked up? I did, didn't i?

Don't do it. Son will play always and when Spurs score it is him or Kane. Jota will not play always

I think if you compare upcoming fixtures, Martinez would be the better choice.

Think I'll end up with around 75. Happy with that after a few really shit weeks.

Great week. Worst player was Son and with so many having him as captain I would have lost more if he hauled anyway.

I feel though it could have been even better. Brighton deserved a pen, Bamfords first goal was barely offside and Grealish was very close to score as well and could maybe have got another assist too.

Still could have easily been worse too I guess. Chilwells and Kane goal was pretty lucky. A cheap pen for Liverpool too and some pen misses that just helped my rank too.

People need to stop switching between Bamford, Maupay, Watkins, Wilson (and the other similar ones I may have missed).

You'll only end up missing out. These guys will all get similar points so you may as well leave them and focus elsewhere.

60 all out.

So many fires to put out (Guaita, TAA, Mitchell, Foden, Alzate, Maupay) but I've just snapped and rage transferred out Trent for Cancelo with an eye on City's upcoming run.

Will probably take a hit and move Foden out for Rashford as well if he's fit for West Brom.

Maupay can become Watkins/Antonio/Bamford in a later week.

Unless you get injuries you would want to switch something. I mainly try to focus on the fixtures though.
Watkins looks very tasty right now, but I already got Grealish and feels it is enough.

Kane or Son out for me after the IB. Vardy, Bruno, Ziyech the main candidates to get.

18 points from Grealish, Martinez and Konsa was a nice bonus, but cannot help but feel shortchanged to get no bonus for any of them!

Looks like I will scramble to 62, plus a -4 hit. Can’t imagine there will be much movement with that. Average for top 10k is looking like 62 and overall 55.

So is grealish due 11 points, ie 5 bonus points to come?

Erm no. Bonus points are 3,2,1.
He's not got bonus tonight so stays on 6.

(Not sure if i quoted 6 for him earlier forgetting the clean sheet point)

Yeah, I have Kane and DCL.

I’ll be transferring Wilson out for either Bamford or Watkins

61. Dropped 10 points on my mini league leader, but I knew this week was going to be tough. Didn’t expect clean sheets from 3 of the defensive 4.

Grealish and Watkins coming in now for a -4. Both will go up, whereas the players I’m transferring out are dropping. Hoping for no international injuries!

Good week with 82.

I was originally planning Son > De Bruyne to take advantage of City’s upcoming run, but think Fernandes could be the better pick and expect him to double rise as well over the international. Can always change to De Bruyne depending on whether City start firing.

Getting Fernandes would give me this which I’m really happy with:

Martinez
Chilwell - Reguilon - Coufal
Salah - Grealish - Fernandes - Rodriguez - Ziyech
Kane - Calvert-Lewin

Sub: Kilman, Brewster, Dallas

Will ship Reguilon for a City defender the week after given Spurs’ fixtures (bench him for Kilman before that as Wolves play SOU at home).

I usually see the upcoming fixtures and base off that. I see a lot of people dropping Rodriguez but he has Fulham, Leeds and Burnley next. No way I'll drop him until after those (unless he gets injured).

My plan is to save my next transfer then take out Son for Sterling and downgrade someone else as I need 0.1 to make that move. Hoping my team stays injury free and either Son goes up or Sterling goes down.

Thoughts on:

Ayling & Son > Chilwell & Ziyech

I have to do it tonight as I won't be able to afford it once Chilwell's price rises. Always risky before an international break.

As you say, there's always risk on international break and the two players your bringing in have recently been injured and been playing a lot of minutes.

Liking the look of Son & Jimmy > Bruno (c) & Richie for a hit.

Then may well do Kane & Mane > KDB/Sterling & Jesus for a further hit for GW10.

I would do that personally. There is a risk with such a long break, but if you’re getting priced out on a good transfer forces your hand somewhat.

I'll certainly take 82. Nobody could have expected that haul from Watkins, delighted with that. Next couple of moves Kane, Son, Mahrez out for Vardy, Fernandes, Ziyech.

Jaysus, really?! Son I can sort of understand, Kane is on fire though.

Yeah makes sense. Leeds vs Everton can hopefully be high scoring and Fulham is a good fixture too.
Although I feel like Fulham have improved a bit recently so might not be a destruction.

I am tempted by City, but the form is a worry. Spending 11.5 on a City attacker you want someone producing like Salah is doing so far.
Not sure Sterling will start doing it right now. KDB feel like he is finding assist form at least and should have scored the pen.

Yeah, I know. They've City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Palace away next 5. Just fancy Vardy a bit more over the next while.
True enough. Leicester have got a lovely run coming up, could be a great differential as I reckon most people have Kane.

Only problem is Vardy being good in big games too. Hard to know when to get him.
Although last year he went on scoring a lot when he had a nice run of games.

72 points total, would have been 76 had I picked Grealish over Hamez when I dithered but won’t complain too much over mere 4 points. Grealish becomes my permanent starter though and will be captain against Brighton next game week, they can get goals against pretty much anyone.

I feel that I’ve stroke perfect balance with this team. Took me some time and cash but I like the look of it a lot. I’m well behind in my league but there’s still 30 games left so plenty of time to catch up.

Maybe taking Son off for Bruno would be a good idea, sacrificing Bellerin or something, but it can wait. Son should be quite fixture proof and I am hoping other lads in my league start selling him soon, right now he’s a bit pointless as everyone has him.
