Bit early for a wildcard innit for the sake of a few points? you want to save that till the City/United/Villa and Burnley?? players have a double gameweek which surely they must in the first-half of the season. or use your free-hit.

Don't pay much attention to Leeds, well because they're Leeds, but didn't Dallas use to be a winger?

There is a lot we do not know yet. Such a crazy season. So I plan to use it to fix my squad early on.
Alright interesting with Dallas. I guess I would ideally see his position first.

I would like to get some feedback on my team. I want to improve my defense, no idea how to unless I drop Auba. I fear the lack of Liverpool players is gonna kill me

If you're comfortable using it so early in the season, use it, i'd just be fearful using it so early in case you get a run of injuries and you need to take a -16/20 point hit just to get a competitive team on the pitch before the January wildcard kicks in.

Depends on what formation you're going to use, I suppose. Are you planning on playing 3 forwards? I'd dump Calvert-Lewin myself. Knock him down to a 5.5 and you could get a Van Dijk in.

You got a very strong bench, but use up funds that can be used on your starters.
Faith in Leicester can work, but they ended last season pretty poorly.
I would downgrade Barnes to 4.5 and use the money to uppgrade many areas.

I'd lose Ziyech(not proven) or Barnes(not a regular starter) and get a steady Eddie like Ward-Prowse who will play every minute and score well for assists in midfield to get TAA or Virgil in, and swap Calvin-Lewin out after the first gameweek to get somebody like Brewster a natural goalscorer who will almost certainly get a Premier League move to get a second upgrade in defence, or get a better goalie.

No Liverpool or Manchester City players is a big risk. I would prefer atleast 2 from those teams in midfield and 1 in defense.
If you are going for good depth and bench strength then you have done well except maybe a bit of over reliance on Everton.

Planning to switch between 343 and 352. Want to have one of Arnold or Robertson - difficult without jeopardising the overall team balance.

Took Justin only because he is a cheap option and felt he would start the matches.
Actually wanted Pulisic/Maddision there - not sure both of them would start.

Justin or Dallas - who might be the better choice?

Wanted Maddison/Pulisic there - not sure either of them will start the season. Planning to ditch Barnes and bring Greenwood 2nd week.

There is anti fantasy when you should get as low points as possible. Although the guys need to play so not sure he is great in that one as long as Bruno is fit.

It's one of them innit re. your squad, you ask 100 people and they'd all give you a different answer.

Pereira isn't back till October so Justin will definitely start at right-back for Leicester City, and Dallas may well be on the end of a hiding at Liverpool on the first day so i'd go with Justin of the two though i'd have a look at Hegazi(same price) who has experience of the League previously and is useful in the oppositions box at corners and free-kicks.

Mental note to self, try and find room for Hegazi in one of my squads my squad

This BGW in GW1 is a nightmare.

I'm not fully convinced on Liverpool's opening 8 fixtures to go double defence. I think there's easy 4 games in that run they may concede. Probably still win most of them but it's a lot of money on the defence when the fixtures arent great.

Start with the 3-5 players that you DEFINITELY want - don't think past that to begin with.

After you've settled on that, start to fill in the other players and your team will begin to take shape.

Don't overthink it, just 3-5 players that you know you want. ;)

Would be a strange one. It's different if it's say McTominay last year, who was probably about 4.5m at the start of the season, and acts as a facilitator, but Lingard is probably a price you'd need a return from

Some managers think at a different level than us. Pogba out with the virus might give Lingard minutes. Scored in his last game last season.

Will leave it quite late, then see what's likely to happen with Leicester and Wolves full back positions.
Could be a lot of value there.

I still think Pogba will play by the time of the 19th myself. But there are some serious pros at this game.

I might dig out the vid of that Bulgarian guy who got stripped of number 1 last year.
Horrible comments/views he may have, but he might also have some interesting theories on selection.

It is hard to go your own way though. Since you need good value too. If it goes wrong betting against the flow it hurts you twice.

The major difficulty this year is those 2 Manchester clubs not playing week 1. Especially when Burnley - who many would use a defender from, aren't playing either.

Those early weeks are critical to get on those super fast risers, so the last thing you want to be doing is having to have transfers already pre planned.

That is why I am thinking about using an early wildcard. I don't think we will see insane value in defense. Unless say Leeds or West Brom turn into a defensive force.
All big sides cost a lot already. It is the cheap midfielders and strikers that everyone is waiting for.
 
No TAA for Liverpool vs Arsenal. Anyone know what is going on?
Also Milner starts which is something hurting all Salah owners if he plays.
 
Is there a Red Cafe league this season? Id like to join as usually just Lurk, i probably won't be much competition :lol:

Just done my first draft some of the players are so expensive I had 3 must haves which I've put in then the rest seem a bit rubbish!

All my team have to play the 1st game week as I have no "spares" on the bench due to blanks as wanted to secure KDB rather than shoehorning him in when City start up, Greenwood may have to go for now though

Salah didn't look good. Not sure who else to pick since Mane didn't look great either.
Think I might take them out early if they do not pick it up.
