Fantasy Football 2017/18

Played my wildcard as well due to Luiz getting send off and couple of injuries.

Added pretty much top 4-5 club players in a 4-3-3:

Lloris / Elliot

Otamendi / Alderweireld / Bailly / M.Alonso / Mbemba

de Bruyne / Can / Willian / Obiang / Romeu

Jesus / Lukaku / Firmino

Wondering whether I should make Jesus or de Bruyne captain for Palace..

Forget Gabbiadini. Saints have had a nice run from the start and he's done feck all. He was dropped last week for Shane Long.

Redirect some of the funds from defence to third striker. I'd replace Monreal with a 4m defender since you have Naughton as the fourth defender already.
I would actually keep Monreal. Just look at Arsenal's next 5 games.

I'm at a total fecking loss at what to do. Really should be using my wildcard this week, but I cannot get a well rounded squad.

My last attempt I had this:
Forster / Elliot
Cedric / Jones / Monreal / Mendy / Naughton
Eriksen / Coutinho / Ritchie / Gross / Obiang
Lukaku / Jesus / Gabbiadini

I'd be very happy with that defence, but the midfield seems a complete gamble and Gabbiadini a punt at best, only put him in there because Saints have a good run of games after we play them this weekend.

I have also toyed around with having 3 £10m+ strikers in the squad, and that does not work at all
Actually think Arsenal cover will be good for the new few weeks, they are bound to have a run of form and usually do around this time of year. Could you do Coutinho>Ramsay, Gabbiadini>Firmino? maybe wait last min for the Firmino transfer as he looks like he is going to drop in price.

Cheers. I've used my WC and have the following team:

Forster / Elliot
Cedric / Mendy / Monreal / Naughton / Mbemba
D. Silva / Ramsey / Gross / Atsu / Loftus Cheek
Lukaku / Jesus / Kane

Didn't like getting rid of Eriksen, but it gave me Kane and Ramsey, which is a decent coverage. Think the midfield is a little weak but hoping the strikeforce makes up for it. Might get in a Chelsea player somewhere once they get some better fixtures.

Captaincy is such a headache this week. Most forwards playing away against not-so-bad teams. City forwards are an option but Jesus played 90 minutes midweek.

Unless you have Aguero, it's a tough call.

After being close to pulling the trigger on the wild card I decided against it. Reason is Jesus played the whole 90 min. in midweek and I expect him to be taken off after 60 min. And a front 3 of Aguero, Lukako and Kane limits the rest of the team too much. So I am betting on Kane to deliver at least the same points as Aguero and sticking to my team. It is just one week of risk since City play Chelsea next weekend and than there are the internationals during which I will use my WC to gather some value.

I want to believe this, but having a hard time doing so. West Ham away will be tough, Palace at home won't. Even Lukaku has a more difficult fixture than Kun!

I am currently thinking of this:

Elliot / 4.0m

Kolasinac / Davies / Jones / Naughton / Mbemba

Mkhi / Salah / Ritchie / Gross / Carroll

Aguero / Kane / Morata

Really liking this team at the minute - reckon I'll stick to it.

With Mounie out, do I make the sub I plan to make next week now and lose 4 points (Chicharito) or hope Cedric gets some points against us tomorrow (hrs my first bench player)?

Might not be made up for if Kane doesn't pick up soon. I had to get rid of him because I was sick of it, specially considering the price. So yeah, he'll get you a hattrick this weekend.

I'm not sure those strikers will cover the really weak midfield even if he does though?

sorry, i've been well critical here

After much deliberation, I've decided NOT to buy Aguero and will captain Silva instead. That doesn't sound right, does it?
My faith in Aguero last season is the reason I didn't win my private leagues for the first time since playing this game so this year I left him out but I think it's pretty clear Pep trusts him now so I've finally put him back in.

Watch how he didn't play tomorrow.

Foster/Elliot

Naughton - Mbemba - Jones

Mkhi - Grob - Silva - Mahrez

Lukaku - Firmino - Ageuro

Others in bench - Chalobah - Cedric - Dawson.

Thoughts? I can change around a bit more.

Looks really strong but no spurs cover might hurt you when they find their scoring boots.

True. Can get salah in for Mahrez but hate banking on ‘pool that much :p. Will swap Kane in when he gets going. So the bank should help. Same for Ali/Eriksen.

I'm not convinced by Salah, went for Mane but was burned by that red card. Liverpool's points feel like a lottery so I generally try and avoid them; Firmino is probably the best bet and Klopp seems to love him. I think your team looks very good. I like the inclusion of Mahrez as differential (5% ownership) I had considered him early in the season after he got 3 assists but his next 2 fixtures put me off (us and chelsea). He has some nice fixtures coming up so it might be a good place to make some funds and sell before they play City.

I'm too reliant on spurs, I've had Alli/Kane since GW 1 and too stubborn to change now. Thankfully, I captained Kane when he scored his brace but for their price i'm really unsatisfied with the pitiful returns. I should get some Man City cover too but pep's rotation puts me off.

He was rested midweek so will play tomorrow. But there are other reasons why I feel it's an impulsive and short-sighted decision. The game against Chelsea, international break, good future fixtures for Kane and Lukaku.. the move doesn't seem feasible to me. I used the WC last week and should trust the team I made for a while.

My initial plan was to sell Morata for Jesus. But Jesus played 90 min while Stoke has defensive injuries, so I'll stick with Morata. That and I can't decide who to ditch for Aguero: Kane or Lukaku.

Who did you replace with Kun?

Cheers for that. Ali was in my team but have let go now for an extra solid-ish mf. Kane I didn’t have because of his weak August and Wembley blues but he is bound to get back to scoring regularly, maybe this week. Can’t have everyone and will rotate between kaku/Kane/Aguero with two playing each week.

Thanks for the constructive criticism friendo. I am worried about the midfield, but the next 5/6 fixtures are good, and I'm hoping some players go up in value so I can switch them out for better alternatives.

Tbh I spent far too long this week trying to sort the team out. I'm glad to have it done so I don't need to worry about it anymore.

I took out Morata.

Yup, I finally gave in. Took out Kane. Now watch him get Bilic sacked..
Even if Kane did well, does he do SO well that is worth having him and having a much worse MF. Or is it better to have someone in the 10m bracket and get a pretty good MF. I think the latter...

That's a good point, especially now that Hazard and Sanchez are back. My starting midfield was decent even with Kane (Salah, Silva, Ramsey). It's the defence where I've really cut corners and last GW wasn't bad in that respect.

As for Kane, I'll wait for Spurs to start winning home games regularly before thinking about it.

Hope Aguero gets injured today. With Kane scoring, can climb up in rankings if Kun flops today

Kane out, Kane scores 2 so far.

Breathtakingly certain.

Yet we all know if how sod's law would have worked the other way round!

Kane working out well so far - hopefully Kun (C) can do even better and I'll really shoot up the rankings.
