Fantasy Football 2017/18

God awful week, typified by having Ben Davies on the bench (2 assists and a clean sheet). Took out Aguero too.

Feck me, this weekend was another shitshow. 39 points, swapped KdB for Mane. Brought in Blind, and had Brunt both benched. Willian got 10 minutes..

I've mashed the WC button hard on Saturday night, but now I come to the café cap in hand...please someone help me!

So my line up was;

Foster
Zanka, Bertrand, Blind,
Brunt, Willian, Mane, Pogba
Lukaku, Kane, Jrod

Bench: Forster, Suttner, Chalobah, Francis

but I've WC to;

Foster
Zanka, Alonso, Nyom,
Ramsay, Ince?, Salah, Pogba
Lukaku, Kane, Chicarito

Bench: Elliot, Cork, Suttner, Rosenoir

Alternatively, I swap Lukaku for Morata and line up like

Ramsay, Salah, Pogba, Alli, Doucoure
Lukaku, Kane

Bench: Elliot, Hemed, Suttner, Rosenoir

Thoughts?

So I'm still trying to decide on Lukaku, Chicharito, Kane, or Lukaku, Jesus, Firmino?

I'm looking to sell Willian and I have £9mil to replace him. I currently don't have any City, Liverpool or Arsenal players and Willian is my only Chelsea player. Who's the best option?

David Silva or Salah if you're feeling a bit riskier.

I've had him since gameweek1; he's getting 90mins but hasn't delivered anything yet. He did very well in the Championship at Derby but he's adapting to a new team and the prem at the same time and I should have reconsidered that pick more wisely. Unless he has a great game tonight he's going to drop 0.1m. I've got Lascelles as my first sub (forgot to switch out Daniels) so i'm really hoping Ince doesn't come on. :annoyed:

Foster
Stones Cedric fosu-mensa
Mooy Alli Mkhitaryan Pogba
Chicarito Lukaku Kane

Subs
Elliot OriolRomeu Daniels Rangel

Any ideas on how to improve on this team. I'm currently leading my work league, don't want to lose ground. Haven't used wild card yet. I'm saving that for double game weeks.

Edit: I've got 0.9 in the bank.

Fosu Mensah to someone else (probably a cheap Swansea/Newcastle defender)
Stones to Danilo

I was thinking about getting Davies in for Daniels but you reckon having 3 Tottenham players might be a bit dangerous? Probably getting a Newcastle defender might be a good idea. Thanks.

You can get in Davies too. Spurs have 4 relatively easy fixtures.

Newcastle have the next 2.

If someone goes down by 0.1 and you sell, what do you lose? Anything?

Also, I put Mahrez in, but unsure whether to swap him for Mhki (Wildcard week so still free).

Then I'd have Mhki, Pogba, Lukaku though, which could be bad if we have a 1 niller with Jones scoring or something.

If someone goes down by 0.1m whilst he is in your squad, then you essentially lose that 0.1m from your team value. E.g. if a 10m player went down to 9.9m you will only have 9.9m to replace him with.

Re Mahrez, I think that could be a good pick as Leicester have some good fixtures coming up, though he seems to have lost penalties to Vardy. I think Miki on top of Pogba and Lukaku is a bit much, would much prefer to have a United defender/DDG in there.

God damn I made such an error this week with who would be rested out of the brazilians. Lucky it wasn't an 80+ scoring week, or I'd have been fecked. Wildcard is getting activated now.

Yeah I decided it's too much. Went for the more balanced approach.

I thought with the values, you only lost/gained half of how much it changes. I could have got that majorly wrong though.

I dont understand why you lose money the moment a player goes down in value but only get half value when they go up. Frustrating.

Davies has been one of the most frustrating players in fantasy for me.

Keep waiting for Rose to get back in the side which is seemingly never going to happen, and all the while this guy keeps bringing in the points for the rest of my mini-league. Wish I had got him in ages ago.

I am fed with Mounie, but there arent any decent mid-priced forwards, that deliver. I guess I will boost me defense and play 4-4-2 for a couple of weeks until the program changes again..

So you are correct when talking about value rises just not price drops.

E.g I have had Lukaku since the start, starting value of 11.5m. His value is now 11.7m. So I can then sell him for half of the profit made on the player. So in that example I could sell for 11.6m.

In contrast I've also had Kane since the start, starting value of 12.5. He's now dropped to 12.4 so I can only replace him with 12.4m in the bank. That would then go down to 12.3/2 etc.

Yeah makes sense, cheers.

I'd decided to get him now, even with the rises. I don't see any reason why Poch will kick him out when Danny Rose is fit, Davies has done a great job.

I think I've settled myself on either the two following teams;

Foster
Davies, Alonso, Cedric
Pogba, Erikson, Brady, Doucoure
Firmino, Lukaku, Kane

Foster
Davies, Alonso, Cedric, Simpson
Pogba, Erikson, Brady,
Firmino, Lukaku, Kane

Decent week, over the average again so I'm pleased. Moving the armband from Mane to Jesus while I was drunk turned out to be the best move I could possibly make taking me all the way to 40k OR and 15 in the redcafe table.

Saved some money ITB and have 2 free transfers, so I'll probably take a -4 and mini-wildcard it.
My team:
GK: Elliot, Begovic
DF: Azpilicueta, Valencia, Hegazi, Stephens, Long
MF: Eriksen, Mane, Brady, Atsu, Carroll
FW: Lukaku, Jesus, Gabbiadini

So already did Azpilicueta to Davies before his price went up, but now comes the tricky part.

The two who will be dropped from my team are Mane & Gabbiadini, so who should I get instead of them:
  1. Hazard - Vardy - two relative differentials and I fancy Hazard to come back big against Arsenal, while Vardy seems like a great option with amazing fixtures to come.
  2. Hazard - Firmino - costs a tad more, but leaves me with a Liverpool coverage. Will they do as well without Mane and with Champions League?
  3. Coutinho - Morata - How will Coutinho return to Liverpool is the question, and again, how will they balance the team with CL? will he play deeper? Morata seems like the safer gamble to Hazard atm though.

Picking the big hitters is always a massive headache. I am currently leaning towards option 1.

Pogba to Mkhi as well as a Mane replacement all round then

Planning to keep Pogba regardless. Selling him now would give me 8.1 when his value is 8.3. That'd be a loss of 0.2m and I'd have to spend 8.3m to get in Mkhi. By the time Pogba returns, doubt his value would go below 8.2 as we're talking about only a couple of weeks

Yeah I thought about replacing Pogba, but refuse to take that hit.

Can someone explain why when I want to transfer a player out I don't get back their full value? For example, Davies on my transfer screen is at 5.6. Once I select him, his actual value is at 5.7? I don't want to replace him, it's just an example, but it is the same with multiple players. I get 0.1 less for Pogba as well. I have had Davies from the very start as well.

Mkhi and Rooney

or

Hazard and Joselu/Tammy ?

Which one should I pick ?

Joselu has less competition, Swansea have Bony as well. I think Joselu looks a slight more dangerous as well.

Im looking to play a wild card and go

Forster
Cedric - Jones - Davies - Alonso - Mendy
Miki - Eriksen
Morata - Lukaku - Firmino

That's how it is. For every 0.2 increase, you get 0.1 back while selling. If player X was 10.0 and is currently 10.6, you will be able to sell him for 10.3. If he was 10.3 or 10.1, your sell value will be 10.1 and 10.0 respectively.

You get 50% of the profits, but they also get rounded down too

So Davies has gone up 0.2m and you can sell for 5.6m, 1m profit. But Pogba has gone up 0.3m and if you bought him at 8m you can still only sell for 0.1m as they round it down.

Ahhh okay, thank you.

Yeah..just a bit confused about ditching Mkhi early /getting Hazard early.Guess I will go with Mkhi and Rooney now and once Hazard start to find his feet I will bring him in.

feck I made my transfer and pigba is now probably out of the next game. Do I cost myself 4 points plus value loss to replace him?

Nice overall ranking - good job. Eriksen has been so much more productive than Alli this year.

Of your options personally I quite like #2. If going for #3 I would be tempted to pick Salah over Coutinho as I suspect he will continue to play more advanced and it's unclear how Coutinho will return to the side performance wise.
