The exact reason I don't use a bench. I have a very strong starting 11 players so I don't have to fight with myself every week about who I'm going to force to the bench.
Yes, but sometimes even then you might end up with points on the bench. For example, playing Bellerin ahead of Manquillo or Alderweireld ahead of Ward (Burnley).
Having an active bench is good imo. I actually like that part of the game where I have to assess fixtures and pick the best eleven accordingly. It can make the difference after 10 weeks when everyone has the same team

I could bring Alonso in for Bertrand but I'd have to downgrade Cedric and Atsu to Mbemba and Hojbjerg who aren't really going to have any impact. Pogba vs Miki?

Either looks strong at the minute. I'm sticking with Miki because I started with him and have gained the price rise but Pogba is .1 cheaper now I think.
I suspect Pogba will score heavily and then blank in bursts across the season while Miki will be more consistent with assists and smaller attacking returns.
I've stuck Miki in for now, but am still mulling. Did he really smash it last game or get lucky in last third of the game. Surely more likely to get dropped over Pogba too?

I just think that all through pre season, in the Super Cup and in the first 3 games he has looked the most creative player in our side. He's thriving in the space and protection Matic is allowing him and no player in the league has attempted more assists or key passes so far.
You're right that Pogba is less likely to be rotated though. It's a tricky call and you're going to make me start doubting myself as well now!
Heh - guessing opening para meant re Miki. If so, think I'd stick with him I suppose. Atleast they're similar prices so can be swapped once clearer picture.
Mkhi for me. Will provide assists and goals more consistently. He might be our main set-piece taker for this season also. Even in games where we switch to a 3-man midfield, Mata will be the one who is dropped.
Banked the transfer last week, now thinking of taking a -4 for a mini wildcard and 3 transfers. Plus, I got 1.5 ITB.

Not sure exactly what prices and money you're working with but what about taking out Azpilicueta and Gabbiadini for a Southampton/West Brom defender and Firmino plus a 3rd good midfielder in place of Ince?
Not sure about doubling up on West Brom/Southampton defenders(got Stephens and Hegazi already), and with Mane I think I prefer going Vardy rather than Firmino. But that's pretty much option C I reckon.
Jones? At 5.1 regular starter for a team which will peobably have the most clean sheets.
Thought about him instead of Valencia, but I think I'll wait for a WC(probably next international break) to do it and not spend a transfer on it. Won't double up on United defence as it's bound to jinx our good run.
Sorry I didn't pick up on Stephens there, that's pretty good cover. Vardy looks in good form but I'd worry that Pedro isn't a guaranteed starter and Wimmer has United, Newcastle away, Chelsea, Southampton and City in his next 5 fixtures!
Aye, But at 4.4 it's really a bargain and they can get a CS in both Newcastle(A) and definitely at home against Southampton who failed to score in two of three matches so far.
I'm just so tempted by Hazard coming back. Killed me last season with poor TC choice but I'm still in awe to him.
Hadn't seen his price - that is a massive bargain! Stephens, Hegazi and Valencia will get you through his tough run and you'll profit from it later.
I'm off to add him to my watchlist. Hopefully those fixtures will mean he won't rise too much and I'll get him in a few weeks time!

I know Arsenal are shite at the moment but I'm seriously tempted with a 1 week punt on Lacazette this weekend. I'm on my wildcard so no loss there but would mean ditching Kak a week earlier than planned before bringing in Kane.

Don't think your team really needs a wildcard. If you have any free transfers you could try to downgrade McAuley to someone cheaper (Say Mbemba) and then upgrade Matic or Milvojcic, as you would wouldn't want to be starting with one of those really, if you are playing 3-4-3. Or downgrade Matic to Carrol as you say and swap McAuley for someone of a similar price like Jones as you mentioned and go 433.
What does everyone think of Alonso? At 7.1 he represents a massive outlay for a defender, but if he ends the season as the highest scoring defender it will be worth it. Means downgrading an attacking player though so I'm hesitant
He's playing like a winger with chances for clean sheets. He's looked Chelsea's best player so far. He looks expensive but at 7.1 he's better than a lot of £7 midfield options. I honestly don't know why he isn't in my team yet.
Yep I'm just trying to figure out a way to fit him in. He is in a top 3 defence getting 4 points for a clean sheet, 6 points for a goal, playing as a winger and on free kick duty.
