Fantasy Football 2017/18

41. Dog shit really. Firmino saved the week.

Clark & Elliott off the bench would've given me a decent score but who the hell can't score against Newcastle? Hello West Ham....

Not sure what to do about Kane. Well mull it over during the international break.

Might be time to ditch Willian too with Hazard due to return.

I used bench boost this week, but the players on the bench (Elliot, Rodriguez, Gray and Naughton) haven't had their points added to my final score. Will they only get added on at the end of the game week? Or have I done something wrong?

I'm stuck on a measly 24 atm, but would be on 49 with the bench boost points. (still have Alli, Eriksen, Firminho and Alderweireld to play.)
They will get added at the end.

Really surprised by his bonus points. Will have to examine how they come up with the bonus points more closely.

De Bruyne is involved but not close enough to the opponents goal to pick up goals or assists. For his price the returns are not worth it.
There's been 3 games. If he picks up similar points as the last season he'll be worth it.

Bonus points are based on more than goals, assists and clean sheets. The PL has all the stats but only use a few for FPL unlike fantasy games like NHL draft.

49 points which is good since Hernandez blanked and I captained Lukaku. WC was worth it because players I brought in raised in price (Mane, Hernandez, David Silva, Jones). Rushed it and transfered out Britos for Schindler so I don't have to look every day if Britos will go down in price. I am 28 points behind the first one in my mini league.

They will get added at the end.

Yeah I cancelled it after I discovered you only get one per season. I'm not sure if cancelling it was the right choice, as 25 seems like a decent bench score.

Finished on 50 points. Really regret subbing out Naughton for bloody Alderweireld at the last minute. Could have done with his 12 points.

Thinking of taking a -8 hit to swap De Bruyne and Chicharito for David Silva and Morata...thoughts?

De Bruyne has already declined to 9.9 and Morata will increase to 10.1 tonight, so I can't wait any longer. To make my change I also need to change my 4.5 sub keeper to the 4.0 Elliot (Newcastle). I also don't want to use my Wildcard this early.

I'm top of my mini league, so I decided to take the hit and make the changes from a position of strength. 0.3 left in the bank for future tweaks.

....................Foster
.. Davies ...... Jones ..... Cédric
Alli .. Salah .. D Silva .. Redmond
.. Lukaku .... Morata ... Firmino

Tempted to go for Mkhitaryan instead of David Silva, but then I'd have no City players.

The problem is it is doubtful whether De Bruyne will pick up similar points to last season.

Recent interview by De Bruyne,

"I haven't scored yet, but I'm playing as a defending midfielder. My role changed, but my games are good. I know what I bring to the team and what my role is. No one knows what I had to do. People think I play as an attacking midfielder, that's wrong. They see Kevin De Bruyne, attacking midfielder, so he has to score and give assists. But they don't look beyond that"

He just talked himself out of everyone's fantasy league team

I am wondering if I should take a -4 hit now and bring in Firmino/Morata before their price increases tonight.

Any suggestions, guys?

My team, for context:

Forster
Bertrand, Hegazi, Danilo
Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Silva, Mane
Lukaku, Chicharito, Rodriguez

Elliot, Daniels, Carroll, Rangel.

Tough call. I'm still not convinced by morata. Plus Chelsea have some tough fixtures. But having said that, he's done alright so far.

Was thinking the same but Morata and Firminho both have big matches ahead so I will wait to get 2 free transfers and than decide what I need to change, maybe to do 3 transfers with - 4 points hit. I also used wildcard last week so it would be stupid to change again. My team currently is:
Foster (Elliot)
Jones - Cedric - Trippier (Schindler, Mbemba)
Richarlison - Mane - David Silva - Mkhitaryan - Alli
Lukaku - Chicharito (Gabbiadini)

The problem is both Firmino and Morata are going to increase 0.1 tonight.

Glad I got rid. 10m for essentially a DM is such a waste. Welcome David Silva and a £2m saving.

And they could both have bad week or two and go down again... A lot will be happening now with Hazard coming back, Liverpool and Chelsea will have easier fixtures after 2-3 weeks, Sanchez situation will be resolved etc. Personally I would wait.

Perhaps, but I'm sure Firmino will never be as cheap as 8.5 again. He's the striker in a very good attacking team and he's taking penalties. Glad I've had him for the start.

I had him and thrown him out. He is not a great striker and will struggle to make impact against teams who will drop deep. Arsenal played to their strengths really, other teams will not play like that. I was personally disappointed with Firminho and his play in first 2 games so I dropped him. Mane will outscore him easily in my opinion and he is midfielder, Salah probably also and Salah is only 0.5 more expensive.

Edit: I am confident there are at least 2 strikers which will score more goals than Firminho and are 7m or under.

That interview came after my post. Obviously things have changed now.

There wasn't any urgent need to do it but I've decided now is a good time to swap my side about. Run out of patience with Ramsey and Willian and my defence needed a rejig. I've had to ditch Kane too but left enough in the bank to swap him in for Kak when the time is right.

Gone from

Foster / Elliott
Clark / Stephens / Van Aarnholt / Dunk / Danilo
Ramsey / Willian / Mooy / Eriksen / Carroll
Kane / Lukaku / Firmino

to

Foster / Elliott
Alonso / Cedric / Naughton / Schindler / Davies
Mane / Brady / Alli / Mooy / Mkhitaryan
Abraham / Lukaku / Firmino

£0.9m in the bank.

I figure as well that I can use this long break to catch price rises and drops (Kane might drop tonight) by hitting the wildcard button at the last possible minute. Missed out on Micky rising to £8.3 overnight though. And Jones went up too.

Another weekend to forget! 33 measly points. 10 below the average.

Captained Lukaku...obviously
21 points on the bench...obviously

KdB is gone. It looks pretty clear he is sitting a lot deeper, looks great for City but not for FPL. I can't chance it with any other City players so I've swapped for Mane. It was either him or Salah, but for the extra 0.6 I think Mane will outscore him.

Also binned Bellerin, Arsenal defensively look worse than ever...which is quite some achievement considering their past. So little chance of a clean sheet. Brought in Blind, slight risk that Shaw may come and take his spot but I think Mourinho is happy with Blind.

Bony might be a decent shout as 3rd striker.

Can't work out what price he is though.
Anything more than 6.5 would be a shame. Annoying because Tammy Abrahams was actually a nice option at 5.5, but will probably be pushed to the bench now.

I doubt it. He's better than Bony and I'm sure Chelsea have some kind of clause in the contracts of their loan players insisting they play X amount of games.

I could take Kane out and have upgrades all over my squad with the wildcard, including bench. Would mean Firmino in his place, Alonso instead of Mee, Bailly instead of Jagielka, Zanka instead of Tuanzabe, Mooy instead of Redmond. 0.6 in the bank.

Very very tempting but Spurs have a nice run after the next game.

Yeah he's gonna start smashing it soon. His underlying stats suggest he's been unlucky so far. I think I'll rotate him with Kak throughout the season. Having both cripples your team somewhat.

Firmino and one of the 2 is great shout.

Yeah, I could do with leaving enough in the bank to be able to swap them really. Particularly if Lukaku gets injured.

Yea I've thought of kicking Kane out if he doesn't score next GW, but leaving 2.5m in the bank so I can bring him back in.

You just know he is going to starting banging them in the week you don't have him though.

Yeah definitely. And the longer you wait to boot him out the sooner he scores two and gets an assist the next game  ffs

Renato Sanchez is only 5m. If he is played further forward to accommodate the departure of Sigurdsson, then he'd be a great value buy.
