I did meticulously plan for it, and did very well, but I fecked it all up by captaining Firmino instead of Salah :lol: Got 71 but should have hit 100 :o

:lol: There's nothing worse. I did something similar last year by setting my team up for a DGW triple captain but then forgetting to do the triple captain bit...
 
Is anyone of our defenders (bar DDG) going to play both Swansea, Shitty, WBA and Bournemouth? Not sure I can see it happening, personally

Stupidly had him in for a while because I thought he’d come in for Stones but Pep is choosing Kompany. Maybe he rests Kompany for the CL now though.

Probably not but I've gone Bailly who surely has the best shout of the lot if he's fit.

Likewise I've also bottled Alonso and gone Azpi for similar reasons. Watch him score a brace now.

Ok, so managing the last 7 gameweeks is pretty easy if you have all the chips left.

Naturally, as a new chip, a lot of us used that Freehit earlier, either to cover a lot of weakenesses, get a temporarily unavailable big value player out, or in FA Cup QF week.

What are people doing who only have the BB, Wildcard and Triple captain?

Only Burnley (is it?) that have a double in week 34 have a game in 35, and the to be re-arranged games look likely to be in 37.

Wildcard in 33 to benchboost in 34? This would leave you pretty short in 35 if you wanted a full double playing 15. You'd need 3x Burnley, and then probably have 3-4 others playing in 35.

Triple captain (probably Kane) in 37?

Now, I struggle to wrap my head around how to spend my chips. I've got all thre left, but I think that I'm able to get through GW 35 without using free hit. Which again enables me to field an exceptional XI for GW37. Which is better than a triple captain that week, surely. But, then I don't really have any good weeks left to play triple captain. Should i just free hit GW35, and use triple captain in GW37?

Still don't see the good choice in Laporte. Kompany and Otamendi has played recently. I'd pick Smalling or Christensen.. or switch between them from game to game. Otherwise a good team.
 
I've redone my backline, couldn't see the logic in Laporte either. Changed Mee to Lowton, Laporte to Davies.

Yeah selling value/real value is 105m. I’m in a few different minds though as tempted to try and bring Kane in for GW34.

Other option I’m thinking is just go straight to this:

De Gea/Ryan
Jones/Christensen/Tarkowski/Lowton/Morgan
Son/Mahrez/Salah/Willian/Gudmonsson
Aubameyang/Lukaku/Vardy

Then will go Auba to Kane and try and make up the 2m somewhere (feck knows where though).

Could potentially drop both Jones and Christensen by 1m (say Chilwell / Dunk) but not sure if it’s worth it.

Sounds like Jones is back and he has typically been first choice for Jose. It’s between Jones / Smalling / Bailly. Baillys minutes are clearly being managed and with him being the only one of the three to be on international duty it wouldn’t surprise me to see a Smalling - Jones pairing. Seems like the perfect game to ease the latter back in from injury
 
Some pre deadline knee jerking from me based on line up rumours (Sterling possibly ill, Jones and Rojo not turning up with the squad) and the constant Lukaku price rises messing up my planned transfers has led me to settle on this wildcard...

De Gea / Ryan
Alonso / Bailly / Lowton / Dummett / Simpson
Salah / Son / Willian / Mahrez / Mkhi
Lukaku / Vardy / Barnes

with Mkhi and Dummet becoming Gross and Vertonghen for gw34 bench boost.

Really wanted to keep Auba up until 34 but not keen on taking a minus 4 to sort it all out. Feel that having Mhki will mitigate any damage he might cause me.

Now have I got the balls to put the arm band on anyone other than Salah...

Been a nightmare of a wildcard. Toghest I can remember.
 
Nice start, 1st sub who won't come on scores v Liverpool.

Darn my insane feeling that Richarlison will come good despite not scoring or assisting in about 15 weeks :lol:
 
Few Wildcard highlights:

Lukaku - he was always getting his 100th PL goal today.
De Gea clean sheet.
Robertson assist and 3 bonus points.
Late, late Vardy goal. I got rid of Firmino for Vardy, so it's nice that he blanked.

All going to plan so far. The one black mark was Murray missing a penalty.
 
The big take out for me is that Bailly isn't a lock in defence . In that case he can do one next week for Vertonghen and I'll transfer Jesse in to complement Dave and Kak in my United treble up.

Also I was right to think no City was stupid. Had Stering, Sane and Silva in at some point during my wc. Ended up with Mhki.

Yeah but Morgan's 5 points compared to Schmeichel's 15 doesn't make me feel much better. He wasn't on a wildcard either, so just a really well timed transfer from him.
 
More Wildward success - Mustafi clean sheet and 2 bonus points. Annoyed that he isnt being given an assist for the flick on to Aubameyang though.
 
Bameyang brace has got me up there again but still not getting any more points than the highest scorers in my league so not moving. Annoying.
