Fantasy Football 2017/18

My wildcard squad at the moment with £0.4m in the bank

De Gea / Fabianski
Davies / Robertson / Bailly / Simpson / Lowton
Salah / Mahrez / Son / Sterling / Willian
Aubameyang / Firmino / Barnes

I'm sure I'll tinker with it more right up until the deadline but that's a decent starting point. I don't think Davies or Sterling will start both dgw games so I might bring in someone more nailed in their spots and I've got to decide how many Liverpool players to hold on to. Salah will obviously be going nowhere but Robertson will likely have to go and I'll have to decide between a single gw for Firmino or a double for Vardy. Aubameyang will become Lukaku if I decide to go with the latter.

* Blank GW35 confirmed. only the following matches taking place now

Everton v Newcastle
Stoke v Burnley
Watford v Palace
West Brom v Liverpool
Man City v Swansea
Arsenal v West Ham

Defo free hit on that week. Will allow me to negate the effects of a squad heavy with United, Chelsea and Spurs players. City, Liverpool and Arsenal attacking options all look very tasty.

You sure you need to FH that week? Wouldn't you free hit when UTD and Chelsea get their double game?

I have Auba, Mahrez etc now too. Not sure whether to bring in Son now, or after the City/Chelsea games.

Will free hit when UTD and Chelsea have an extra game. Bring in Hazard, Lukaku, Bailey, Sanchez. Everything in my ml has used their chips, no one has Hazard or Lukaku or many from these teams. Might be a difference maker in me gaining some ground.

Chelsea and United will have 2 doubles so I want to set them up before GW34 and carry them through to the second one. I've just put Alonso and Lascelles in for Davies and Bailly (lost £0.3m on Davies so that hurt a bit). I'll carry my next transfer and probably do both Firmino and Auba out for Vardy and Lukaku on GW34 (and maybe a hit to take out Robertson or Sterling). Touch wood, no injuries my DGW team should be

De Gea / Fabianski
Alonso / Stephens? / Lascelles / Simpson / Lowton
Salah / Mahrez / Son / Sterling / Willian
Lukaku / Vardy / Barnes

with all but Salah having a second game (barring rotation). The Free Hit would be more useful for me on 35 to get in Arsenal, City and Liverpool players. The bigger conundrum is how to get Kane back in for the second double if he's fit by then....

Hi guys, I may need some advise here since I don't have loads of time and I am 9th in my internal league (1st three runners get some prizes).

I have the following players:

De Gea (Pope)
Lascelles / Van Dijk / Alonso / Otamendi (Schindler)
Salah / Shaqiri / Erisken / Milivojevic (Lingard)
Rooney / Firminio (Niasse)

And I have already used my wildcard and FH.
I was thinking to change Rooney for another striker, but I can't find any proper one..

Thanks guys!

Hazard or Abaumeyang? I want to bring in Hazard because of Chelsea's fixtures and he can be the main man to score going forward + hes on penalties.

Arsenal have good fixtures too... not sure who to bring in..

Auba is the safe option. Hazard is the risk. But when hazard is on it, he'll get big points. Such an annoying player.

Hmm struggling to get my head around planning this.

Currently my team for the next game week is:

pope (foster)

Jones VVD Chiwell (Naughton, Francis)

Mahrez, De Bruyne,Salah,Sane,Milo

Wilson Auba

Looking at making these transfers over the next few game weeks to set up for GW 35

Jones - Bailey, De Bruyne + Milo for Son and Willian or Silva.

Looking at my team, suggestions for when i should play my FH? Was wanting to play it when United and Chelsea play twice with the easy fixtures. Or maybe like you said, maybe I should wait til Kane.

Rooney? Christ, literally anyone would be an improvement. Burnley have some good fixtures and a double game week coming up so Barnes or Wood, Murray is in good form but Brighton have a tough run in. If I were you though I'd do 2 transfers and downgrade either Shaquiri or one of your defenders so that you can at least afford Vardy + another. How about Shaquiri and Vardy out for Kennedy and Vardy? Or better still Vardy and Gudmonsen. Do you have enough?

7 game weeks to go, and 3 chips left. Wildcard, Bench boost, Triple captain.

If the double game weeks are 34 and 37 like expected, it'd in theory be a wildcard in week 33, benchboost 34, and then triple cap 37

There is the option to do it in this 2 week international break which would need to try to cover the teams with 2 games in 34 & 37,.
By not making a transfer in week 33, this would give a security blanket of 2 transfers going into the week 34 benchboost, as if you don't have 15 players you aren't maximising.

To do the wildcard now would mean we need the fixtures out asap

if you don't have 15 players you aren't maximising.

You won't find many people taking Salah out, even without a DGW.

Is there a reason to bring in Son? His fixtures suck and blanks in 35...

Do they? Chelsea up next will be tough but historically there's goals in that fixure and with Kane injured Son is the main man. Stoke after that and then a double gameweek with likely 2 home games against City (who might have bagged the league and will be resting for the CL) and Newcastle. They will also likely have a second DGW against West Brom and Brighton.

My team for the DGW34 is looking like this - and I'll be bench boosting for this week.

DDG / Fabianski
Bailly / Christensen / Mustafi / Lowton / van der Hoorn
Salah / Son / D. Silva / Willian / Kenedy (or Gudmunsson)
Aubameyang / Lukaku / Ayew

Everyone but Salah will have a DGW.
Considering replacing D. Silva for Mahrez... it's so far away so I'm sure there will be injuries etc that change it. But that's my thinking for now.

I wouldn't mind Ayew when he's back from suspension. Swansea have some winnable fixtures and plenty to play for.

Are you going with team from this next gw or are you going to phase some players in?

Doesn't Tottenham blank in 35?

Tosun seems like an immediate upgrade, in good form and gives you an extra half mil for strengthening you elsewhere.

Yeah Swansea have a good dgw, two winnable home games and Ayew should come in after his ban.

And yes, that team will pretty much be my team for the next two gameweeks (Murray in until Ayew becomes available for the dgw).

Still think I need either Vardy or Mahrez in there though, somehow.

That's why you use your free hit in GW 35. I'm just getting him in now before he rises. Can always dump him later because I'm on my wildcard. It's 11 days until I need to decide my team.

Yeah I guess.. what are the implications on team value when using free hit? What if I get son in now, he rises .02 or .04 and I get rid of him for the free hit.. will I be forced to take in profits for his sale in that gw?

opinions...

Alonso, Sterling, Firmino, Barnes vs Christensen, Gudmundsson, Lukaku, Vardy ??

Gut says the first one is more explosive, second is less rotation risk.

Is now a good time to be using a wildcard?

Pope
Hegazi Davies Azpili
Lingard Salah Sane shakira
Vardy Auba Firmino

is my current starting team.

The squad will reset to the way it was the last deadline (i.e. can't make transfers that stick) but you will gain the player prices on the players.

After playing your Free Hit chip, at the next deadline your bank balance and squad is restored to as they were at the previous deadline, with any player price changes in the previous gameweek reflected.

Any change to your bank balance whilst the Free Hit chip was active will be lost.

Dont have bench boost left, but wildcarding this week:

De Gea, 3.9
Lowton, Ward, Smalling, Mustafi, Christensen
Salah, D.Silva, Mahrez, Willian, Mkhi
Lukaku, Aubameyang, Ayew

Prolly switch Son for D.Silva after this next GW

Yeah just seen them. Bit of a spanner in the works! Will definitely need to get at least one of Mahrez/Vardy in. Swansea a bit pointless now.

Still don't regret using the wildcard. Worth it just to see the back of Walcott and Pickford. Saw this the other day that made me crack up...

Triple captain Mahrez or Lukaku in the first double? Tough one!

Hmmm, those fixture announcements were not what I was expecting. Not so keen on Auba now and no point going heavy on Swansea.

Chelsea, United, Leicester and Spurs investment looks promising.

Auba plays the blank and the second double. Could still be a differential depending on how things pan out. Think I'm gonna keep him and get Lukaku in for both doubles. Vardy is obviously tempting too.

I've got free hit for that blank so the challenge for me is to construct a team built around both doubles. I think taking the best from United, Chelsea, Spurs and Leicester is a good start so that means building it around De Gea, Lukaku, Alonso, Willian, Mahrez, Son and Vardy. Annoyingly we play City (probably for the title) in GW33 and Spurs and Chelsea play each other in the next game (I'll probably want 2 Spurs players too). Not to mention all of Spurs, Chelsea and United still have the FA Cup to play for.

Here's the latest from Ben Crellin...
