Fantasy Draft DISCUSSION ONLY Thread

I think even 16 people is too much! What if we could all pm our picks and backup to someone, they can then post it up on our behalf so we can get this moving if offline.

I understand someone not already participating, right? But, that might complicate and get things in disorder... I guess it is Erics_Collar's call...

Let's have a push to get everyone's second pick out tonight. This could get boring soon.

Easier said than done - people are in different timezones, some people might not be able to access internet at work etc etc.
Might have worked better if only Europe based people did it as then Im sure it would have gone a lot faster ... perhaps something to remember for next time.

In hindsight, perhaps 8 teams would have been enough but at the time 16 teams seemed fair enough to me.

Interesting idea but would need someone who is online a lot to volunteer to do it - doubt anyone could be arsed?

Perhaps we just have to accept that it will take some time and be patient!

Cant deny it Arsene knows his players.

Dont worry im confident ill get my more favoured players.

:smirk:

Since we are supposed to pick players whose form should only be considered during their Premiership years, I say that we should stick to statistics and honours that are won with their own Premiership club(s)...

No. And please stop trying to twist the competition in your favour. Just stop it.

Chose David Beckham this round, very difficult. Becks will supply hard work, pin point crosses and deadly freekicks for my team

Yeah, that would bend the rules, that people might not pick players like Veron, who sucked in the Premiership.

Yes, but the competition is based around the players Premier League form, right ?

"When selecting a player, it is important to remember that you are only picking them on their Premiership/Premier League form, i.e. if you pick Shevchenko, you get his form at Chelsea only, not Kiev or Milan!"

I agree with that - it is in the rules after all that anything outside the Prem does not count

What we type in the picks thread wont influencne other peoples voting that much, if it all.

They'll just look at the teamsheet, make decisions from there.

Come on Smash-E, make the pick before the game kick off... :)

Made my pick before Smash-E, I assume he won't go for 2 keepers in his team. But if he did, I'll change my choice later. :)

Btw, Smash-E, can you please PM roodboy when you're done. Thanks

Sorry mate, was sound asleep :p

I made my pick... hahah it's going to be unpopular in the caf :P

My plan was Zola or Becks.... but i had to go to my 3rd choice

I think I already regret my choice but I need a goal scorer and doubt there will be many left by the time I come to pick again ...

Will have to rethink my choice now, Lampard got taken.

There won't be any good United players left for me to pick. :(

Hello? Even looking at the recent performances, you could still pick the likes of:

Nemanja Vidic
Michael Carrick (Who was good in Spurs, too)
Gary Neville (remember when he was sharp?)
John O'shea (Can look into him as quality utility player)

And if you think a bit more, regarding United greats, you could have the likes of:

Denis Irwin
Gary Pallister
Mark Hughes (even if only a couple of years in EPL)
Bryan Robson (same as above)

Plus, why are you only thinking of getting ONLY United players? There's always people like Les Ferdinand, and even Jamie Carragher~!

^^^
Keep you damn mouth shut mate !!

Great call with Jamie Carra though, clearly the best defender in the world bar none - I would pick him asap if I had the chance :D

Exactly!

And just for your kind information, Stam has won excellent honours when not with United as well, especially with Milan.

Don't come and make sweeping statements just for the sake of saying something. It's nothing short of ridiculous.

I think people seemed reluctant to pick Lampard & Gerrard, but these are good choices. Consistently two of the best midfielders in the league over the last 5-6 years.

it was really hard for me to decide who to pick out of Gerrard and Lampard. Both a great midfielders in my eyes, but Gerrard edges it imo.
