He will get a run of matches and the tone here will shift from complaining about him never starting to complaining about how shite he is.
I would rather see him given chances and fail than be left wondering what could've been.

That said, recent string of unfortunate events conveniently fell in his favor so he should get his chances. If not then he might as well hand in a transfer request.

you could argue this is exactly the time our only right footed right winger should get a run in the side, with rasmus a constant presence in the box

Not at all. At this age players are better to be held on long term deals (it’s not like he’s on massive wages) because they actually hold value even when they’re not playing that much. He does look quite quick from a standing start which is one thing Sancho/Antony aren’t so interesting to see if he starts.
He's already on a long-term deal though. If we take up the one year option, his contract would go until 2026. Better off waiting until the end of the season and making a decision then.

Exactly correct. Will be the same with Amad too.

Can't wait to see the fume in here when either Rashford or Bruno start on the right.

Perhaps he hasn't amassed a good amount of game time at United because he hasn't earned it.
I think it's more to do with ETH wanting a different type of player, there's nothing in what he and others have done on the pitch that suggests it's about earning it.

Alaves may have been relagation fodder but Pellistri wasn't even among their few bright sparks and he didn't earn the trust of the manager to earn a good amount of playtime. Amad for instance still scored three good goals during his I'll advised loan spell at Rangers. He showed his quality in the face of adversity and bad conditions for his continued development

The crazy thing is the loan move and club was one of his and he's agent's choosing, and they elected to return for an even more disastrous second spell.
We agree it was a poor choice to begin with and absurd that he returned.

Again, not much to do with earning anyone's trust. A side fighting relegation is never going to invest and/or take risks to develop a player for another club, there's no upside Rangers can afford a loanee more minutes and a more appropriate setup for an attacking player.

He had hardly played at all for months when an incoming NT manager resorted to him. Where's the difference? Quality? Earning trust? Nope, it was just a worthwile investment and a necessary one (since you can't try fix shortcomings with your wallet in internationals).

Does this lad have a girlfriend? You think we should send the police over there for a wellness check?

He’ll probably feck off if he doesn’t start a few games in the next month or so.

If Facundo doesn’t get the start under these circumstances he needs to be sold in January.

Man Utd 1:3 Brighton
Request a transfer kid. You probably aren't good enough. However, we're never going to find out when the manager prefers McTominay on the right of a diamond ahead of you. If that's how low Ten Hag rates Pellistri it ain't worth the lad sticking about. If he's wrong about it, we won't reap the benefits. If he's right there's no need to hold on. Sell and get some money back.

Yeah, his career under ETH is done here. He made up his mind and Pellistri wont be playing much

Yeah thought today would have been perfect for him to start, but for whatever reason ETH would rather not play on the right side at all. I would leave.

Comes on, puts in a nice cutback which no one picks up. Whereas Brighton score their 3 goals with the same kind of cutbacks.

Should have been brought on sooner. Sad, ETH doesn't rate him. Just move him on. 5mins every game doesn't help anyone.

Five minutes whilst losing by two haha.

Yeah the cutback situation was a hair pulling situation

Why was he not loaned or sold when there is no intention of playing him. I just makes no sense from football or financial perspective and is another example of why there is still no structure or plan at the club.

He is so naive, that based on that alone, he will never make it here. ETH is bullying him at this point.

Yeah if he doest start playing more in the few games it means that ETH doesn't rate him at all. He ll definitely leave in January or next summer. No point keeping him.

I don't get it, ETH had a whole year to judge him, why do we keep a player if he will only play if Antony, Sancho, Diallo, Bruno are unavailable? Even then, we play with a diamond. That's not squad depth logic. That's just bad planning.

ETH is clearly not as good as people hoped on here. Extremely stubborn and a bad man manager on top. It leads to nothing medium to long term, an unhappy squad.

I don’t get how he didn’t share any minutes with our new striker.
He’s a good young player, he hasn’t kicked on here at all due to lack of opportunity, the manager needs to put more trust in young players even if they don’t have world class potential.

Hard to say he’s a bad man manager. This kind of style is good if the club is successful but starts to appear toxic when things go south. Case in point: Jose Mourinho.

When he's come on he's usually done something like that, plays the ball into dangerous areas. What's even more annoying is that they had Lamptey at left back, so he would have had to defend against him on his wrong side.

But the guy you spent 100m on to play right wing is out, so the obvious move is to change your whole setup so as not to play the only other right winger you have available.

He should leave as soon as he can. I expect that he'll play for someone like Brighton in a few years and terrorise us regularly.

Clearly the manager doesn't rate him and would sooner try every rubiks cube combination than start him. He must seriously question why he is here at the moment as there is no Sancho, Anthony or Amand and he still coming on for 5 mins.....

And this is why players like Bellingham don't touch us anymore, and would rather go to Dortmund

Yea, it's infuriating. We didn't let him leave on loan and are now trying to give him a new contract and your manager would rather change the whole system before giving you a chance even when 4 other right wingers(Antony, Sancho, Amad, Greenwood) are out. Comes on for the usual 5mins when the game was lost anyways.

He'd be smart to not sign that contract and just request to leave. Fair enough if ETH doesn't trust him and thinks he's not good enough. Just don't keep him because of 'reasons'. He is not going to develop with 5mins every game.

ETH would have had way more leeway yesterday had he given chance to some of our youth.

Can he fake some picture of himself in any Dutch club kit and let Ten Hag see it, might get a game then.

We will never know if he is good enough, should have been straight on when we went 2 down yesterday.

Should demand to leave in January, no point sitting on the bench watching that crap, better off playing for a smaller club.

Its infuriating. Losing at home by 2 goals and he waits for 5mins remaining before putting on Pellestri and Garnacho. All while having the majority of our attacking options out for one reason or another.

I wouldn't blame Pellestri if he doesn't sign the new contract. Why should he?

Reminds me of when Ole did not play VDB and fans were upset. Then Ole got sacked and VDB was shown to be complete shite

Maybe because Ole signed VDB, fans expected a role or idea to use him.

Ole signed Pellestri also, maybe he is shite too, but at least give him a game to see when both of the clubs expensive flop wingers are absent.

Yea, no problem with that. Just sell him if you think he's shit. We are not asking him to be our first choice right winger. We are asking why he is not starting when 4 other right wingers are out. Stop giving out pointless contracts to players who the manager thinks is rubbish. Sell him while he still has some value. We will end up giving him away on a free like Bailly if he never gets a chance.

I can understand if ETH thinks Pellestri isn't ready for a start. But bringing him on in the 85th minute when our forwards have been terrible all game is down right absurd.

That's the whole point of subs, if the system or players aren't working. You change it up. It smacks of someone dithering or not knowing what to do.

If Rasmus needed coming off due to fitness reasons then put Rashford up top and bring Garnacho and Pellestri on for the left and right. Its hardly fecking rocket science.

Even if he is shit (small evidence has shown he's not), we still won't know until he gets the chance and it's tragic when Scott fecking Mctominay gets to start over him.
