Arsenal fans seem convinced he would go back to them if he was available.
1. But where did the quote "urgent transfer business" come from?True, but would he fly across the world on "urgent transfer business" if Barcelona/Fabregas hadn't given some encouragement? The fact that he is physically needed to be in Manchester suggests that the Fabregas transfer (if that's what he flew back for, as Moyes claims) is moving forward, not stalling.

Martinez was bought was around 40 million wasn't he? Fabregas is better, surely?£40million, stretching to £45million if absolutely necessary

This is great. With Moyes in Australia we get some early morning muppetry as well.
I still have no idea why Fabregas would want to join us or why Barcelona would want to sell.
Fantastic news, if true. The club generally do not speak about ongoing negotiations unless we are at an advanced stage (see RVP last year). It is very positive that Moyes has spoken publicly about this, especially after saying that he won't name specific targets only a few weeks ago.
why do i always have the feeling that we are in for the wrong players....

Same here. Makes no sense. Hence I am extra sceptical on this one. Although I guess there's a chance....I still have no idea why Fabregas would want to join us or why Barcelona would want to sell.

2. As has been pointed out, if Woodward had to scramble home for a transfer it may not be good news. It may because the transfer plans are unravelling.
3. If united do not get any marquee signings then it will be useful to say " we tried!"
I'm skeptical too but I'm not how much sense it makes to publicise our negotiations unless we're confident of making it happen.I can't help feeling we'll end up with egg on our face. I'd like to trust that Moyes and Woody know what they're doing, but this hunt for Fabregas just seems pointless to me.
Would love it if I am wrong, though.
To be honest, to me, its not exactly what Moyes said - because i found that kinda open to interpretation that The Equalizer was just gonna follow up on the bid, but its the headline on our website: "David Moyes has confirmed Manchester United are in negotiations to sign midfielder Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona"
They're actually goin full-muppet on this one too, because we're in fecking talks about gettin him - they'd never put that up there unless its happening.. Oh Yes, oh yes indeeedy - as Stu Allen would say on Key 103
I'm going full muppet mode too but keep in mind that the persons who maintain the website are not privy to inside information from Moyes/Woodward. They often post transfer gossip and rumors just like other tabloids and are just as big muppets as the rest of us

I still remember when we announced the signing of Aaron Ramsey. What a disaster.
I wonder if our fans will go all mental over Moyes being extremely disrespectful to Barcelona like they did when Pep spoke about Thiago.
Once a muppet always a muppet
Bbc reporting that Moues has said Woodward has gone home to attempt sign Fabregas.
Can't think any strong reason of why Fab would want to join us; other than he wants to make a name for himself, instead of living under the shadow of Messi and Iniesta (and probably Neymar later on).
Carrick - Fab - Kagawa - Mata - v.Persie. What should a man do to make this dream comes true?

Well thats just ludicrous, why would he want to go back to not winning anything for the rest of his career?

Maybe he just wants to be loved. Ronaldo is a prime example of the Spanish muppets not being able to lace the boots of our muppets.
