Fabregas to Barcelona!

So after all this Arsenal accept not that much more than they could have got last season?

Wenger has screwed this one up royally. Be interesting to see who they get in.

Midfield is now immeasurably weaker for them. Ramsay has a lot of promise but he won't replace Cesc yet (if at all).

They'd have got less last season, that's to be expected. He's a year older, a year closer to end of his contract, and he's suffered from injuries.

Barcelona are a club that know how to sign top players. I can't ever remember them fecking deals up like we do

They're selling him for a paltry amount (relative to what they wanted and what he might be worth), when is on a long contract, when their second best player is also keen to leave, three days before the season starts.

It's imbecilic.

I actually preferred him staying at Arsenal. Now they can actually move on from this nonsense hanging over their heads and invest in players who want to play for Arsenal football club. Although, I do realize they won't get anyone nearly as good as him.

I'm sure the gooners preferred Ronaldo/Rooney staying for us.

What shit statements by some that barca know how to deal and man utd don't! The thing that barca have for them is that 99% of there targets want to play for them & only them. Like mascherano, there targets will even take a pay cut to join. So of course they will get there target. The problem we have is that whoever we target city or chelsea will also target and offer bigger wages.

So ofcourse we will gey shafted more often than not.

Also if barca were so good at there business then they wouldn't be in debt...before anyone says it, we were put in debt because of buyout, not because of poor running of business!!

He's not worth what a player of his quality ordinarily is, price is set by supply and demand, in the case of a footballer, it's by demand, and for Fabregas there is only one club who can realistically sign him, Barcelona. They know they're going to be offered less and less money every year until his contract expires, and Barcelona aren't exactly desperate to sign a midfielder at the moment, they can afford to wait it out.

Why he didn't want to come here, what are we supposed to do? Force him?

Alongo with Ramsey too.

Could have done more, whatever. I just tried to look for examples.

I'm sticking with Ramsey though: heck, we even announced on the official website that we had agreed a fee... and he was a United fan. If Fergie had gone personally to meet him, he'd have signed for us.

Real are fecked next season once again.

You really think so? Seems an overreaction to this - is Fabregas guaranteed a start with Xavi and Iniesta still playing so well?

I don't think this effects Real's hopes - they've tons of room for improvement and you'd expect them to make it under Mourinho. I don't think Fabregas is going to radically improve the Barca team, is he?

Well saf learned from his mistakes...apperently arsenal had everything agreed with smalling until saf stepped in! Swings in roundabouts!

No, but I believe Sanchez outwide is going to improve on Pedro.

I said once again, basically meaning that they aren't going to beat Barca to laliga, well barring a long term injury to Messi/Xavi.

They are going to be second place once again imo and for a club like Real it's not good enough.

As good as Real / Barca are in comparison to the rest of the league - it will come down to the two head to head games. To that, Real have realistic chance at matching/beating them regardless of the purchase of Sanchez / Fabregas.

Proven when?

Should we go over the results in the last 3 seasons?

After a draw in the league, a win in the Copa Del Rey and only losing the first leg after having a player wrongly sent off in the first leg, I think they've shown they can do what they need to get a result against them. Not to mention that Mourinho will now be better prepared for the match up. It may not have been beautiful but, he finds ways to get results.

Basically they've Real have only won once in 3 season and none in the league.

Now lets talk about that 5-0......

Trying to accomodate Fábregas, Iniesta and Xavi at the same time might cost them a few points in the league. At least that's the best Madrid can hope for, in my opinion. But it's hard to see how any selection dilemmas will prevent Barcelona from beating the shit out of about 14 teams in that league. Sevilla, Atlético, Villarreal, Valencia and Madrid themselves might prove tricky if they're experimenting.

And? After that lesson it wasn't the same was it for 4 straight games was it now? Which is more telling than anything that happened in the previous 3 seasons as to how RM can compete against them under Mourinho.

I agree, it wasn't.

Real did get the better of them once, but only in extra time.

I believe with the improved quality Sanchez has added Real would not be able to compete again, but let us see what happens.

The supacopa should give us a small indicator.

Dizzy Cow

I guess you gave up on boycotting Pasta then?

Why is everybody talking like the deal is done and sealed? Is it all because of that BBC "insider"?

Because everyone is reporting it.

And when the beeb are saying it is close to done, it is close to done.

I wish Arse would buy a couple of players and actually challenge us.

Same goes with Chelski who are looking a bit stagnant.

Boring summer this season for us muppets!

This certainly bodes well for my bet with Pete.

If this is true (that he is gonna join for such a price), Arsenal got took to the cleaners with this one. I'd be furious if it was us. I still feel we got shortchanged for Ronaldo, at 80 million.

Don't think it is going to be a walk in the park for us this season. Everyone thought Chelsea would win by the look of our team last season. We proved everyone wrong.

Even if we lose Fabregas and Nasri and don't get a CB we'll still finish top 4. Those variables make the difference between winning the league or not.
