Fabregas to Barcelona!

longest transfer saga ever soon to be concluded?

Feck it, we might as well hand the CL title over to them. Fabregas and Sanchez, to add to what is already the best side in the world? No wonder they don't fecking need defenders.

Can we at least have Thiago of their hands? It's not as he's gonna play!

Thiago signed a long term deal but I wuld pay £30m for him - what a talent. We are wasting £35m on Sneijder who looks to be a money grabber.

That's a complete bargain for one of the best midfielders in the world and one who will suit their system perfectly. The feckers.

Now who is Wenger going to get to replace him?

If Arsenal lose both Cesc and Nasri this window, I think even Tottenham will beat them to 5th place. But they will get around £60m for them. So they could use that money to buy someone really good.

So Cesc is giving up money to get out of Arsenal.

Don't think I've seen anything quite like this before.

Wenger is obviously to blame, not matching his ambitions like a longshot.

Torres, believe it or not, took a paycut to sign for us.

Promote from the ranks is my guess.

He'll be singing the praises of Ramsey, Wilshere and that oxlade lad and how it is about time for Nasri to play centrally.

Jack's adequately replaced Fabregas in his best role, which is in CM in my view.

Ärsenal's stature in world football continues to fall rapidly...

They are more of a feeder club than any other in the PL...

Having said that, it's still a very good deal for the Arse who will be getting 30m-ish for someone they stole from

I suppose Wenger could have included Thiago in the deal as well, i'm sure Barca will accept seeing their desperation

They'll be getting less for a 24-year-old World Cup and European championship winner with four years left on his contract than what Liverpool paid for Andy Carroll. And significantly less than what Chelsea paid for Fernando Torres who is older than Fabregas, even more injury prone and did not have more success on club level while a lot less influential during Spain's World Cup triumph (well, he was shite, basically).

It's daylight robbery by Barcelona, if the reports are true. I'm sure they cannot believe their own luck, getting a player like that on the cheap.

That just highlights Chelsea and Liverpool's stupidity more than anything.

Why should such retarded decisions made by the Pool owners and Roman be a precedent.

OK then, a different example: Fabregas should be worth a lot more than Alexis Sánchez, a player more or less unproven on the very biggest stage and only a year and a half younger.

They will probably end up signing 20 17-year olds..

It's far more complicated than that though. If Fabregas wants the move this much, there's not much Arsenal can do at this point in the long running saga than accept what Barca offer, surely.

Transfers involving England internationals moving between PL clubs have always come at a silly cost - if Carroll and Downing cost this much God only knows what United will have to spend the next time SAF wants to bring a Ferdinand or Rooney to the club.

I don't understand what money Fabregas is giving up exactly....it seems to make out he's giving up bonuses from Arsenal, but why would they have to give him those bonuses if he's not even their player?

£30m bargain of the century though.

Kind of what I felt when Ronaldo finally signed for Real Madrid.

But at least they put 80m on the table, in one instalment.

It's on the beeb!

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is on the verge of signing for European champions Barcelona, BBC Sport has learnt.

The transfer, one of the most protracted in Premier League history, is yet to be formally completed but Arsenal it to be done by the weekend.

According to a senior source at the club, all the funds generated by the sale will be reinvested in new players.

Arsenal have been linked with defender Scott Dann as well as Everton's Phil Jagielka and Bolton's Gary Cahill.

More to follow.
BBC Sport - Cesc Fabregas moves closer to signing for Barcelona

According to a mystery board member, all money shall be reinvested. Can't wait for this.

Such poor planning from arsenal. Should've made Barca agree a deal for him last season or told Barca to feck off. They knew he'd want to go this year. Something like we did with Ronaldo when we quickly sorted things.

That way they could've spent the summer spending money rather than wasting time and energy on cesc.

Mind you Barca are cnuts. This is a great fee for a world class player

A loss to the premier league and Arsenal, great player.

I'd agree with that - except you don't know what they were offering before. It would have been a bit hard to accept a bit of something like £25m in May just to get it out of the way. The big thing for me is that the money is actually reinvested in quality. Something which I doubt to be honest.

Such an embarrassing statement and thought.
