Fabregas to Barcelona!

I don't get it why us United fans are sympathizing with Arsenal on this Fabregas matter?

I'm sure there was no sympathy from them when we sold Ronaldo to Madrid in sort of similar circumstances. I'm actually delighted that our title rivals are getting weakened.

Barca's behaviour is just embarrassing. I don't particularly sympathise with arsenal, more just wish uefa or someone would do something about it at this stage.

Wenger has said he won't report them to UEFA, in that case UEFA can't do anything.

Come on now. Unsettling comments? You think the comments on Barca's website make a jot of difference to Fabregas' thoughts on the transfer, or are in any way news to him?

Wittle Fabwegas can't handle the peer pwessure.

He is being treated like a slave. A kidnapped suffering slave.

I'm with Barcelona on this one. They are being taken to the cleaners over a player that should still be theirs. It's the equivalent of Spurs taking Morrison from us now, him turning out to be world class, then asking us for £40-50 million for him. We'd kick up a fuss if we were put into this situation.

Oh feck off. Barcelona were compensated when he left. Oh and he left because he chose too! Barcelona don't deserve shit. They deserve to pay the price of one of the best central midfielders in the world.

WTF! You meet their expectations if you want him. its like that. He is a quality player and naturally the price is high.

This debacle is embarrassing for both clubs.

They are like squabbling school children.

Yeah, I'm sure they were happy with their 'compensation' after losing a top young player. I don't care that Fabregas chose to go either, I'm sure Barca didn't want him to leave.

A lot of United fans will currently feel more rivalry with Barce than Arsenal.

well boo fecking hoo to them. I'm sure you don't care, but Arsenal sure as hell do. He is their player and not because he was snatched away.

Oh and you're right, he was only a top young player but not even close to the player he is now. He was never getting in that team until atleast 07/08 and even then, at a push and it's exactly why he left. Arsenal brought him at 16, turned him into the player he is today and should reap the rewards of his sale and not have to put up with this kind of bullshit. If Barcelona won't stump up the cash, they should feck off like every other club that's tried to buy a player and couldn't afford them.

He doesn't deserve to just waltz off because he was once apart of the Barca youth academy 8 years ago.

Obviously Arsenal have to ask for big money. I'm just saying that it is bitter pill to swallow for Barca considering the circumstances and that I don't blame them for trying to get him as cheap as possible.
It is not simple as that. If Barca could have provided first team opportunities then, he would probably have stayed. Arsenal gave him that opportunity and now he/Barca wish him to go back, then Arsenal have every right to ask a good fee. You will have to appreciate both club's claims.

Just because they tore us a new arsehole, yet again, does not make them a rival.

Like what was suggested earlier, I will be glad to see Arsenal weakened and that old prune Wenger, looking a bit more pissed off.

I do appreciate both sides of the story. I just don't blame Barca for trying to get him on the cheap. I just think it's daft how people are up in arms because Barcelona's reported offers are too low. For a start, we do it all the time ourselves, and this is just how negotiations work anyway. There's still a long way to go in the window and I'm sure they'll agree a price anyway.

I still don't think everyone would be so ok with this if another team took a youngster off us and asked for £40 million a few years down the line.

Arsenal gambled on Fabregas - he could (conceivably) have flopped, and they'd be looking to offload him on the cheap right now, or before. Instead, he developed into an excellent player; therefore, it's only logical that Arsenal demand a fee befitting Fabregas' abilities.

The faux-sentimental nonsense spouted by people connected with Barca is cynical, insulting to the intelligence - and disingenuous - because, as we all know, sentiment has virtually no relevance in a sport which is more-and-more like a business these days.

To be fair, Arsenal and Wenger did seduce him as a young boy and you can see how this could be construed as kidknapping.

Them trying to hold him for ransom only further confirms this. They should give him back, for his cost of keep.

I'm sure Barca don't go wooing the best young talent from other clubs lower in the pecking order year after year. all around Spain and the rest of the world.

Recent example the lad from Leeds who they'll no doubt get peanuts for.

Lionel Messi moved there as a kid so they'd pay his medical treatment.

Fabregas is facing the consequences of signing a long contract with Arsenal, thereby surrendering his bargaining power substantially. He could have inserted a release clause specially for Barcelona, but he didn't, and that's his own fault. And I really do wonder if he'd be as desperate to go to Barca, if they weren't the glamour club of Europe (or maybe even the world) at the moment, while his own team is going through a long dry spell. All things considered, he should just hold his peace till he reaches the last two years of his contract.

Arsenal are in the right. He's on a contract, he's their best player. They don't want to let him go - Barcelona have got to come up with the spondoolies! Simple as that. I don't want to understand what happened when he was 17! You want him, you pay for him!

If Arsenal's demands are £35m I think it's fair. We'd pay that for him!!!

Bullshit

Fabregas is easily worth 45-50 mil pounds at least.

Arsenal are right to ask anywhere near or above that.

Fabregas is contracted to Arsenal. Whether he came from the Barca youth set-up or not is totally irrellevant.

Good work from our Far Eastern fans

People who say that Arsenal took him from Barcelona fail to understand that a player's doesn't stop at 16/17. There's every chance that he might not have become the player he is today if he had stayed at Barcelona. From the day he arrived, he was a special player at Arsenal. Wenger gave him playing time, responsibility and nurtured him. At Barcelona, there are many great players and he might have been overlooked and he wouldn't have gotten the playing time he has gotten at Arsenal.

Arsenal are in the right and I hope they will stand up for themselves. Spanish clubs shall see that you can't hold Premier League clubs for ransom.
