There are a few ways, this one being my favourite: 4312 on paper/Defending looks like this.

Lukaku - Griezmann
Mkhitaryan
Pogba - Fabinho - Herrera
LB - Rojo - Bailly - Valencia

Herrera is definitely overrated by some, but that's for another thread. Fabinho would be the ideal midfield signing.

I don't know if Herrera is overrated. He's one of our best players who has grown in quality and leadership over the past 12 months. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that Barca are after him following his work this year.

As for Fabinho - agreed 100%. He would allow both Herrera and Pogba to be a bit more forward leaning, which will pay off massively if we get Griezmann and the like.

I've tended to think so too, when I look at the calibre of midfielders at Real, Barca, Juve, Bayern and PSG, Herrera would struggle to get into their team. That said, Fabinho and Herrera can both play in a 433, behind Pogba, and that would ideal if it would allow us to unleash Pogba into a free role.

Ok Ok... Fabinho would be a much better signing than Herrera? Herrera was our best player this season. If Fabinho is better we are in for a treat..

Only Perisic is not a LB and never has been. You don't buy a new LW and first thing you do is convert him to LB. He might be utter crap in that position.

I didn't say Fabinho is better than Herrera, I just said that Herrera is overrated by some - that's all.

Yeah I agree with this. Herrera was great last season for us, but I sadly think he can't play any better than that, but I guess we'll see.

That's one way to look at it. Another is that after De Gea and Pogba, if you were betting on which our players is likeliest to have a title-winning first XI level performance next year and be healthy enough to start 45 games, he'd be somewhere between #3-#6 along with Bailly Valencia and maybe Mkhitaryan. So, we likely have 5 more first choice players to sign before worrying about him (9, W, CM/DM, LB, LCB).

I would argue that Herrera would start at Barca, potentially PSG and at a push maybe even Bayern.

I think he meant that a lot of people have changed their tune since the start of the season. But, from what I can recall, the majority of posters on here really appreciated what Herrera brought to our team since he's put on a United shirt. It's not surprising at all to me for so many people to have him in our starting line up next season. He is class, and optimizes what every United fan wants their players to be.

Agreed with PSG. In a 433 he'd displace Matuidi

Matuidi has no place and PSG would look for someone different. And he wouldn't displace Rakitic in anything.
