Fabinho

BouhfasON and Di MarziON, that is literally as good as a confirmation.

Firmly on board with this one, can't wait to take the piss out of Luckhurst on Twitter.

So that's Di Marzio and Bouhafsi proving that we're in talks with Monaco already over Fabinho, but no worry better to believe Ogden and Lucharest that Matic is our top priority.

This UK press reliability vs European press reliability is more entertaining than the recent US presidential election.

Also if he is priority get it fecking done seriously. I think we are waiting to see how much we need to spend on Moratta before we can commit to any other fee somehow.

Why is it taking so long? I mean seriously what the feck have they been doing?! if he is a priority and Fabinho has publically said he will come, what an earth are we waiting for?

It's either Fabinho is weighing up offers, Woody is being tight or simply we are having discussions but he isn't really our NO1 target?

The fact that we now have people on the French end saying we're in talks, is much more encouraging. It had been oddly quiet.

Both Boufhafsi and Di Marzio tweeting the same thing! There is certainly some fire behind this smoke.
But, if both Matic and Fabinho are coming, it surely means that Fellaini is going to leave and Fabinho will be the back up RB and DM. I'm not sure he will be satisfied with the role.

Fellaini wouldn't leave unless Jose really wants to sell him and based off last year, Fellaini will run through a tank for Jose. And Fellaini provides United with a dimension that has been proven time and again to be effective against the right opposition.

Matic and Fabinho news is just like the Keane and Lindelof news. English press were saying Keane was our priority, and poof! Lindelof annouced subject to medical, with most of the noise coming from foreign papers before that. This seems similar.

That is a plausible reading of events.

Maybe we are after both?

Id want this to happen just so I can see what The MEN will say on it. They pretty much were saying how Fabinho was embarrassing himself last week doing those interviews because he was desperate for a team that doesn't want him.

Telegraph don't even mention Fabinho in our top 3 midfield targets. :wenger:

There are better options for RB. Aurier would be available and is one of the best around, Semedo is a great talent etc. Don't understand us signing him if it isn't for midfield. He's looked decent at RB but it's at midfield where I've been very impressed.

I'd be surprised if he got many games this season outside the domestic cup competitions.
Thats like 10 games. I think he will make more appearances given the fact that he did well last season on loan and due to the fact that we will want to rest players given how knackered they got towards the end of the season. Mou would have learned his lesson.

Maybe we are buying him for the versatility too, being able to play both positions? Not sure Aurier is available though, and if he is, dont think someone wants to buy him with his off the field issues.

We still have Valencia who, bar a freak injury, will play most of the games. If we get Fabinho and Matic both it'd make sense that Fabinho could be he cover for right back as we'll have Matic available for center mid as well. Not saying this is the case, I have no clue obviously, but if we were after both it would make sense. Gives us depth in multiple positions.

He's second choice to Meunier now isn't he?

If we do sign Matic and Fabinho does that open the possibility we might play Pogba as a no. 10?

That would be an insanely solid midfield. We could push both fullbacks very high and would give us a great dimension to our attack with width from them and Mikhi and Martial/Rashford tucking in and moving centrally behind Morata

Would basically give us so much freedom and options in attack

So, how do you think Jose will incorporate Ander, Pogba, Matic, Fabinho and Valencia into the same XI and also have Fellaini as a backup on the bench?

Not sure, think they are rotating. The thing is if PSG want to keep him, squad depth or because the president likes him, he isnt gettable. And i dont know if he wants to move either, he is probably happy with the current situation i imagine. Maybe one of the French lads knows the situation, but he doesnt look to me like a player ready to move this summer, even if his name gets thrown around every now and then. Semedo on the other hand is definitely on the market and gettable for a decent fee
